22 Dragon God 8

"So," you said, ignoring the pain assaulting your body for the moment. Oh it hurt, god did it hurt so bad. But, you were a prideful person, and you kinda wanted to show off a bit for the two women around, "How will I go about contacting you lot then after this?"

"The heck is wrong with you!" Ultear blurted out, gaping at you as if you were some kind of monster, "Why are you not in any pain? It's working, the symbols are glowing and I can feel your second container growing."

"Eh, I've dealt with worse," you shrugged. Technically, not a lie. Individually, you had after all. Just not this much pain spread so much throughout your body all at once, "Still these tattoo's are pretty nifty, maybe I should get some like em after this." you noted, looking at the glowing red arcane tattoo's lighting up your body.

You looked at Meredy who was sitting down on a log, chewing on a lollipop, "What do you think?" you asked, "Think they make me look cool?" you winked at her.

"A bit much maybe?" the pink haired girl replied with a shrug of her own, "I mean girls like muscles right? I'd think so, I think yours look good. I'd prefer less covering them up."

Ultear face palmed, "Stop flirting with her you brat!" she groused, "It's not like it can go anywhere besides a few one night stands, Meredy can't exactly walk in the light with you." Ah, what a protective mama bear. From what you'd gathered so far, Ultear had been the one to raise Meredy since she was basically a toddler.

"Not necessarily." Jellal put out quietly.

Ultear rolled her eyes and looked at the man, "What hair brained scheme have you got now?" she asked.

"It's just a suggestion," Jellal replied, "But Meredy isn't known to be a dark mage like us. Sure she was one, but she was never officially found out. She could go with him to Fairy Tail."

"Eh?" Meredy blinked.

"Are you crazy?" Ultear growled, narrowing her eyes angrily at him.

He held his hands up in surrender and you watched the drama unfolding with interest, "As you said before, growing up with us hiding in the darkness hasn't been good for her development," Jellal replied, "If she goes with him, she can live in the light, at least for a while. And with her Maguilty Sense and Teleportation magic, it would be easy for Meredy to get back in touch with us and meet up with us."

"..Geh!" Ultear grunted, apparently not having a way to argue against his logic, turning back to focus on you, your muscles trembled a bit as the speed of your second containers growth picked up and the pain you were going through intensified, but you bit back your want to whine in pain back like the manly man you were.

You raised an eyebrow at her. "Oh shut up!" she snapped at you in annoyance.

"Honestly " you piped up, "As long as Meredy herself is fine with it, I'm all for her coming back to Fairy Tail with me."

Meredy bit her lip, "It sounds like it could be fun," she hedged, "...But I dunno. I don't really wanna leave you guys without help."

Ultear huffed, "It's fine, we're constantly connected anyway.." she grudgingly admitted, "You can get in contact with us at any moment you want thanks to your magic and come to us pretty fast too."

"It'd be a big help for our goals as well," Jellal input, "Cobalt has never felt Zeref's magic like we have. It would be unfair to expect him to be able to recognize it and find out what's going on without help."

"..You're an idiot." Ultear said, getting a confused look from the blue haired man.

That made the pink haired girl look even more conflicted. You don't think Jellal understood people that well. That was kind of guilting her into going, making it an obligation rather than something for fun.

It would sour her joining if she did come then. Making it all be a job, not something to get attached to.

"You know, just putting it out there, but I ran away from my family, cuz they were assholes," you piped up, drawing three bemused gazes towards you. You shrugged at the looks, "What I mean is Meredy, these two basically raised you, don't think of it as an obligation, think of it as getting their blessing to go out and enjoy your life and not be shackled to the darkness."

"Hmph, I did the raising," Ultear snorted, "Jellal spends so much time brooding it's a wonder he and Meredy got so close."

Jellal didn't deny it, just looking to the side and scratching his chin in a sheepish manner.

"Besides," you cut Meredy off when she opened her mouth to pipe up, "I'm pretty sure I'll be able to sense Zeref's magic myself without needing to have someone point it out to me."

"..Are you sure guys?" Meredy asked, "What if you need me to patch you back up?"

"We'll be fine," Ultear waved her off, "We've taken care of most of the strongest dark side players. Unless Tartaros decides to attack us, which I highly doubt happening, we'll be fine."

"And look at it this way," you added in, "If you're with me and something happens, you can bring me with you to help. And if you haven't realized yet, I'm pretty amazing all around." you punctuated your statement by flexing your arms a bit and pushing out your broad, well defined pecs.

*Slap*

Ultear face palmed hard, "..I'm beginning to regret this already." she bemoaned quietly. It was only thanks to your newly enhanced hearing from becoming a dragon slayer that you heard it.

"Well...okay," Meredy giggled, "There is some stuff I've wanted to try out for a while but not got the chance to."
