Chapter 21: True Intentions

Even though I just got home, my childhood friend and my little sister did nothing more than lecture me, but now that that is over the time has come for the entire world to move forward. I have announced that a royal speech will happen today and just as I thought the entire capital has come at the gates of the castle with the rest of the population watching me trough a magic broadcast. As I climbed the stairs, to the stage we prepared for this, familiar faces came into sight, the demon generals, my little sister, the head maid and lastly Ignea and Yuzu, all of them waiting for me to start.

The generals and the higher ups of the military already knew about this but for the rest of my friends this will be the point I disappoint them while for mu subjects this is the point that they always waited for, the point our country regains supremacy over this world.

-People of the demon kingdom of Yafrenia, tell me, for how long have we had to suffer in the past due to discrimination? For how long have we had to live with our heads down in front of the human race just because we have horns, wings or tails? And why did we have to do all that despite our physical and magical superiority as a race and our military and economical superiority as a nation?

From the beginning of time the humans stole from others around them everything in order to reach this point while we fought and struggled to stay alive in the previous holy wars! We didn't commit any crime nor have we ever done acts of aggression towards them so, tell me why were we hunted like some lowly animals? Was it just to make trophies out of our horns or simply for the bragging rights? NO! It was because those lowly humans can not evolve without bringing pain to others! However despite that during my grandfather's reign over this country we became the worlds richest nation and most of the discrimination stopped, we even allied ourselves with the Eastern Human Kingdom of Odrax! During my father's reign our military force became the strongest in the world and our infrastructure the best, yet as soon as he died the discrimination started again! We can still freely interact with Odrax and the demi-human countries do to our long relationships but the others still see us as nothing more than trash! Tell me do you want to live as trash or show them the true power of a demon?

The mass of people in front of me became restless, with every question of mine the flames in their eyes burned more and more powerful as they recalled the tough times. The oldest ones had lived for over two hundred and could understand what I just said as they lived trough wars and starvation while the younger ones had souls filled with pride and love for their country. All I needed was to push them a little more and mine and Raijin's goal would be accomplished. Now there is no need for me to yell, I just have to speak softly but in a cold manner.

-Did you people know that the Northern Human Empire of Narkis has recently started war propaganda? If so do you know what their target is? It's us, their emperor asks for the annihilation of our race and they are being supported by the Church. Their hero started attacking our villages a few weeks ago and when I went to investigate I was attacked as well. There was no room for discussion, just a mindless beast doing the emperor's biding. Do you people think it's fine to let things be this way and deal with them as they come or do you want to ensure that they never will?

The masses fell quiet for a second and everyone looked at each other and at themselves before turning to me once again. Their resolve was showing in their answer: war. And as their king I could not let that resolve go to waste and as such there is only one thing for me to do now.

-In this case we shall fight for our country and our honor! As the king of Yafrenia, I declare war to Narkis and their allies! And as this country's stronger warrior I swear on the name of the first demon king that we shall come out as the victors!
