1 CHAPTER 1 THE LUCKY STEP

This is the story of 4 inquisitive, multi-talented, and Hardworking girls From different families. Sarah and Athena were sisters who used to live alone at their house because their parents died earlier due to cancer. They were still studying and working hard for a better future and to fulfil their parent's wishes.

They wrote blogs to earn money, pay school fees, and meet their expenses. On the other side, Sierra and Alana lived with their mother in a shabby but lovable two-storey house. Their life wasn't that good because their dad left them when they were just toddlers. It sounds comforting to them as well that they have a supportive, soft-hearted, and well-educated mom. their mom did a job for their school fees and expenses.

As the girls were childhood friends there were good understanding, trust, and unforgettable memories. Soon Monday came into their life- y'know one of the busiest and most exhausting days for everyone, especially for students. When the school has arranged a fiesta to refresh everyone's schedule. What they're gonna do is students will make groups and the judges and audience will judge the performances, each student will perform. After that, they will vote altogether to make the best one win! The one who wins will be awarded an unrevealed Surprise. Based on this fact everyone tried the best of what they could.

" Athena, for God's sake! Wake up! This is the 1286398th time I'm requesting you. You have to listen to me this time. Are you listening or not?" said Sarah

"lemme sleep some more please."

" Fine. Then have your prize in your dream house. I'm going, sis! I hope to not see you again bud!" said Sarah aggressively.

As Athena heard this, she got shocked and sat up and shouted " W-W-What?! Is it Monday?! Are we late? noooo!!!It can't be!"

"For your kind information, yes, it's Monday, and we're late so please stop acting and go dress up yourself." Athena ran straight to the bathroom and refreshed herself. Sarah went to the tv lounge where there was a dining table and beside it, there was an attached kitchen. She went there in search of food.

As she opened her fridge, she saw that there was nothing special to eat, like there were just fruits, milk, and cereal in the refrigerator and a pack of ice cream in the freezer.

"Hm…ice cream?" *Sighing " she's never gonna be changed",

the ice cream lover came to the lounge after dressing herself up and called

"Sarah!Sarah!Sa-"

" easy! easy, I'm here, in the kitchen!"

Athena went into the kitchen and asked for food

" breakfast! Where's breakfast? Gimme breakfast. C'mon"

"Oh really? You're still hungry after that pack of ice cream?" Sarah said and looked at her face suspiciously.

" Um…we're late. I'm going you better come. Bye."

Athena left the house and after her, Sarah. On the other hand, Sierra and Alana woke up early and dressed while their Mom was making cereal for a quick breakfast for them

" Sierra! Alana! Come and have your breakfast or you'll get late" said Mrs. Arnold

"On the way mom!" Replied Alana.

Among them Sierra is the laziest sister, that's why until Alana scolds her she never works fast

" hurry up snail! I don't wanna be late today!" Said Alana

" Heyy!! I'm not a snail!! never call me that again" said Sierra while tying her laces.

When Sierra combed her hair she quickly grabbed her hand and took her downstairs to the dining table. Sierra didn't get a chance to even shout. When she stopped near the dining table and freed her hand she said

" hey watch out! What's this behaviour?"

" I thought you'll reach here after 100 centuries so...I took you here. You must be obliged!" giggled Athena

"Blah!blah!blah!blah!blah!" Teased Sierra.

"Why are you wasting your time? come and have your breakfast." Said Mrs. Arnold.

"Sorry, I think we have to skip our breakfast." Said Sierra.

"But-"

" don't worry, we'll get something else to eat" comforted Alana.

"Love you," said Alana and Sierra while hugging their mother.

"Love you too, dear. ok, now you shall leave. Time is running up." said Mrs. Arnold

" Bye mom." Said Alana

"Bye! Take care and wish you the best of luck!"

They said goodbye and jumped on their bicycles and went to their school. At the school gate, there was a guard to protect and watch over the school. After Sierra and Alana reached there, they parked their bicycles and went Infront of the main gate. As the guard opened the main gate a huge, noisy, crowded fiesta scenery came into sight. Everyone was in a hurry going backstage. Parents and judges were taking their seats, teachers were arranging chairs, everyone was behind the stage, announcers were revising their announcements, groups were changing their costumes and rehearsing their acts and stall keepers were settling their stalls. They were shocked but the first thing they were going to do was to find their team. After searching in the crowd they found Sarah and Athena behind backstage

" hey Sierra! Alana! Across here!" Called Athena.

Both arrived there to get their clothing.

"Hey, we're finally here!" Alana exclaimed.

"Our turn is coming so it'd be sufficient to put on our dress. right?" Suggested Sarah.

"Alright! Have you brought the costumes?" Asked Alana.

"Here."

Sarah put her hand on her bag and took out a clown suit and handed it to Alana and Sierra.

"I don't wanna wear this one. c'mon gimme another one." Requested Sierra.

" What?!" Said Sarah.

"I said gimme another one."

" There is no other clothing."

" What do you mean?"

" I mean everyone is going to wear this dress."

" No way!" Rejected Sierra,

" Yes, way! Go and change the dress, otherwise, our turn will be abolished." Sierra looked at Athena.

"What can I say?" Athena shrugged.

"Fine. I'll do it." Agreed Alana.

Nevertheless, Sierra rejected it and said

"but I'm not gonna do this! Never!"

Alana asked her, "Can't you do this…for our friendship? please?"

Sierra thought for a while and agreed "O…k!"

Finally, they changed their dresses and waited at Backstage. Until their names were called out

"For the next performance, please welcome 'lazy bees' with a big round of applause!"

Their names were called out and they moved towards the stage proudly. They glared at each other and started their performance. Everything was going well until Athena saw the ice cream stall. She got deflected by the ice cream stall and ruined the performance

" what are you doing?!" Muttered Sierra.

Athena forgot the step, became unbalanced, and fell on her members. Luckily, it felt like they gave a hug to each other and slipped on the ground. They stood up and felt embarrassed. First, there was a pin-drop silence and when together they bowed down, judges stood up and appreciated them. They took a subtle breath of relief, smiled, and got off the scene. They were shocked that their one mistake altered their comfort. Their class teacher-Martha appreciated them and said

" well done! By the way, I wasn't- even though no one wasn't expecting that kind of ending. I'm proud of you!"

"Thanks. Thank you so much for your appreciation" said Alana.

" Okay, now go backstage and change your dress."

They went backstage and changed their dresses. After feeling comfortable they went to the audience and sat there to watch other performances. Everyone sat except Athena

"C'mon sit here bud!" Said Alana.

Athena smiled and made a requesting face.

"What?" Asked Alana

" she wants ice cream." Said Sarah looking into her eyes.

"Oh, my cute lovely intelligent sis! You're so sweet. You're so-"

"Alright! enough for ice cream. Lemme go and bring snacks. What's your mood?" giggled Sarah

"We're Okay with popcorn?" Said Sierra.

"Fine. Lemme bring popcorn and ice cream." Said Sarah and left her seat.

Then Athena sat on one of the seats while Sarah went in search of snacks. She went to a popcorn stall. Then she went to buy ice cream. As she brought and turned back, she saw her senior Lisa. They were not in a good relationship with each other.

"Hello, Sarah!" Growled, Lisa.

Sarah didn't want to spoil her mood so she just wanted to leave the place but Lisa was supposed to tease her.

" Uh! Ah! You can't leave without my permission. C'mon, have permission from me."

"Get aside!"

"I said get permission from me!!"

" Better let me go cuz I don't wanna call an ambulance." Said Sarah.

This made Lisa agitated and she split her ice cream and popcorn. Everyone was watching, Martha, other teachers, and her friends came to quit the argument. Sarah pushed her, and like this, the Argument changed into horrible revenge. Sarah's friends stopped her from one side and Lisa's friends stopped her on the other side.

"Stop it! Stop it! I said." Scolded Martha.

"Behave yourself both of you! Performances are still running on the stages. What will others think? Is this what we told you?! And Lisa! You, can't you stop this?"

"She started it!" Blamed, Lisa.

"I didn't ask who started. I said it's enough! She had complained that many times but I ignored it and told her to ignore it. Better not do it again. Or you will get alone." Martha Said in a hurt voice.

"Now go, both of you."

"But-" excused Lisa,

"I said go! please let things go in the right way!" Said Martha ignoring Lisa.

Lisa left in anger but Sarah was still there.

"You alright?" Asked, Athena.

Sarah nodded and said

"Yep. Let's go back to the seats. It's no use standing here."

They left the stall and ran to the audience again. They sat and enjoyed the performances. However, they were also worried about their results. Later that fiesta ended. Everyone started to go home and the judges were discussing what they felt about the performances. Tomorrow winners would be declared openly so everyone was just praying to win. Girls see each other off.

"It was a nice day. We did it well, time to go! See ya!" Said Alana.

" Bye! See ya, sweetie." Wished Athena.

"Take care and forget what the hell happened today. Hmm?" Comforted Sierra.

Sarah smirked and said, "I don't care what she did!"

"That's my girl!" Cheered Sierra.

They laughed and went happily home, waiting for the result to come.
