20 Chapter 19

I don't feel anything, no pain, no sadness.

Nothing.

Feeling a light breeze, I slowly open my eyes. Blinking a few times so my eyes can focus on what's in front of me.

Staring straight up seeing only to see that I'm laying under a tree. Turning my head to my side only to be met with a valley that is full of colorful flowers.

From roses all the way to daisies in the Valley.

Each and every flower one can think of is here.

A few meters away of me, bees were collecting pollen from the lavender.

Everything here is so beautiful.

I feel so happy here, something I haven't felt in a long time.

Looking up at the sky only to gasp. You can see the Northern Lights and it is still daytime.

Where am I?

Something is restless behind me, slowly turning around. Something is hiding behind the flowers, the movement finally stopped. Whatever it is, it is not happy.

"Hmph." Is all I let out as I'm being tackled to the ground.

"Shadow!" I scream at the spirit sitting on top of me wagging its tail.

In return he barks and keeps on wagging his tail.

"Shadow can you please get off me, you're crushing my ribcage." Politely asking the spirits.

With a growl he jumps off with his tail still wagging.

Standing up I pet him.

"Kai."

Turning around facing him.

"Dad." I say in a monotone.

"It's good to see you again son." He says standing awkwardly in front of me.

We never had any kind of connection. He always wanted me to be in sports but I'm not one for sports.

I would rather read or paint something.

He always told me that art will never take me anywhere in life.

The only thing we have in common with each other is our blood, nothing else really.

"Lets go for a walk." He asks with his hands in his pockets.

Following him, we walk beside one another down the valley.

After a few minutes I break the silent between us.

"Am I dead?" I ask him.

He stops and looks at me.

"Yes." Is all he says and continues to walk.

I can be dead, I just can't be.

Looking up from the ground I quicken my paste to catch up to him. Straight ahead of us there lays big rocks with carvings on them. Walking closer to them to inspect the carvings.

They're Zodiac signs.

Odd.

I have to say if I'm really dead than I'm very disappointed, I always thought the Grim Reaper would walk me to the spirit world but clearly, I was wrong.

"Kai, do you know what this is?" Dad asks gesturing to the rocks with the carvings.

"These are the rocks which open a portal to the Human World." He answers before I could get anything out.

"Do you know where we are?" Dad asks again.

A valley filled with flowers, the Northern Lights visible during the day and there is a portal in the middle of everything.

"Mt. Hazel." Replying to his question.

In return he nods.

"The Hunters found a way to close it." He says still shocked.

Guessing by his tone he also didn't knew about their plans.

"Kai!" Somebody screams my name behind.

"Grandma!" I scream as I see my Nanna.

Running to her only to be engulfed in a hug.

"My baby, how are you? Have you been eating even a toothpick is bigger than you." She demands with her hand on her hip and her foot tapping against the ground.

Leave it to this woman to always to insult my weight, I am always to skinny for her liking.

Why does it feel like I am forgetting something or someone.

The others!

I turn away from Grandma to look at Dad.

"Dad do you know anybody with the name Vídarr?" Asking him.

"How...how do you know that name?"

"So, you know him."

"My grandmother would always tell stories about a guardian called Vídarr who will forever protect us." Dad answers with a shocked look on his face.

"He's the one helping me to find more people like me." I inform him about my plans.

"When I was a kid, I would always have dreams about this being with wings but I could never see his face." He says in disbelieve.

"How did you die?" Grandma questions.

"When I was in the bunker under HQ, Dr Wu injected me with some drug. After that we escaped with the others to a safe house that belongs to the Saints of Life." Telling them what happened since last time I saw them.

"Oh, and Atlantis is real. We made it emerged from the ocean and we are going to war." I almost forgot to mention it to them.

"See I told you Atlantis is real." Dad says.

"Wait! You're going to war" He bellows before I could say something.

"Yes, it turned out that the Hunters were also the bad guys and all the Shadow Creatures are teaming up again." Telling both of them.

The only thing you can see is the shock written on their faces.

"This time neither of them will win because we, the Saints of Light activated all the beacons around the world. I have an army." Is all I say.

"Sounds like they're all fucked." I stare in shock at Grandma who I never heard cuss in my life.

"You can't be here Kai; you need to leave." Dad says in a serious tone.

"Ouch!"

Why is my hand hurting?

Looking down to it seeing that my hand is turning into dust, blows away with the wind.

Panic started to rise in me.

"What's happening." Screaming in pure fear.

"Kai son, your soul is slowly returning to the Human World, where you belong. Don't be scared, we will always be here for you." Dad says as he pulls me into a hug.

This is the first time he ever hugged me.

More parts of my body are starting to turn into dust.

"We will always love you."

I close my eyes to expect the worse.

Shooting straight up in my bed, I rip off the sheet over my face gasping for air.

Looking around, I am in a room with my bed in it. Why am I in here?

I really did die, didn't I?

Jumping by the sound of glass breaking, I hear voices arguing. I walk down the hall leaving the room and eventually it led to the garage. Broken pieces of glass are laying everywhere.

"They are going to kill all of us!" Vídarr shouts at Cole who is trying to calm him down.

"Maybe he will wake up. We did inject him with both of our blood." Cole says.

Wait what.

They injected their blood into my body.

"Uh, hello." They both snap their heads to me.

"Kai!" They both dash towards me shouting my name.

Vídarr pulls me into hug, he immediately let's go of me and starts to sniff my face.

"Demon what are you doing?" Cole questions him in an unimpressed tone.

"He still smells human even though we gave him our blood which brought him back to life." Vídarr answers Cole's question.

"Okay, Kai go get dresses into something more formal. We leave in 30 minutes." Cole ordered me around.

"Where are we going?" I ask the both of them.

Vidarr takes a step back, he looks extremely nervous.

"Kai you have been asleep for two days." Vídarr informs me.

"So?"

"We have the meeting to get to." Cole interrupts.

What meeting?

Oh, that meeting.
