4 The Antagonist’s Mother

"My lady, no one can compare to your beauty," Olivia stops for a short while, "you look so much like your mother. She would be proud of you."

"Tell me Olivia, what was mother like?" Victoria asked inquisitively. In the book, she was described as an angel. But, that was not the case with Adeline. Who knew how many misconceptions the book brought with it, or maybe it could have been because of her everything was changing.

"She was a kind and respectable person. What did she not do right?"

"Did my mother also help you?"

"Yes, I am here because I'm in debt to her," she says softly, "I want to give you the motherly love you never got to experience. Even after gaining another mother. Those vile wolves, here for nothing than the prestige and rank this place offers."

Victoria remembers their evil doings. "Do not worry. I will protect you, Olivia." She looks up meaningfully. She wouldn't let her die the same way like the original story nor let anyone bully them this time.

Olivia smiles. "I know, my lady. With you. Whom shall I fear?"

Victoria looked at herself in the tall vanity mirror. Looking back at her was an unfamiliar face. The same face the antagonist's mother bore. What feature of hers was of her father?

Olivia did not lie. The antagonist's face was considered a top beauty. Who knew how many hearts she would conquer as she got older?

Jade like skin and hair like silk. But, the most captivating feature about her had to be her eyes. It was like ruby. Glistening ever so beautifully. She was tall yet not overbearing. It made it seem like she had an aura of confidence. Just a glance would make some hypnotized because of her.

Then why the hell did the crown prince not like her, the antagonist thought to herself. Was her other sister that much prettier than her? Or was there a treacherous scheme her evil sister planned.

In her other life, she was not beautiful so she couldn't marry. Yet, here. She was beautiful but still couldn't marry. What bad luck. She was expecting to at least marry in her last life. But, if she did succeed here. Fantasizing the future romantic scenes, she squeals. Jackpot! She would hit jackpot! Victoria was a sucker for good looking guys. Even the novels she read could not quench her thirst.

Here, not only would she be marrying a hottie, but also would be the richest woman alive. Grinning, she could already see herself floating in all that money.

Olivia put the final piece in Victoria's hair. "My lady, I am terribly sorry to ruin your good mood. But, it is time to go meet all the others."

Victoria looked at herself in the mirror again. "It is fine. I am bound to meet them sooner or later."

Just you wait, vile snakes! I will pay you back a thousand folds for what you did and are about to!

May the most cunning one win!
