114 Chapter-113 The CAD Engineer

In the Club Management HQ, the preparation meeting for the Nine Schools Competition was being held.
The discussion regarding Tatsuya's appointment was negatively received by the attending students except a few which included Honoka & Shizuku.
"How can a course-2 student calibrate the C.A.Ds which will be used in the upcoming [Nine-School Competition]!?" (Mob.1)
"What if he wrongly calibrates the C.A.Ds!?" (Mob.2)
"We can't trust a newcomer with something so important!" (Mob.3)
"Yes, I don't think that he should be the one calibrating our C.A.Ds!" (Mob.4)
Mari and Mayumi had conflicted expressions on their faces.
They had confidence in Tatsuya's skills but the same couldn't be said about the participants.
And the most annoying thing was they were indeed correct!
Trusting a course-2 student with something so important was a big gamble, something that Mayumi and Mari were willing to do but not the others.
"Guys we should at least give him a chance to prove his worth." (Hattori)
Unexpectedly, it was Hattori who spoke on behalf of Tatsuya.
The vice-president may not like the guy but he did acknowledge the latter's capabilities.
But even so, it wasn't enough!
"Uh!? I will not trust my C.A.D with him." (Mob.1)
"Me too!" (Mob.2)
"Yeah, I am not going to give some nobody something so important!" (Mob.3)
Hearing their words, Miyuki couldn't help but clench her small fists as she tried to remain calm.
"Onii-sama can use my C.A.D to prove his skills!" (Miyuki)
"No, he is already experienced in handling your C.A.D so it wouldn't be fair to let him calibrate your C.A.D." (Mob.4)
Freeze!
The room temperature dropped ever so slightly as barely visible sleet could be observed on the surfaces.
Miyuki had an angry expression on her face as she struggled to maintain her calm; causing her psion to leak and cause a change in the temperature.
"Alright." (Erik)
All of a sudden, the temperature seemed to rapidly increase!
Within seconds! Gone was the sleet that covered the various surfaces, leaving behind melted moisture which also seemed to be evaporating.
Multiple drops of sweat could be seen staining everyone's faces; their uncomfortable expression made it clear that this wasn't a fun experience.
Erik didn't tolerate such behavior even if it was done unknowingly, to counter Miyuki's chilling psion; he released some of his own scalding hot psion which seemed to have done the job just fine.
Katsuto decided to interfere before the uncertainty took control over everyone.
"To solve this issue, I suggest a live test for Tatsuya's evaluation for the technician's position." (Katsuto)
"I agree to be the test subject." (Katsuto)
Katsuto decided to volunteer and let Tatsuya calibrate his C.A.D so that the latter could prove his worth to everyone.
Unfortunately, this situation was bound to get even more sticky!
"Katsuto-san, this was the Student Council's suggestion. Let me be the one to volunteer." (Mayumi)
Mayumi took responsibility as the President as she decided that it would be best if she volunteered; after all, it was her and Mari who asked Tatsuya to be the engineer.
"But President Mayumi, what if he alters your present calibration!?" (Mob.1)
Damn these guys really didn't like Tatsuya or the entire course-2 as a whole.
"Yes, President Mayumi this is a big gamble! Please reconsider!" (Mob.2)
Step!
"Hm...I can see that there is a lot of friction within the Discussion Committee." (Erik)
Erik finally spoke up he was feeling annoyed by this development.
He took a step towards Tatsuya and pulled out a gun-shaped C.A.D from his back pocket.
"Calibrate this C.A.D." (Erik)
"Isn't....that your C.A.D from two years ago? To still kept it with you?" (Mayumi)
Mayumi immediately recognized the C.A.D that her fiance was currently holding in his hands.
This was the same C.A.D that Suzune had calibrated for Erik, two years ago when he participated in the [Nine-School Competition] for the first time.
She couldn't believe that he still had it with him.
Erik looked towards Tatsuya with a calm expression and spoke in his signature, calm tone.
"This used to be the C.A.D that I used two years ago when participating in the [Icicle Pillar] and [Monilith Code]." (Erik)
"Su-chan had calibrated it for me to use since I couldn't use my primary C.A.D in the competition." (Erik)
"While it is only a secondary C.A.D, Su-chan had spent quite sometime calibrating it." (Erik)
"I have downloaded her configuration on my phone so I want you to format this C.A.D and then calibrate it to your liking." (Erik)
"If you are able to achieve an acceptable level of configuration then you shall be the engineer for the first-year participants." (Erik)
"I, myself am quite versed in calibrating C.A.Ds so I will be the judge." (Erik)
Indeed, Erik was a prodigy in calibrating a C.A.D.
After all, he himself designed the [Dream Technology C.A.D] which are capable of calibrating themselves to achieve the highest resonance level with the user.
"Understood." (Tatsuya)
Tatsuya gave Erik a nod as he moved towards the calibration room.
The test was being overseen by Azusa, who knew very much about CAD calibrations.
She was stunned by Tatsuya's performance and his precise manual adjustments.
Tatsuya was calibrating the CAD completely manually at breakneck speed (using only the keyboard).
Erik just closed his eyes and concentrated on his thoughts while Tatsuya was busy calibrating his secondary C.A.D.
'Kyouko-san still needs some time until she finishes making 'that' software.'
'I can also you this opportunity to hunt down the [No Head Dragon] branch located within the country.'
'Let's hope that they can give me any information on the next piece of the [Dream Technology].'
'Then there is also my C.A.D release soon after the [Nine-School Competition].'
'By [Nine-School Competition], I just remembered a major point!'
'Our school will be going up against [Third School] and [Second School] this year in the newcomer's division.'
'I wonder who will win? Restrained Tatsuya, restrained Masaki, or restrained Minoru?'
"Fantastic, Shiba-san!" (Azusa)
Azusa's excited tone made Erik snap out of his thoughts as he recollected his secondary C.A.D from Tatsuya.
He injected his psion into the C.A.D and it was as smooth as ever!
He even tried a simple [Data-fortification] and it went fantastically fine!
This just went to show just how Op of a person was, Shiba Tatsuya.
He was able to achieve the same level of calibration when compared to Suzune's calibration and that too in 1/10th of the time it took her to do the same.
"Hm...impressive indeed!" (Erik)
"Congratulations Shiba-san, you are the engineer responsible for the newcomer's division." (Erik)
