Promise to be Boundless!

Sorcerer idled around the formation and observed the situation inside. It took several hours to refine nine bodies into pure energy. After the refining process was completed the formation let out a buzz.

'Let's get to work.' His illusory self floated onto the center of the formation.

Each body was refined into, two types of different energy orbs making a total of eighteen. Nine golden fate energy orbs and another nine milky white qi energy orbs.

With a hand command, all nine qi orbs started to merge with golden fate orbs. Next, they started crystallizing while rune patterns were embedded onto them.

'Now the hard work!'

He sat down in the middle of the formation in the lotus position. The whole tower started to shake and emitted golden light mixed with silvery lightning. An enormous Formation pattern appeared surrounding the tower.

Meanwhile, a golden figure was looking at the scenery from a distance.

"So his whole territory is a huge formation. No wonder he didn't want to expand his domain or took in subordinates… To keep all that a secret."

"And the tower is the formation core. I wonder what he will try to do with that amount of fate energy. If he wanted to break all the laws, that's not enough. Regrettably, I cannot understand his formation and rune language. What a genius…!"

Next moments the whole formation was illuminated. Normally even her creativity and cognitive abilities were blocked by the cosmic laws, Goddess of Fate could have utilized her knowledge and her followers' knowledge to study something unknown to her. But when it comes to the Sorcerer, she was helpless because he knew about her abilities and limitations better than she did.

With countless experiments over his lifetime of three eons, he figured out nearly every ability of her. It was true that he was not powerful enough to contest against her and defeat her. But he still could stop her from influencing his future.

That was the reason he created his tower. A fortress, not a soul could get in without his consent. Not even the Goddess of Fate. Within that fortress, he created methods to avoid and misled fate for countless years. His rune and formations language was one such method. But even with all that obstructs she could still feel the nature of the formation.

'Time…!? and space…!? Is he trying to go back? But even so, the laws of the cosmos won't allow any changes to the past! He will be trapped within a purgatory plane for eternity till the world tree decides to set his soul free for reincarnation. Should I warn him?' She couldn't decide what to do.

"No! If he gets trapped in a such plane, I could save him and convince him to join and follow me!" Fate Goddess thought out loud.

The whole tower started rumbling. With time that rumbling covered the whole Immortal Realm's star fields. Then it reached Martial Realm and next to Mortal Realm. The whole three realms started to vibrate.

As the Fate Goddess, she could sense the changes in cosmic laws. At that time, she could feel a foreign power was infiltrating the laws of time. And that was fate power which he collected through the span of three eons.

'He indeed trying to go back. But why is he using fate power instead of his own Qi energy?' She furrowed her eyebrows.

She felt something was wrong but couldn't say exactly where. In a flash, she vanished from her place and appeared before the Sorcerer's soul.

"Kayson, don't do this. You will be punished by the cosmic laws and trapped for eternity. If you really want power, I can teach you a way to become an existence same as myself." This time there was some urgency in her voice. It was well hidden but the Sorcerer noticed it.

"Hah… Looks like you felt something is wrong, don't you? That's right I'm not going to travel through time and space like those clowns before me to get trapped within an unescapable plane under the mercy of the World Tree." The Sorcerer's words made her realize, that her ominous feelings were true.

"I found a way. A way to do the impossible. Haha…" His maniac laughter reverberated all over the three realms.

"Impossible. No one ever found a way around the cosmic time laws. Even I didn't. You won't be either. You just chasing false hope. A mirage…! Cosmos will punish you for your insolence. I once tried to control the laws and paid price for that by losing my cognitive ability and creativity which I took pride in. I you do this I cannot imagine what your fate will be." She showed genuine concern for the Sorcerer's wellbeing which he ignored completely.

"That's where you got it wrong Hui'er. I cannot be judged by fate. I'm the rouge who no law could ever trap! I am boundless!!" He said in all seriousness.

"I know the countermeasures set by the cosmos for such situations. The cosmic laws would only banish me into an eternal plane if my past self already has an existing future. But if I erase that future…!!! It's a logical error within the cosmic laws themselves. I created this Great formation of Past, Present, and Future, just to do that!" He was so sure of himself.

She looked at him in disbelief while he was explaining his mad creation. "But doing that won't solve your problems cosmos will reset all your memories. Your future self will be gone. All the work will be undone. You will follow the exact path you took again and again in a loop. That's madness!" She even raised her voice.

She was shocked by the way he used her original name as a friend. All these eons of struggles they've become from enemies to rivals, then friends who quarrel with each other. So it was true that she also felt a bit of companionship towards him.

The Sorcerer chuckled. "No, it won't be. Laws of the cosmos were entities that evolved after the birth of the cosmos. So they were only able to influence objects and beings within the cosmos who birthed after them. That means they cannot influence ones that came before them."

Then he looked at her with a victorious glance. "Don't we both know something that was there from the beginning?" An illusory eye symbol appeared on his forehead.

"The World Tree…!? World Seed?? So that's why you visited The Beyond, to get the World Seed. You thought everything through then. Looks like I cannot talk you out of this. I can only wait for your return for our final showdown." She uttered, distracted.

"Have to accept you are a genius with more potential than me. Even though you working against everything I worked towards, I must accept that. But I'm still not sure you can win against me!" Unnoticed to the sorcerer there was a faint expectation and desperation filled her ethereal voice.

"Haha… I appreciate the compliment. It's a real honor coming from you. But as you know, I never declare wars that I cannot win. I declared this, didn't I? Since I did, I will emerge victorious. No matter what! As I said I will be BOUNDLESS! This is not a statement but a PROMISE…!" With that extremely arrogant phrase the Sorcerer, the tower and the territory vanished into nothingness.

The only thing that was left there was the Goddess of Fate. Hearing his words, a faint smile appeared on her face. Her cheeks flustered a little. It showed that her human side was still there. She actually was not an emotionless empty shell of an existence as the Sorcerer accused. Because the laws of fate she designed were too powerful to the point of suppressing her human self.

"What an arrogant guy! Since I cannot project myself to lower realms, I guess it'll be lonely for some time. But don't worry I'll remember to cause you all kinds of trouble. I still remember all the times you teased me to find the excess of my laws." She grinned.

It was a good thing that the Sorcerer was not there to witness this. Or he might have shocked himself silly. The sight of the all-powerful elegant and dignified Goddess of Fate, grinning like a vixen might be too much for him to bare.

As she was observing, all the colours in the three realms were fading away and everything became black and white. At the next moment, time started to reverse, in a fast phase. Year after year, decade after decade, and century after century time flowed back. Amid all of this only colourful thing left was Fate Goddess's figure. She watched everything in amazement.

Within a few moments, nearly three eons flowed back and time reversal stopped abruptly! All the colours of the cosmos started to come back. She closed her eyes and sensed the changes in the cosmos for a while.

"Looks like he succeeded! I don't know whether you can achieve what you claimed. Either way, I'll be watching you! And looking for the day you arrive at the high realm again." She said while fixing her piercing gaze towards the Lower Mortal Realm.
