The Enduring Couple

"Now, I have grown into a handsome man, boasting of an expectant wife at home and in continuation, I have felt that I loved my wife dearly, with the blood circulating within each vein in me" says Chris Blanks.

And of course, this was his princess, and Chris would confess that before, behind and beyond her wife's beauty, was a humble, respectful, hardworking, kind, selfless and most importantly, a prayerful woman, whose spiritual life really, inspired him every step of the way in those days.

Perhaps, Chris' background speaks volumes of his current status quo and also, of his way of living. Chris is awakened by the feeling of urination one darker night when he observes that he's been having another dream like he often does.

Miss Niella Griffiths and Chris Blanks meet the first day during a singing rehearsal in the Lakewood Community Church in California. Both Niella and Chris have been good Christians all their lives and the first day Chris has set his pair of eyes on her, he for once, without the forfeiture of any concentrations has observed Niella lead the team of choristers on one of the songs of Travis Greene thoroughly, in her angelic voice that day in Church---and the song she sings that day during the rehearsal is entitled: "Made A Way"

Chris Blanks can't help himself nonetheless, he admires Miss Niella Griffiths right away---for it's natural that a lady whose parents are of the origins of Africa and the United States of America, will possess a sweet or angelic voice. Niella's dad hails from Ghana while her mom's a white lady who's a citizen of the USA.

After Chris stares at Niella singing Travis Greene's song as if she owns it he then says to himself: "Who doesn't necessarily desire such a rare combination of angelic voice and flawless beauty as a young man in a beautiful damsel?"

This is Chris' rhetorical question which he asks himself as if he's performing a soliloquy on a stage for an audience. In him, he's got an amorous feeling that he can get up close to be with her and to sing along with them in the rehearsal but, for his annoying, froggy voice, he resists his incessant urges.

True to his expectant premonitions, he later meets her that afternoon after the rehearsal is over and all of the choristers walk out from the auditorium---and suddenly when Niella comes out from the auditorium, Chris couldn't believe his luck giving him the chance of talking with such a beautiful lady like Niella, in a sweet flowing conversation.

Chris says, to her: "What a sweet, angelic and cordial soul you are Miss" and then he introduces himself by mentioning his name to Niella and holding her lovely hand to kiss it. He continues to say, "I've got a piece of star in my hands already" And he asks her: "Are you an Orion or Pleiades?" And she ridiculously answers him: "I'm Niella, and an Orion" Chris communicates with his train of thoughts. "For certainly, Niella's a real piece of star within the constellations" But immediately he speaks out loudly these words to her: "I feel now that this piece of glowing star is surely in my arms"

Their friendship grows from strength to strength until, the two realize that they have woken up from bed after having fallen in love with themselves. Chris and Niella sleep off pretty soon and do wake up again but from their slumber still in love with each other. For those days are really the moments of their lives as a couple, in respect of their amorous relationship.

They often say, 'Nothing good comes easily' but, Chris has to face a stern test of coping with pressure from Niella's rich family, whose intentions are for her to be married to a rich and influential, young man like her dad. In fact, Chris is the exact opposite yet, he's the young man with whom she has fallen in love and as she often will visit him to spend some hours with Chris until, she's ready to take leave of him.

Niella has an elder sister called Natasha who often advises her to keep Chris if she's sure extremely, that Chris loves her back and encourages her to find out if he, Chris loves her more than the way she loves him.

Her elder Sister Natasha ties the knot with Kendrick in Lakewood Community Church the next weekend and now she's a married lady yet, she often pays her parents a visit to check up on them. She's later being called Mrs. Natasha Griffiths-Jenkins because, she's been married to a prominent, Senior Naval Officer, by the name of Mr. Leroy Samuel Kendrick Jenkins.

Her husband used to be a Lieutenant Colonel, in the United States Army during his days and this same man appears to have had a resemblance of what Chris is currently but, he's got hopes of being successful someday like Mr. Leroy Samuel Kendrick Jenkins. She and her husband have told Chris and Niella the story of their lives and how they have pulled through successfully, all those years.

According to her husband, he was neither rich nor had any better education during those days when he initially, had met with Chris' beautiful wife's Sister, Mrs. Natasha Griffiths-Jenkins for the very first time at one of California's beautiful beaches.

In fact, it has taken Mr. Jenkins over a decade to succeed after countless failures. Truly, he used to say to himself: "Failure isn't a stop but, a step to succeed successfully and that I advise every young couple that this should be their hopeful desires always"

After sometime, Chris has endured some experiences which finally, pay off after having suffered in many ordeals. Upon Niella's completion of her University examinations, she sweeps off a whooping, massive and well sought-after excellence which makes her credentials hugely relevant but, impeccable.

Niella and Chris later decide to tie the knot after having met her parents with the rest of the family and finally upon some acceptance, Niella's family comes anyways and in attendance during their daughter's wedlock with Mr. Chris Blanks to grace their holy matrimony in the Lakewood Community Church in California.

She and Chris are put together as husband and wife in Lakewood Community Church and the officiating clergyman that day is the Honourable, Right Reverend, Professor Jeremiah Nicholas Sparks who later after five years of joining them together as newly weds.

Mr. Chris Blanks now recounts to his good childhood friends about what had taken place five years ago before he and his wife got married. The beautiful couple now celebrates their fifth marriage anniversary and having invited a few friends and family he narrates to all and sundry how they had undergone through thick and thin to be married at last. All celebrate with them, applaud and congratulate them for taking the bull by its horns.

"It took us a lot of passing through the thick and thin of life's experiences and encounters to be accepted by my wife's affluent parents" Mr. Blanks tells all the people gathered on his compound.

Her parents are Professor Emeritus Derrick Griffiths and Dr. Mrs. Catherine Griffiths of blessed memory. Niella's parents had owned a number of reputable conglomerates and worldwide factories in different countries in Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas respectively which they had bequeathed to Mr. Blanks' wife and her elder Sister, Mrs. Natasha Jenkins.

Now, in recounting issues of how Chris' wife's elder Sister, becomes a widow, Chris quite remembers that, on one fateful Christmas her wife's elder Sister's lovely husband Mr. Leroy Samuel Kendrick Jenkins, was due for an international appointment overseas, as regards his work and so it demanded that he must travel out of the country to the United Kingdom.

Mr. Jenkins' flight has been fixed but, later he has felt that he should have altered the date but he can't. In fact, missing the flight on account of his scheduled date will mean that his life will have been saved on June 25, 1978.

Of course, Mr. Leroy Samuel Kendrick Jenkins was an obedient and compliant man to so many rules and principles so then his wife Mrs. Natasha Jenkins often called him, "The principled man" and his children would oftentimes hail him for being just that.

His flight was due so he flew off to the United Kingdom and in a lengthy flight safety was handled but, something happened after a few days in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, the conference for awarding him and most of his other colleagues had beckoned and they held it in the British Royal Stadium that unfortunate day.

The occasion was massively, attended nevertheless, it was quite unfortunate that a sad news hit the screens of every nation under the Sun in the world. Terrorist attacks premeditated to use an aeroplane against the British Royal Stadium. The terrorists had plunged their aeroplane into the British Royal Stadium and allowing the whole, wide world to realize a sad but, bad news that day.

This was how, Senior Naval Officer, Mr. Leroy Samuel Kendrick Jenkins had died untimely, in a conference which was held in the British Royal Stadium in the United Kingdom. Mrs. Natasha Griffiths-Jenkins is Chris' wife's elder Sister, and she could not stand the fact that her loving and affectionate husband, "Sam Leroy" as she called her affectionately, had just bitten the dust when he was at the peak and zenith of the ladder of success in his profession as a prominent, Senior Naval Officer.

She pays a visit to the Blanks' family many times after her husband's funeral has been held in the United States and people, dignitaries, plenipotentiaries among others have come in their respective numbers.

She with her children have felt a heavy punch on the face and so a deep but, vaster vacuum than ever imagined have been created in them. Who would be that special someone to replace and fill in this vacuum for a loved one like Mrs. Natasha Griffiths-Jenkins who has now turned a widowed Sister suddenly, to the Blanks', Griffiths' and Jenkins' families altogether.

Anyways, she's legally, the sister-in-law to the Blanks' family and Chris has loved her dearly, for she was the only one who has stood by them when his wife Niella and Chris had started afresh in their relationship. She often came to them with her children, and have visited with the Blanks'family anytime she and her wonderful children have felt like doing so.

She and her wonderful children would be in the Blanks' family home for at least a fortnight and would leave for the United Kingdom with them in order to be with her firstborn son, Dr. Jeremiah Jenkins who's then, one of the topmost scientists in England and is married to Miss Sandra Dayton, a British-Canadian born lady, whose parents are Dr. Drake Cedric Dayton and Dr. Mrs. Jane Henrietta Dayton.

As the years move on, Mrs. Natasha Griffiths-Jenkins relocates to England finally because she has bought a new family apartment over there. She then stays with her lovely, brilliant children until, they are old enough to leave her all alone.

She now feels reluctant to be remarried to another man owing to the resuscitating memory of her husband's sudden demise and by the fact that her children are quite young and tender then except for Dr. Jeremiah Jenkins who's her only firstborn son, who's almost an adult at 18 years old in those days.

In fact, Mrs. Jenkins is both rich and influential hence, she's able to educate her only son, then a young Jerry Jenkins overseas. Young and handsome Jerry travels to Britain to study further at the University of Oxford and later goes to Harvard University respectively, where he graduates with first-class package of honours in Bachelor of Science in Physics and quite again, furthers it to acquire a Master of Science in Physics and finally, he chalks a PhD in Physics altogether.

Several years down the road, Mr. Chris Blanks has flown with his amazing family on a British Airways to Britain from the United Kingdom. Chris' wife Niella and himself have made plans to go with their children to England on a furlough (holidays) with them, only to visit Mrs. Jenkins because they have missed seeing her face to face.

It's on these holidays that her young Sister, Chris' wife and Chris convince Mrs. Jenkins in order to connect her to Dr. Donald Krempton, an African-American scientist, who's based in Australia then.

Certainly, Dr. Krempton himself, has heard so much about the Griffiths especially, of their father, the late Professor Emeritus Derrick Griffiths who had been the founder and chief executive officer of the Griffiths' Group of Conglomerates, which are scattered and located in various countries across the world.

To be sincerely, expressional here, Chris doesn't know that all of these aren't a reality but, serial dreams until, he hears an irksomely, louder, deflating sound of a long vehicle which is carrying an overload of large foreign goods and plying the highway closest to the indigenous vicinity where he resides currently.

This nuisance of a sound, has been what wakes Chris up entirely, from his sleeping, slumbering and snoring mood. It causes him to be replete with an abundant exasperation against the driver of this so-called, long vehicle. Chris is then extremely, bored and impassioned for this terrorist nature of a driver has attacked his fruitful dreams with a massive, ballistic truncation.

Chris Blanks never feels the urge to forgive himself for he thinks that he's been living a reality all this while not realizing that it's been but a number of sweet and amazing dreams of what he's yearned for his life to have and become when he marries the woman of his dreams called Niella, just as much as he sees in his dreams.

Chris Blanks is hopeful that someday all his many dreams will come to pass no matter what happens. It may not take the shapes, forms, likeness and tendencies of all that he has dreamt of in his dreams and of which he's literally been a part and parcel of all the while however, these dreams are bound to occur in differently, new dimensions come what may and at all cost.

If Joseph's dreams came to pass then Chris' dreams aren't any exemptions for he's hopeful that someday all of his dreams will materialize.

Chris then says, "Before my actions are the thoughts of what I had imagined and practically, my actions are before me while my thoughts behind and this is why I have stated that this is the story of "The Glorious Princess Of Submission" for indeed, "There are much better individuals behind the scenes than there are before them who can make all of these dreams a reality"

My Conclusions

Of a truth, once you've discovered or unveiled the original being of yourself, you'd have the most valuable privilege of ruling as God in the affairs of this world. Many of the people who failed to attain great feats and achievements were in essence those individuals who had failed to dream dreams. The worst of such people are those people who have dreamt yet, were not hopeful of their dreams as if those dreams of theirs were just mere dreams which hailed from a feverish disposition and sickness or too much of worries to the core.

Dreams are like aspirations in varied forms and shapes. And this is why I see all good politicians as great dreamers who use the masses to realize and achieve their dreams at all cost.

The dynamics of politics in democracy are quite different when you beckon the terrain of Africa. The way the white man plays his football is practically, different from the football tricks of the black man.

The practice of democracy with its dynamics and styles befits the white man but, when it comes to the black man, he chooses how he must play it to his own selfish interest.

The black man hurts and kills in the dynamics of his own kind of politics while the white man prefers to air his opinions, views and ideas in order to change the status quo.

Furthermore, the black man assassinates his political opponents in order to be in power and the rest of the game would be for him to rig the elections just to be in power.

But why does he have the eagerness to be in power? He does this because of amassing wealth and riches so that he can sabotage emphatically, his political opponents as well as the masses.

It's the masses that I feel empathy for and I had commiserated with quite a number of those ignorant verander or grassroots boys who strained themselves to put someone who did not care at all about their daily needs in power as their Member of Parliament or President.

We are often fooled on many accounts in the highlights and comments of many a promise from our politicians and aspiring presidential candidates. In view of all this, I have placed an unmovable embargo upon myself not to get close to such politics in the nooks and crannies of my home country. For many have lost their lives in making sure that the man they preferred came to rule as president.

The quest for power and money is followed gradually, and cannot be eschewed for any other thing. One of my childhood friends, who I would call Tom, died trying to argue with another friend of his that the best presidential candidate for the presidency was the one he preferred which was the flag bearer of his party.

This is how other Toms, Dicks and Harrys also, offer their lives as sacrificial lambs, which are led or shepherded before the slaughter in the full glare of the butcher. There are always, escape goats during politics in many parts of the Continent of Africa and the times when we should avoid such wrong dynamics in politics are yet to be with all and sundry.

It will take another generational revolution like the June Fourth Uprising's which was led by the former President of Ghana, the late Jeremiah John Rawlings of blessed memory to convert the narrative in different ways.
