Human Air conditioner

Noah woke up on his bed on earth Next to Alice, he immediately sat up.

'Did I die? The system was saying something...' Noah couldn't remember he was so confused.

'But I really thought I was dying. I forgot that I still had a second life.' He then looked at Alice and couldn't help but feel better, he had almost died leaving her alone.

Sitting for a while he noticed that he was feeling hot, really hot. The temperature of the air conditioner was already at its lowest. Alice was cold and snuggled under a blanket.

He got out of bed and walked into the kitchen. He took out some water from the fridge and chugged a glass.

He felt a warm liquid enter, 'why is it warm? Is the fridge not working.' He noticed that the inside was a little cool, but not as much. He made a mental note to fix it later. The heat was still there, now he was covered in perspiration. He pulled on the collar of his t-shirt hoping to cool himself.

He then opened the freezer and ate a few ice cubes, he finally felt it was cool. But it was just cool... something frozen didn't feel cold at all.

'Did the cold energy from the Eternal Battlefield somehow get into my body?.... Ah! I broke through with Winter Style!' Noah realised what was happening. However, he couldn't continue to stand as he felt like he was melting.

He ran into the bathroom and got under the shower putting it at its lowest temperature. In the end, it was still slightly warm but it was better than being cooked outside.

He stood under it relaxing, 'that must be what the system was talking about at the end.' His hand went into his pocket as he took out his phone, it was waterproof so he could still use it.

Opening Explore the Eternal he saw the latest post from a few minutes ago. It was a discussion on the world announcement the system had made after he killed the S Class monster. The discussion was quickly blowing up.

It had people ranting and complaining about the people who killed the S Class monster as well as the system. Apparently, the system had announced a 12-month ultimatum to kill the rest. There was also a large change to the world as a 'World Gate' appeared. This all happened after he was unconscious in the Eternal Battlefield. It was still quite early in the day when he froze, so people spent a lot more time there before they woke up on Earth.

'What...? Killing the Ancient Water Serpent started the final part of the Protected Zone. 12 months seems doable, the guilds shouldn't be too far off from being able to kill one.' He didn't think they would be able to solo one, he was only able to do it because of Flash Step and his equipment. It was just that there was no restriction to the number of people that could fight one at once, so killing one wasn't actually that difficult.

They were also discussing S Class monsters, no one had heard of them. A Class so many people were confused finding out there was something higher.

Noah put the phone away. He didn't know if he died in the Eternal Battlefield, but reaching high proficiency in Winter Style gave him hope.

He then slowly concentrated and started doing the movements for Winter Style. Eventually, he stopped feeling hot. He felt better and changed into different clothes.

As he walked out Alice woke up as well, she saw Noah.

"Noah, did something happen to you? I felt really weird for a moment." Alice said, her hands reaching for her arms unconsciously as she wanted herself.

"A fight got dangerous but I survived," Noah answered. He was sure Alice would be able to tell if he died because of the connection through their talents. So it was obvious he hadn't died. He then looked at Alice weirdly, why was she warming herself in the room with no AC?

"The announcements were crazy! We were fighting a B Class dungeon lord when they started ringing. All of us were distracted and almost lost. Things have gotten serious now, we only have twelve months to complete the Protected Zone..."

Noah simply nodded as he prepared a quick breakfast. The two changed into their uniforms and got to school.

Noah hung his bag in his right hand so didn't hold Alice's hand as they walked into school. Alice didn't notice and just walked along talking.

They entered the classroom and sat down. In a glance around, Noah noticed that a few students had started showing signs they were cold. He kept it casual as he spoke with both Alice and Kira.

The class started, halfway through someone stood up, "Sir, the a.c. doesn't seem to be working properly. The room is too cold can I increase the temperature manually?"

"You can, even I'm feeling a bit chilly today." He then continued to explain.

The morning classes quickly ended. For lunch, Noah finally walked out. The people in the classroom started feeling hot. Wondering what was going on.

The three walked to the roof, Alice opened the door with her lock picking skill.

As they walked in Alice rubbed her arms, "Isn't today pretty cold, are winters approaching?"

"It's still the middle of summer. But the temperature is cooler than normal... I didn't hear about a temperature drop. The sun is still bright but I don't feel that hot." Kira said. She looked at the temperature on her phone and saw that it was 39 degrees Celsius. Today was one of the hottest days ever.

Alice also noticed the same. The two then immediately turned to Noah who was looking away acting casual.

Feeling their gazes, he coughed, "It's a skill, I can't control it well so it's cooling the area around me. I'll go back to normal by the end of the day."

He had a similar reaction when he awakened the Cold Mind skill when training Winter Style it was just a lot weaker. He assumed that he was cooling the area around him so prominently was probably because of the mana in the air as well as the effect skill he was gaining.

"So it was you!" Alice moved closer and touched Noah's hand. It was ice cold. "Are you sure you're okay? We don't need to go to the hospital?" Alice was concerned.

"I feel fine, I'll go back to normal in a day."

Alice nodded she then moved closer and hugged and his arm. She lightly moaned feeling how comfortable it was. Hugging Noah's arm through the clothes was like hugging a cooling pack. Noah was cooling the area, but the outside was a lot hotter so it was comfortable.

It was really hot today, so hugging Noah felt amazing. "I didn't know hugging you could feel even better," Alice said as she found the perfect position.

...

By the time school ended Noah had stopped emitting such cold energy. His skin temperature was still similar to a corpse but it was better than before.

Later when reached home and got in bed he was fine. He closed his eyes and fell asleep.
