Chapter 11

After we talked to Raijin, me and Ignea took our leave. Considering just how much of a treat Alastair could become and also my personal grudges that I have against him we should get rid of him as soon as possible.

-Seiji, what are going to do now?

-You go and say farewell to your family since we'll be missing for quite some time and I'll go and see if I can secure some sort of transport towards the border and contact my little sister.

-Ok, but won't that be hard to find?

-Probably not since there are many merchants trading spices and things of that sort that do business with my kingdom so the guild should have quite a few quests for bodyguards.

-Huh, I didn't think bout that.

I parted ways with Ignea and headed for the guild to check the quests and use the guild's communication system to call my sister. When I got there the place was quite rowdy, a lot of low rank adventurer's getting drunk and singing, people telling exaggerated stories to kids that shouldn't even be here and beaten up men passed out on the floor while the counter girls tried to make them settle down. This place is as much of a shit hole as I remembered it, while from the outside it looked like a nice large building, with beautiful architectural elements and mystifying statues that you could swear look more alive than some people, on the inside it's filled with garbage, the rooms are dirty and cramped besides the main room at the entrance which is more like a bar than a waiting room. I walked up to the quest board and picked a bodyguard quest for a merchant carriage going to the border and I waited for Ignea to come but even the paper the quest was written on was imbued with the smell of alcohol, that is omnipresent in the guild. How can these people stay in such conditions? But more importantly, how could these bastard make Ignea take quests in such conditions? I'll kill them!!!

As I thought that, Ignea walked trough the door and came to me.

-Hey, I talked to my family and I told them that I'll be going on a long quest so everything should be fine on my end so did you manage to find a quest?

-Yes, we should go register as a party and take the quest.

We went to one of the guild's counter girls. She looked tired and like she had enough of dealing with drunk male adventurers trying to hit on her so she was quite surprised that I didn't smell like alcohol but she was even more surprised to see me with Ignea.

-Ignea!How are you?[Guild girl]

-I'm fine, it sure is nice to see you[Ignea]

The two of them chatted for a few minutes before the guild girl finally acknowledged my existence, damn, girl's gossip sure is scary if they even forgot that I'm here.

-By the way, who is the lad besides you?[Guild girl]

-Oh, this is Seiji a friend of mine that I met when I went after that dumb magical flower. He's also an adventurer and a pretty strong one at that. We wanted to take a quest together.[Ignea]

-Nice to meet you, I'm Seiji.[Seiji]

- Oh, that's unusual for you to take a quest with someone else. So what quest do you want to take, you two?[Guild girl]

-This one.[Seiji]

-A bodyguard quest for C-class....could it be you're a low rank garbage that's trying to take advantage of my little Ignea?[Guild girl]

-That's not it! Geez, you and your silly jokes.[Ignea]

Damn, what was that face Ignea made just now? She is to cute, guild girl please joke more about me!

-Ok, ok. I already have Ignea's data in the system so please give me your gild card mister.

I reached into my pocket and pulled out my guild card. As I reached out to give her the card her face went pale and her jaws dropped as soon as she saw the S-class badge on the card. Since the S-class and above adventurer's and fighters receive quests personally from large organisations they don't really come to the guild much so I can understand her surprised expression.

-You....you're an S-class!!!![Guild girl]

-Yeah, so could you please keep your voice down? You'll wake up the drunk bastards.[Seiji]

-Yes sir, it will take a few minutes to register the quest data, is that ok with you?[Guild girl]

-Sure, could I use your communicator in the mean time?[Seiji]

-Of course sir![Guild girl]

As I went towards the back room, I looked behind me and saw Ignea explaining the guild girl that there is no need to be so formal and scared towards me.
