"What have you done?!" The woman's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Cutting my wings.."
Blood is every corner of the Holy thy Mother's chapel in the middle of the town. The uneasy feelings of emptiness can be felt in the village that the saintess of Peace has chosen.
"Have you lost your mind?! How can you...how can you cut your wings?!" The woman shouted in disbelief.
A small chuckle can be heard from the man who seemed to have lost his sanity holding a knife covered in blood.
"Have..I lost my mind?" He said nothing after that and continued to wipe his hands using the white cloth he is wearing while smiling gently. The pure cloth is no longer white and clean. It is now a crimson robe wore by a wingless angel.
He then looked at the middle aged woman who is clearly terrified by what she just witnessed.
"Maybe. Maybe I am. I have lost my will to continue Martha. Tell me...what reason should I tell myself to remain here. TELL ME!" Then a distressing laugh echoed through the walls of the chapel.
The woman stepped back with widened eyes and trembling hands covering her half open mouth.
"You...you are not Jahleel! YOU ARE NOT JAHLEEL!"
"I AM JAHLEEL MARTHA! GOD HIMSELF BESTOWED ME SUCH NAME!" He shouted back pointing the knife at Martha.
The frightened lady lost her balance and fall on the floor. Tears running to her slightly wrinkled cheeks.
"I have lived for hundreds of years! I have served God all my life! I have never doubted his ways Martha! But then...but then..." A blood tear fell from his left eye.
"But then what?! You have fallen to a human are you?! Is she the reason?! You said you never doubted-"
"Yes! I have never doubted him once but before He took the life of leila!"
"NONESENSE!"
"But it is true!"
"Stop spouting insolence Jahleel!"
"I never felt the way Leila had let me feel before! How can God took the life of a powerless maiden I love?!
"GOD IS A JEALOUS GOD!" Martha Growled
"You coveted Leila too much that sin started to sprout from your heart. Greed! You are becoming greedy of her! You made such mess yourself. You must face the deed you bestowed upon yourself!"
The man is silent looking down so empty on the cold floor.
The wings have dispersed not too long ago. The wounds on his back have healed and only the traces of blood can be observed.
"But I only loved..." he said in pain clenching his fist.
"She was born to test you Jahleel...but you failed..." The woman slowly stood and hugged the child she once raised.
A blinding light accompanied by rigorous thunders and flashes of golden lighting suddenly appeared throughout the whole village. The citizens have never been this terrified by their whole lives. Children can be heard crying and doors are shutting. Homes are never opened to a stranger afraid of catching God's wrath.
"Jahleel..." a voice of the Holy One called Jahleel. Afraid and horrified, Jahleel didn't answer.
"You have sinned"
Jahleel started to cry ferociously.
"Father! Forgive me for I have sinned!" He knelt before the holy Altar that is now covered in blinding light a normal being could not even glance from afar.
"I have provided you with endless care but now you have thrown away your wings. Are you rebelling against me?" The Lord knew the answer
"No Father!"
"Are you rebelling against me?" The Lord asked again
"N-no Father!"
"Are you rebelling against me?" The Lord asked for the third time.
Jahleel cried once again and fell on the ground lowering himself more.
"I did. I have rebelled against you Father!"
"You will be called Dell."
God's Holy presence left the Village and Dell...can no longer be seen...
Dell is everywhere but is no longer free. Just like a shadow, lurking in the darkness, afraid of light, the angel who once named Jahleel have lost his wings to wander freely, he lost his perfect form and is depending to everything to hide himself from the beacon of brightness. Afraid that God...might see him.
