Completing The Three Quests
So it is turned out that all three paths of cultivation is counted in "Total Experience Pool" which increases the amount of Resource Points they needed to raises their cultivation state up every time they raise up to a higher state in any one of their cultivation path. Now it is finally come under light why double paths cultivators have slower progress than their single paths peers, let alone the tri-fold path cultivators like them.
A better illustration in mathematical formula of this situation is like this:
Let's say to raise a cultivation state from One Star Initiate Realm Lower Stage to One Star Initiate Realm Middle Stage we need 100 RP.
If a single path cultivator would only need
(100 + 200 + 400 + 800 = 1,500 RP) to raise their cultivation state from One Star Initiate Realm Lower Stage to Two Star Ascended Realm Lower Stage, a two-fold paths cultivator would need
(100 + 200 + 400 + 800 + 1,600 + 3,200 + 6,400 + 12,800 = 25,500 RP) to raises both of his cultivation paths from One Star Initiate Realm Lower Stage to Two Star Ascended Realm Lower Stage.
And if it's a tri-fold paths cultivators like them, then the amount of Resource Points they would need just to advance all three of their cultivation paths from One Star Initiate Realm Lower Stage to Two Star Ascended Realm Lower Stage is:
100 + 200 + 400 + 800 + 1,600 + 3,200 + 6,400 + 12,800 + 25,600 + 51,200 + 102,400 + 204,800 = 409,500 RP.
That astronomical amount of resources needed is the sole reason why only legendary beings mentioned in myths and not any single person in the record of history can cultivate all three paths of body, essence and soul to great accomplishment.
No one would be willing to be stranded as a mere Two Star Ascended Realm cultivator who only enjoyed a preferential treatment in a small backward kingdom when all of their peer's cultivation state would have already reached the level of Four Star Great Saint Realm and they enjoyed luxurious lives as peak powerhouses in great empires or even an entire small continent.
Realizing their current predicament, Avadhi, Kiseki and Chikane can only let out a wry smile and strengthened their hearts as their journey to the peak of cultivation world will be very long and arduous.
At the same time, they make a resolution to only allow their future party members to cultivates in only two paths of cultivation rather than in all three, as they would not be able to gather enough Resource Points needed to advances all of their cultivation level.
After killing ten monsters, the quests notification beeps and Avadhi make a gesture to open the system module and about to tap his finger on quest reward screen when his hand is held by Kiseki who shakes her head. Chikane then explain to him to postpone his reward acquisition before they can get a Four-Leaf Clover which have a wondrous effect to increases the item owner's luck (and if stored in system item storage space, the luck enhancing effect would spread to all party members who have access to the system).
Nodding his head, Avadhi closes the quest window and the three of them then continue to fight Herb Hares and Leafhoppers while foraging and gathering all available natural resources such as various herbs, fruits, nuts, and mushrooms which can be found growing all over the plains.
Kiseki leap up and climbed a tree agilely to cut a honeycomb there and gathered some slices of beeswax filled with honey and royal jelly. Chikane picks up the dried bones which seemingly come from a large animal or monster, while Avadhi uses 16 Resource Points to buy a One Star Peak Grade Pickaxe (which comes with great durability and a dowsing ability to help locate the ore and mineral veins in a rock formation) from the system store and began to picks on a rockbed to mine ores and minerals contained within.
(AN: this scene really reminds me to the gathering quests on Monster Hunter video game series. I used play it from MHFU in PSP to MH3U in 3DS in the past. Anyone here have also played them?)
While gathering the resources, the happy-go-lucky Kiseki found the Four-Leaf Clover which is hidden in a thick flowering bushes. After picking it up, finally they have completed both "Foraging Food and Resources" and "Beginner's Luck" Quest. The three of them also have gathered 17 (seventeen) Spirit Sakura flower petals so they can trade them for a Spirit Sakura Tree Pot. After storing the Four-Leaf Clover in the system inventory, Avadhi opened the system module and tap his finger on the quests notification screen to receive the reward from the three quests.
Two skill scrolls and a phantasmal red box appeared in his hand. Opening the scrolls, the notification from the system appeared with the description of the skills and a prompt screen of whether he wants to learn them or not.
