11 Nina in Danger

"Aunty, when will your prayer session start?"

Hearing Nina's question, all the three boys turned towards Jennie with a racing heart.

"What prayer.....you mean the full moon one?" All the three guys sighed with relief at the same time.

"Yes, Aunty. Tala said that it was a private prayer attended by the villagers. So I will make sure not to come out of the house at that time." Nina lied eloquently.

People tend to do the things when they are particularly specified, not to do, So was Nina. Though she wanted to watch the moonlit beach, the curiosity to know why she was not allowed to go outside was much more. The thought that the prayer wasn't the main thing made her more suspicious.

Ace watched her leaning towards the wall, combing his beard with his fingers. Her question seemed to him like asking at which time she could plan to go out.

"At 7 pm, we will leave. Close the door tightly and sleep, child."

Nina blinked and smiled in agreement. Turning around for Tala, her eyes stopped at Ace, who was staring at her with dubious eyes.

Nina took aback, sensing that Ace understood her idea and thought. "Don't even think of it!" Ace uttered and stepped out of the house. Tala and Czar glanced at his back, wondering to whom he was referring.

"Tala and Czar, let's get to work!" Nina murmured, looking at them, still watching the door with confusion. Noting down about the rest places and planning out the things to do in that week took three long hours. Stretching and rotating their neck, the three decided to go on a walk in the fresh air.

All of them silently walked, watching the other villagers, the light green grass and the birds flying back to their nests. A light breeze was blowing, making the leaves flutter, grass rustle, and their tiredness vanish. They reached home as it became dark to see Czar's father, Ace and Jennie sitting on the wooden chairs in the hall.

Tala bowed his neck, seeing the old village head and the Alpha of the pack - Andrew. "Papa, Why are you here?" Czar worried, not understanding what his father was planning at that time. Andrew wasn't a cunning or selfish person from the start. He completely changed after he became Alpha. The desire for more power and wealth took over the nice person. That was one of the reasons why Czar doesn't wish to become Alpha. He was afraid that he could also turn into someone after experiencing the money and power.

"I wanted to ask if Nina is fine with staying in our house instead of Jennie's?"

Nina's eyes instantly turned towards Ace. Even though she knew that he didn't like her, she wished to be in his presence under a single roof until he was present in that house. Ace was deeply emerged in thinking by placing his fingers under the chin. "Nina, You go to your room and please don't come outside tonight," he said with a comforting look and smile.

On hearing her room door shut, "Uncle James wants to transfer the moonchild line rights and duties to me. So, protecting the next Alpha's bride is my duty."

"Next Alpha! Ah!!!! Do you think that I will die that easily?" The Alpha threw a fierce gaze over Ace.

"I think you understood me wrong. Uncle brought in Nina so that she adapts and becomes prepared when the time comes. Until the next Alpha wakes up, we can't let her stay anywhere else."

"So, you say that you're protecting her by putting in a house with two other guys," he yelled, glaring at Tala and Ace.

That was a question that Ace didn't accept. Before he could speak, Jennie interfered, "Andrew, I hope you didn't forget that I am the daughter of the moonchild clan and a healer too. My family has been protecting the pack and taking the duties of protecting the Alpha's bride from the start, and we will continue to. My Brother wants to give the rights to my child. So, he is the protector of Nina. How dare you accuse him?"

The powerful vibes that Jennie was giving out terrified the Alpha. That was the first time that the others witnessed the Alpha in a weak and horrifying situation. All the eyes in the room turned towards Jennie, whose body was releasing fumes. Her greyish eyes were turning gold, indicating that she was on the edge of transformation.

"Tala, take her into the forest immediately. Czar, please take care of the Alpha. I will remind Nina not to come out and follow you." Ace said, patting Tala and Czar's shoulder.

Watching them leave, Ace rushed to Nina's room. Knocking her door, he opened it to see Nina peacefully listening to songs, lying on the bed. Ace cursed God for throwing the calm and tender girl into the werewolf forest in an unexpected situation. The sound in the earphones seemed loud as Nina didn't notice him. "Nina," he called a little loudly.

Nina opened her eyes and turned towards Ace, removing the earphones from her ears. "Nina, please don't come outside. If you want to see the full moon, I will take you the next time." he pleaded. Looking at his worried and confused expression, she walked to him, "Is everything ok?"

"Yes, if you don't come outside for today. I promise that I will explain to you everything later. But please don't step outside."

"I won't!" Nina replied smoothly and immediately.

"Thanks," Ace said, hugging and stroking her hair.

Nina turned into a statue the next second their body contacted. Although she didn't get what was going on, she understood that she shouldn't leave the house. The curiosity in her increased ten folds, but looking from Ace's expression, she realized that there was some dangerous or shocking secret that the whole village was hiding from her. Breaking the hug, "Promise me that you won't come out."

"Hmm... I promise. But you have to tell me what's going on and should take me to the beach, the next full moon."

"Done!! You will be able to watch the next full moon."

Looking into his beautiful goldish brown eyes, Nina smiled.

Ace walked out thinking that he should meet James as soon as possible to discuss why he asked him to keep Nina safe. Although he aspected something but viewing his mother's expression, he understood that it was more serious.
