A Star Chased By Goblins

A day after fighting the wolves, Lilliana woke up peacefully, but not without pain.

*Sigh*

As usual, she quickly took a shower before heading to the breakfast room.

Normally, I woke up in the early evening, when the sun was getting dangerously close to the horizon.

But today, my whole body was shaken by something before that.

I don't know why, but a male voice echoed in my mind, this voice sounded panicked.

As I was shaken more and more violently, the voice became clearer and clearer.

"Hurry! Wake up, we have to run!"

When I finally opened my eyes, I noticed a young boy who looked to be the same age as me. His hair was blond and his eyes were blue like the sky.

His extremely cute face, on the other hand, was ravaged by fear and anguish.

Strangely, his arm was outstretched, and he seemed to be pointing in a direction.

Instinctively I looked in that direction.

There I could see a young girl in the distance, running and screaming. Behind her, two goblins were chasing her.

One of the Goblins was armed with a spear of very poor workmanship, a simple piece of thin wood, with a barely carved stone spike at the end.

His partner was holding a metal sword, which appeared to be man-made...

The young boy who had woken me up wasted no time and started running with all his might.

Meanwhile, I stared at the girl. Her dark hair and her fiery eyes warmed her face. She and her pursuers were beginning to get dangerously close to me.

I could finally hear her voice:

"Help me!!!"

Her face was strangely distorted, sweat dripping from her forehead, tears streaming down his face in such numbers that it could have been called a torrent, and a foul viscous fluid escaping from his nostrils.

She or the goblins, it was hard to say who was more repulsive at that moment.

In any case, there was no way I was going to face goblins. Although they were among the weakest monsters, they were still stronger than wolves and had an infinitely stronger conviction.

In my flight, I dragged the few adventurers who had stayed despite the warnings.

However, instead of running in my direction, they took a perpendicular direction, because they noticed something strange: the girl and the goblins were strangely fast.

"Ziii you... Please... Help me..."

The girl was practically behind me, I could even hear her heavy breathing.

At that moment, I was sure of one thing: they were going to catch up with me.

I decided to change direction and climbed a nearby hill. Once at the top, I stopped dead in my tracks and turned back to my pursuers.

Soon, the girl fell in my arms and collapsed there. She was completely exhausted, as not a single tear or drop of sweat was flowing from her body.

I helped her lie on his side, then prepared myself for the clash with the two goblins. I took my sword out of its sheath.

The immaculate blade reflected the sun's rays and the goblins seeing me with the weapon out slowed their pace and prepared for battle.

After running so much, they were also very tired, which would make my upcoming fight easier.

I took a defensive posture. The spear-wielding goblin took me head-on, while the sword-wielding goblin tried to attack me from the flanks.

For a minute, we stood face to face, looking at each other.

The more time passed, the more I understood one thing: it was a fight to the death.

I concentrated more.

The first to move was the goblin with the spear. He tried a thrusting attack, which I easily dodged.

Unfortunately, my sword was too short, so I couldn't hit him back.

Seeing that I was slightly off balance by my dodge, the second goblin took the opportunity to strike me with his sword vertically.

I had no choice but to parry this attack, which destabilized me even more.

But the flow of attacks did not stop there, the two green creatures attacked each in turn, not leaving me a second of respite.

Alone, it was madness to take on two goblins.

"Don't worry I'll help you!"

The person who had just challenged the fight was none other than the girl initially pursued by the goblins.

"Don't worry about it. Just draw them in for a few seconds and I'll get rid of them."

After saying this, she took out the gigantic grimoire that she carried on her back and opened it a few pages.

Instantly, the atmosphere became slightly heavier in the surroundings.

Her fiery eyes reddened even more, and a menacing aura began to surround him.

The goblins did not seem to want to let her finish, as they rushed to attack her.

Convinced that the attack she was preparing was going to be powerful, I acted as a shield and did not let either of the two goblins pass.

After about fifteen seconds, she began a strange chant, while a runic circle appeared in front of her. I felt that I had to move away a little.

"En. Essfe En!"

After reciting some kind of incantation, a small sphere of fire of about fifteen centimeters appeared. With a simple gesture, she sent the fiery sphere at a lightning speed.

Although the targeted goblin tried to dodge it, he was not fast enough and took the full impact.

Soon, the flames engulfed him, as he died, burned.

The second goblin was just as shocked as I was at such power.

"What are you waiting for? Hurry up, kill the last one!"

His words brought me out of my torpor. I quickly approached the tetanized goblin and struck him in the back of the neck with a powerful blow.

I didn't have the strength to decapitate it, but my blade went down about four inches, which was enough to eliminate the last monster.

"Yay! Victory!" the mage exclaimed, forming a V with her fingers.

She ran to me, took my hands, and asked:

"Tell me, what is your name?"

I looked at her, a little surprised.

"Lilliana."

Her eyes lit up, and her hands gripped me harder and harder.

"My name is Stella. Would you like to form a group with me !?"
