Chapter 2

A raven haired child could be seen sitting lazily on the rooftop of a prestigious building. His eyes stayed closed as a gust of wind blow past, making his dark hair flutter.

This child was obviously Sasuke. It has been two years since he met Mai on that rooftop. That has become their spot or meet point. You'd think that their friendship would be awkward considering that they barely display emotions but it was the direct opposite.

They could spend a whole hour in a comfortable silence. No word needed to be spoken between them. She would bring him food and they spend time together...not to say that he was using her for the food. They genuinely enjoyed each other's company.

He was now seven years old. Despite being young, that didn't stop him from training his skills. Just because he had the memories of the skills doesn't mean that he doesn't need to practice them and remaster them.

He had figured something out though. Though he had a recollection of all his jutsu, it didn't necessarily mean that he could use them...yet. While his mind could handle his techniques, his body can't. He had figured this out when he tried to perform a chidori and only managed a small spark before falling unconscious.

His body at the moment had limits so he was stuck with the basics. That didn't bring him down seeing as how he was still able to perform a simple fireball jutsu. That, combined with basic jutsu like; Transformation jutsu, Replacement jutsu, Clone jutsu and others of the same rank.

That also didn't stop him from training his taijutsu and genjutsu. It's better to be well versed in various areas just like before. He could also feel that he still had the sharingan which was a relief. He couldn't think of anyway for him to reattain it in this new world had it not stayed with him.

He has nothing to fear in a fight with normal foot soldiers not to talk of kids his own age. Mai had in enrolled in the Royal Fire Nation Academy last year. Mai had pestered him about joining which he blatantly refused for a number of reasons.

One cannot simply join the Royal Academy with no strong backer which they both knew which made him wonder why she was still persistent. He simply attributed it to her rare moment of being childish. The other reason is because he was planning to leave soon and it would become an issue if people started looking for him.

Eventually they would trace his friendship to Mai which would cause unnecessary problems for them both.

Of course that's not how he explained it to her. He simply told her that he didn't feel like it and that the academy was boring which she also realized after her first day. That didn't mean that she didn't stop bothering him to join.

Which brings us to the present. He was currently sitting on the rooftop of the Royal Academy, watching kids his age and above practice fire bending...at least those who could bend. Those not fortunate enough to be blessed by Agni practiced in other areas such as hand to hand and use of weapons.

His eyes began to close. To anyone looking it would seem as if he had fallen asleep. His body slumped as he fell from the roof, heading straight for the ground.

Down below with the practicing students, a certain female with buns on her black hair stood among them looking apathetic at what was going on. She was being pestered by a hyperactive girl with brown hair.

"Come on Mai! I wanna meet him!" Ty Lee whined to Mai. Mai had accidentally blurted it out that she had a friend outside the academy. Knowing how antisocial Mai is, she was curious to know what he was like...especially the fact that he was a boy.

Mai sighs irritably and turns to answer the hyperactive girl. Her words got stuck in her throat as she caught sight of someone familiar on the top of the roof ahead of them. What alarmed her was the fact that he had seemingly fallen asleep and was falling to his death.

Her entire being froze as she watched him plummet.

"Mai...?" Said a very confused Ty Lee. She traced Mai's line of sight before freezing similar to Mai. Before either of them could do anything, an arrogant female voice interrupted.

"So, a peasant falling to his death. Nothing special about..." Her words got caught upon witnessing the next scene.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When his body was halfway through the fall. Sasuke's eyes snapped open as if awakening from a dream. Twisting his body in mid air with impossible ease, he moved into a sort of aerial sitting position. He drew the soles of his feet to the wall. Using the principle of chakra control; put too much and you'll be repelled away, put too little and you'll slip.
He channeled a tiny a small amount of chakra to his feet, allowing him to slide down the wall of the academy, reducing the speed of his fall. The amount he used was not enough to stick on the wall but it was enough to add a bit of resistance.
After a few seconds of that, he pushed off the building and readjusted himself in mid air before silently landing on his feet. Through it all, he had an expressionless face, slightly aware of the eyes watching him.
He had come because Mai had finally succeeded in convincing him to come even if just once. The real reason he's here is to see if there's anything he can pick up from watching them train even though it's highly unlikely. He walked towards his target unfazed at the looks he had drawn.
As he made his way to Mai, someone stepped in front of him blocking his root. With apathetic eyes, he looked at the person. The individual was a boy of about nine years old with black hair tied of in a knot and an average looking face.
"What is a peasant like you doing here?" He said arrogantly. The difference between their appearance was clear as crystal. While the boy wore clothes clothes that were of obviously high quality, Sasuke wore a simple high collared long sleeved black shirt, white shorts and black sandal with his ankles neatly taped by bandages.
And unlike the boy in noble apparel, his hair was loose in its usual appearance. When Mai had once brought it up, he adamantly refused to tie his hair up. He looked unfazed at the boy's words and tone.
"Get out of my way." Sasuke said with the same lack of expression, not even giving him a second glances he closed his eyes. The noble boy seeing Sasuke's lack of care or even acknowledgement towards him, fumed in anger.
"Why you...!"
In his anger, he pulled his hand back before thrusting it towards Sasuke at point blank range. A decent amount of flame burst from his palm towards the person that drew his ire.
With speed impossible for any child or average man, Sasuke tilted his entire being away fro the burst of fire. Gasps and murmurs went round from the surrounding students. They weren't to blame. After all, it wasn't everyday you saw someone dodge fire at point blank range...with his eyes closed! Not including the fact that he had never been enrolled into the academy.
The one who bent the flames looked in shock as they were avoided with apparent ease. He stared at Sasuke in fear. His once apathetic face had become colder than ice. In fear, he took a step backwards...or at least he tried to.
Before anyone could make a move, he felt a powerful force connect with his body as he was sent flying more than a few meters back. He barely managed to look up towards Sasuke who had just set his foot down after kicking him.
"Who do you think you are..."Sasuke's tone had turned cold and intimidating. His eyes snapped open and cold black eyes stared at his victim.
"...to presume you can harm me."
