13 Chapter-13: Daily Life pt-1

"Isn't that Juumonji-san of course-1?..."

"Yeah, even Erik-san is also here.."

"They are probably here for work or something?"

"It should be so? Erik-san looks so handsome..!"

"Sheesh!....he may hear you!"

"I don't care, he is soo cool and kind!"

"I was having a problem with the registration form submission, I asked for him to help me, not knowing his identity as a course-1 student elite...."

"Unlike the others, he was polite and helped me with the form!"

"Erik-san is kind and talented, that's why he is so respected by the other course-1 students...."

"Remember the incident today at the cafeteria? Suzu and his friends were apparently bullying a course-2 student and were restrained by Mari-san...."

"But then Erik-san asked him to cooperate with the authorities and surprisingly Suzu did listen to him..."

Erik and Katsuto were standing near the Cross-field Club stall, Katsuto had asked one of the members to fetch the data book of the club from their headquarters and bring it to the stall so that Erik can record the required data and install an entry for Juumonji as the banner for his club.

Near them stood several students from different courses, gossiping about Erik and Juumonji, Erik had been a very polite and calm course-1A student who was well respected by everyone.

Just like Juumonji, who possessed the deposition of a monarch, Erik was like a High Noble, a prince who demanded respect all the time.

Mari had also become famous for her capabilities, her fame had shot through the roof after she managed to restraint multiple course-1 students within seconds. She was even praised for her efforts in the committee.

Four first-year course-1A students had gained fame, Mari the [Boss], Mayumi the [Elven beauty], Juumonji the [Monarch] and Erik the [High Noble].

"Erik-san sure is famous!..." Katsuto spoke with a slight smile, he could clearly hear what the students were talking about.

"You underestimate yourself Katsuto-san, the only reason they aren't talking about you is due to your status as the future head of the Juumonji clan...." Erik spoke with an exasperated sigh as he heard the gossips people were talking about, apparently out of all his stats, his charisma was Ex-ranked.

"They fear that you may talk offence, though I don't blame them after all they don't know you..."

Juumonji Katsuto indeed had some initial problems while communicating with the club members. They all were being very restrained and careful while talking to him, it made him a bit uncomfortable but he had already adapted to their behaviour.

If Erik had to define Katsuto in a nutshell, they he would say...

'A big guy with an even bigger heart which cares for his subordinates and friends.'

'True to his title as the [Monarch].'

"Hmm...that's true, Erik-san, Mari-san and Mayumi-san are the only people who don't seem to care about my title..."

"No offence Katsuto-san, but I personally don't find the 10-masters clan very impressive, though it may very well be due to my background, they haven't done anything worth my attention."

Saltzman wasn't a clan but the surname itself had immerse power and connections, not only within Japan but also in USNA.

Erik's father was one of the few people who could stand toe-to-toe with the high-ranking officials and 10-Master Clan Heads, and as his successor, Erik himself had high standards and healthy pride.

"Well, what Erik-san said is indeed the truth, we, 10-Masters clans are more focused on better ourselves rather than doing anything worth admiring."

"While it may not be wrong, we indeed haven't done anything worth respect of the people..."

Unlike others, Katsuto was much more open-minded and was willing to listen to other's opinions on topics, his qualities and capabilities were the reason why Erik even engaged in philosophical talks with him.

Mari and Mayumi were also open-minded in their own rights but Katsuto was just on another level, a level on which Erik considered himself to be on.

"The distance between the normal people and Magicians is increasing day by day and our behaviour is just increasing the speed of expansion."

"Hmm.....Katsuto-san is missing the root cause, magicians, especially the 10-Masters Clans consider themselves different from normal people, their thinking is the reason behind their actions and their actions are the reason behind the growing distance between humanity." Erik politely interrupted Juumonji and directly pointed out the main problem behind the topic.

"Hmm...what Erik-san says is indeed accurate, I think you would make a capable president, in case you decided to run for that position next year...."

"Your intelligence and views are very powerful and effective..."

"Plus I think you have a fairly high chance of winning...." Said Katsuto with a smile as he looked towards the bunch of students gossiping about Erik.

Hearing the slight teasing intent within Juumonji's tone, Erik's eyebrows twitched a bit before he calmly replied to Juumonji's suggestion.

"What Katsuto-san says might be true but I don't have any interest in becoming the president, I personally think that in future Mayumi-san would make a fine president, my path is different..."

"Different?..."

"Hmm....tell me Katsuto-san, what do you think about an ideal world?"

"A world which is ideal for everyone, something which is accepted by each and every person on this planet, something which could end all problems."

Erik had a plain face when he asked Katsuto this question yet Katsuto could feel a psychological pressure descend on him as he felt the weight of Erik's worlds.

"I...personally don't think that it is possible to each this even in theory, but if I had to imagine then...I guess I don't know..."

The world which is ideal seemed both attractive and eerie, Katsuto couldn't form any opinion of the matter as he couldn't access the situation.

"Erik-san, your question is above my capabilities, I don't think I have an answer..."

"It okay Katsuto-san, it was inappropriate of me to ask such a question in the first place, let's focus on the forms...."

"Indeed...."

(A/N:-Basically, Mc's group of friends will be Suzune, Mayumi, Mari and Katsuto.)
