Chapter:44 Killing Daichi pt-3

"Very well then with all this information, Katsuto-san and I, we will take care of Juumonji Daichi. Mari, Mayumi and Naotsugu-san, you three protect the people within the Storage room..."

Erik spoke in his usual calm tone as he looked towards the others for confirmation.

"No! That's too dangerous! You guys mustn't fight that person, he is a Juumonji and seems profound in using [Phalanx], meaning that the chances that you guys will be able to injure him are very low..."

"Not to mention that he has subordinates equipped with a special bullet made specifically for hunting magicians..."

"Also if thinking what you said earlier as the truth, then his subordinates should be more well equipped, it's too dangerous to confront him like this!...."

"We should plan on escaping from this hotel rather than trying to fight them....."

Mayumi immediately opposed Erik's suggestion as she listed out the various factors which were against them.

She wouldn't allow Erik to get hurt or worse.....killed!

"Yes, Mayumi is correct! We shouldn't try to fight them!....."

"No, you both aren't looking into the matter clearly enough....."

Erik dismissed their words with a wave of his hand as he patiently explained the true scenario to the others.

"Daichi's motive is to possible kill Katsuto and the politicians, he is in control of the monitor room of the roofs beneath us, he will never allow Katsuto to escape the hotel since he probably has surrounded the whole place..."

"Between killing politicians and killing Katsuto, it's clear that Daichi puts more importance in doing the latter, so to successfully escape, we need a distraction..."

"It's clear that his emotions are affecting his decisions as he keeps on focusing on Katsuto rather than dealing with the politicians...."

"We can exploit this weakness and plan a successful escape..."

"If Katsuto attracts Daichi's attention then the latter wouldn't be able to attack the politicians since he will be occupied with the former..."

"Even if he sends strong subordinates to do the job, with you three guarding them, I doubt that any harm will befall the politicians....."

"Similarly, once Katsuto engages in a battle with Daichi, I will take down the other subordinates that the latter would likely bring with him to pressure former, considering the fact that he is a bit weaker than Katsuto...."

"This....so you basically plan to use his hate against him!?...."

"You shouldn't allow personal feelings to intrude with your mission, it becomes a weakness which can be exploited by others to their advantage..."

"Even so! What about the control room? As long as the enemy has our location, it's easy to pin us down from multiple sides! Not to mention, fighting Daichi and his subordinates can potentially end with either one of you or both of you, dying!....."

"Mei can take care of the control room, once she is done securing the place, we can begin our plan, as for us dying, it doesn't really matter as we are likely to be kidnapped or killed if Daichi ambushes us before we strike..."

"Not to mention that I am quite capable of dealing with people who like using such magic..."

"But even so! Why don't you let us accompany you and Katsuto-san while we together defeat Daichi and then escape from the hotel?..."

"The answer to your question is very simple, look at yourself, you and Mari aren't wearing something in which you can exhibit your martial powers..."

"You will only drag us down if you came with us...."

"Not to mention that Daichi can use this knowledge to his advantage and order his soldiers to kill every inside here..."

"The distraction is the only way we can obtain victory with the least amount of casualties...."

"We can—"

"We don't have time to argue Mayumi, I know you are worried about our safety but this is something that needs to be done....."

Mayumi still wasn't convinced and wanted to argue more but Mari held her hand.

"It's okay Mayumi, I think we should have faith in Erik's decision..."

"But Mari—"

"I think you underestimate Erik, Mayumi. He scored the highest marks possible in a physical test, meaning that he had an extremely high level of psion count, we have already seen his control and close-combat skills...."

"....."

A conflicting expression appeared over Mayumi's face as she alternatingly looked towards Mari and Erik, who had his eyes closed.

Eventually, she closed her mouth under the gaze of her best friend while tightly clenching her dress within her small hands.

'I-I feel so useless!...'

'For our sake, Erik is willing to put his own life in danger!....'

'And I can't even accompany him on the battle without dragging him down.....'

Mayumi assumed that Erik wanted to protect her and the others, thus he decided to fight against the Juumonji can deserters.

While it is indeed true that Erik wanted to keep Mayumi and Mari safe, the reason behind his decision was the golden opportunity to pull Katsuto into his plan.

He could already predict that after killing Daichi, Katsuto will be the most open to the reality of this world, which would allow Erik to pull the giant on his side.

"Do you have anything to add Naotsugu-san?...."

Katsuto slowly looked towards the famous combat expert sitting across him, looking completely serious and ready to act.

"No, I agree with the plan Erik-san had proposed earlier....."

Naotsugu had first hand seen what Erik was capable of, though he didn't know just how strong Erik truly was, he knew for a fact that killing someone with skills that Erik possessed wasn't easy.

"Very well then, let's begin with the plan then, Erik-san if you will?..."

Katsuto asks Erik to begin with his plan as the five of them stood up from spots and dusted their clothes.

Erik turns towards his caretaker and issues an order to her.

"Mei-san, please take control of the control room as soon as possible and give me a signal that you are ready..."

'I am looking forward to seeing how you will perform with that upgraded body of your's.....'

"As you will Erik-Sama...."

Not saying anything more, Mei swiftly turned and exited the storage room, according to Katsuto, the control room was located at the western sector of floor 1-3F.
