9 Chapter VIII: A Dark Place

"As I was saying, when the time came your father left us to keep you safe. Even so..." King Vaardin continued on about my father.

The King's story went on for a bit longer up until a sudden rush of freezing cold air began go quickly fill and void in the room. The lights shattered against the walls that broke into emptiness which then faded into black as the dark of night.

I thought maybe I was day dreaming until I realized otherwise struggling to get up. An ungodly presence with a strong pounding in my head. My legs sank deep into the floor beneath pinning me in place.

A deathly green figure of mist formed before me amid the dark ahead stirring closer. It appeared almost human-like with an eerie skull wrapped from head to toe in a strange blood-red armor fed by veins that creeped up its chest and down the arm almost melded against the flesh. Maybe it was entirely something else? Whatever it was it clearly wasn't a goof thing.

It echoed to me in an utterly disturbing tone, "Resist not, Vvvvvyth, we know who you are. You mayyy as welllll give up now whileee you stttttttill can. It's only a matter of time before we find and killllllll youuuuuu, come to usss Vythhh, come now or bewareee, alllllll shall suffer a fateeee farrrr worse than your ownnnn ten times more a thousand fold."

" Ifff yoooou fail, therrrreeeeeeee is no ppllllaaaaaaccceee close, farrrr, or wideeeee thatt you and youuurrrrrrr preciousssss kind can evennnnnn everrrrrr hide, weeee are anyone, we arrrrrrree everyone! "

The unknown figure faded away as the throne light flooded back into existence.
