Erik turned to look towards Mizuki who seemed to have a lost expression on her face.

"Excuse me, S-Senior Erik, can you please tell me what does Yoshida-san mean by saying that my eyes are very rare?"

"I thought this condition of mine was fairly common in the magic community."

It was understandable that she would not know about the finer details of her condition, after all, information regarding unique magic-related topics was closely guarded.

Only bits and pieces of this information could be accessed with a civilian clearance.

And since Mizuki belonged to a normal middle-class family, she had no clues about the uniqueness of her eyes.

Erik pulled a chair towards himself and took a seat before motioning towards Mikihiko to do the same.

He looked towards the timid girl with a patient smile which seemed to have calm her down, considerably.

"I know that you have lots of questions regarding your unique condition."

"Don't worry as I am going to slowly explain everything but before that, both of you need to promise me something."

A grave expression appeared on Erik's face as he asked both of the youngsters to promise him something.

"What?"

"Whatever I am about to tell you both; shouldn't be told to another soul! This is a rather grave matter which could potentially put Mizuki's life in danger!"

Hearing Erik's words, horror drawn upon their faces as they slowly understood the meaning behind his words.

If Mikihiko was right in his claim about Mizuki having the [Crystal Eyes] then it was also possible that others would get to know about this fact too!

And as they say, "Greed" is one of the seven deadly sins of humanity!

It is very much possible that Mizuki would be kidnapped by other foreign forces or even their own government as everyone would like to get their hands on such unique eyes.

Moreover, with her rather lack-luster background, it would be all the easier to target the timid girl.

Mikihiko, of course, understood the gravity of the situation as he spoke up!

"I-I promise, Erik-san. I would never talk about Mizuki's eyes ever again!"

The timid girl had a grateful expression on her face as she bowed to show her gratitude.

"Those who are visually exposed to spirit particle emissions would have their emotional state affected, and as a result, a person suffering from this disorder tends to be susceptible to the breakdown of his or her mental stability."

"One way designed to control this is through Aura Cut Coating Lens which you are currently wearing; it cuts down on the sensitivity and thus also the Pushions; seen by the user."

Hearing the information provided by Erik, Mizuki went quiet for a couple of seconds as she contemplated the best course of action.

"If you want to learn, how to control your unique condition, I can teach you along with Mikihiko."

"Wait! You will teach me?"

Mikihiko had a confused expression on his face as he looked towards Erik who motioned towards him to stop speaking.

"Yes, I have fought your brother once; I, too am blessed with a rather powerful capability to use [Ancient Magic]."

"Looking at you, I can conclude that there is 'something' blocking your full power."

"Probably the reason behind your depressed personality."

"Nevertheless, I am willing to help both of you; so that you can overcome your trials."

Hearing Erik's blunt words, Mikihiko was taken aback but shortly after he bowed to show his gratitude.

"I-I...thank you, Erik-san!"

He, of course, knew that Erik was also a talented [Ancient Magician].

Most people had no idea about the hard work this man had put into mastering so many skills.

But Mikihiko wasn't anybody, he concluded that Erik must have some way to check on his condition given his background.

He was, of course, thankful.

Mizuki turned to look at Erik who offered her his assistance in mastering her gift.

A warm feeling spread within her heart as she felt happy about receiving help for tackling her problems.

"B-But may I ask why?"

Mizuki was well aware of the gentle and calm demeanor of this Senior brother of her, but even so, helping her so suddenly didn't make any sense to her.

She even used her [Crystal eyes,] to see if Erik was really willing to help!?

"I want to help you because you can in-turn help Mikihiko deal with his problems."

"Not to mention, that I, too have unique eyes, just like yours."

Erik knew very well that it was an equal exchange of secrets.

If he wanted to establish a strong emotional bond with them, then he had to be upfront!

And he very well knew how to achieve maximum effect!

Who is a better teacher than the person having faced similar trials in life!?

As such, the legendary "chartreuse phosphorescent eyes" shone intensely for a split second.

Establishing the fact that Erik indeed has a similar condition as Mizuki!

Well, not 'a' condition but two to be exact but you surely, understand, right!?

A surprised expression appeared on Mizuki's face which was quickly replaced by the now, a tear-stained face.

Usually, Erik is protected by [Hollow's body] which deters such intrusions yet this time he allowed Mizuki to 'feel' his true intentions so that she could feel his sincerity.

He had spoken the truth and she could clearly feel his intentions and motives.

He did want her to master her unique eye so that she could help Mikihiko fight against his demons.

But it wasn't the only reason for him to help both of them.

Firstly, with the assistance of Mizuki's special eyes; it would make it easier for Erik to pinpoint the "parasites" in the upcoming plot.

Lastly, he wanted to induce hesitation and doubt within both of their minds.

What does he mean by hesitation and doubt?

Well, in case Tatsuya and his gang ever found out about his plans; prematurely, courtesy of plot.

They would hesitate and doubt the Yotsuba family member which would surely throw him offbeat; that, in turn, would allow Erik to buy more time.

Now, do not misunderstand!

Erik is, without a doubt; powerful enough to erase each of them from reality.

After all, even the greatest of us can't compete with time... and death.

But why should he take any unnecessary risks?

I believe... we all are well aware of his character by now.

"Eye of the Moon" is his masterpiece!

Being the perfectionist, he is!

He will never tolerate being at a disadvantage against anyone!

Not to mention, this is 'Mr. Hakai it all' we are talking about.
