3 Learning through Feeling

*Bang*

A small figure shot backwards at a speed nearly impossible to see with a human's sight flew into a metal wall with a loud bang.

Eliane stood up, her arm hanging limply at her side with a bit of blood running out of the corner of her mouth.

She snapped her arm into place with a soft hiss while picking up a sword a few feet away.

She pointed it forward, standing impossibly still.

Her father, Alexander held a plain sword standing casually with the sword pointed at the ground a few meters away.

"Just because we're faster and stronger than humans doesn't mean we can act randomly without skill, remember that vampire who brought us food a few days ago?"

Eliane nodded and leapt, closing the distance between them, and slashing at him.

*Clang*

He simply swung the sword, and with a loud clang, Eliane was repelled.

Fortunately she flipped and kicked of the wall when she nearly collided with it.

She landed, in a defensive stance as she eyed her father for any sudden change in motion or expression.

Alexander however showed no emotion on his face as he shifted his weight.

"He's dead, unless he ran off, which I'm sure he didn't, he'd have checked in by now."

Alexander charged and swept his sword at her in the middle of the sentence.

Instead of taking the weight and becoming one with the wall, Eliane crouched backwards and rolled away, swinging the blade as she rolled to her feet.

Alexander turned and blocked the blade, his foot lashed out nearly instantly, catching her in the stomach.

Blood trickled down her lips as she flew like a cannon ball, straight into a wall.

She crumbled to the floor like a corpse, unable to move as she lay there gasping.

'I didn't want to take the blow head on, now my spine is probably broken, as well as some of my ribs.'

A blood bag appeared with the tube in her mouth as she lay there gasping painfully.

"I know it may hurt, but you must learn to protect yourself. As a vampire, and as a noble."

"Normal vampires don't get their bodies recreated when they're Turned, that privilege is solely for nobles.

The ache in her spine and ribs started to subside as she sucked the blood out the tube hungrily.

"Regular vampires die when stabbed through the heart, nobles survive but enter hibernation, and you'd die when you're decapitated or caught out in the sun. That's why you need to learn to defend and attack with blades."

Eliane groaned and latched onto his hand, after pulling herself up, she glared at him before punching out at him trying to catch him unaware.

His eyes widened for an instant before he caught her palm with a gloating look. She snarled and tried to throw another punch, but before she could carry out the action, he swung her over his head, spun and grabbed her by the neck with him standing behind her.

"I almost forgot, one more lesson... We only die to decapitation or the sun, but we can be rendered unconscious..."

She struggled but his limbs locked her in place like iron, well not iron, she could mold and dent iron with her bare hands.

A hiss escaped her lips as she felt uncomfortable being trapped like this, a predator would hate to be trapped.

"A broken neck, or a bullet or blade to the head will do you in, I'll just demonstrate it for you as I feel the best lessons come through feeling."

Even if she couldn't see him, she could feel the smile in his voice.

"Wait no, don't do th-.."

*Crack*

Her body went limp and Alexander caught before she fell to the floor.

"Did you have to go that far?" Cassandra took her from Alexander and disappeared through the door.

---

When she woke, her neck was stiff. She rubbed her neck while heading downstairs with an annoyed look.

"Little sis, a broken neck got you so upset, well don't worry, I didn't agree with that method either."

Daniel rubbed her head while enjoying her soft hair with a satisfied smile.

"My neck still hurts." The aching subsided rapidly and became a thin dull pain left behind before fading.

She ducked under his hand and slipped into the kitchen.

Cassandra was baking with a smile on her face as she held a plate with cookies with animal shapes out to Eliane.

"I was bored so I wanted to bake something, but I only had these so I baked them anyway."

She waved her hand and gestured for her to take one.

Eliane took one and nibbled on it slowly and her eyes widened.

"It's good!" She looked at Cassandra with an amazed expression.

"I originally thought I would only drink blood, but I can also eat." Eliane said, grabbing another cookie.

Cassandra smiled and winked at her.

"You should go out and play, if Alexander sees you, he'll make you train again."

Eliane shivered and spun around.

"Need a car?" Cassandra threw a key to her as she ran out the door.

She went into the garage and drove a Lykan Hypersport out of the garage and sped off down the road.

After an hour of randomly driving, she stopped outside a mall.

Lots of people stopped and gawked at the car as it slowed down and parked.

Learning and comprehension was easy for vampires and Elizabeth and Daniel took turns teaching her and she learned within a few minutes, even drifting wouldn't be to much of a problem.

She got out of the car and walked towards the mall when a bunch of rich looking kids stepped in front of her.

"Nice car, which family's daughter are you?"

"Oi, could you even see over the steering wheel?"

"Mind if we look inside, we won't drive of with it."

Whether it was her appearance which was a beautiful young girl, or that she had no bodyguards, they came over to pick trouble.

After she had Turned, she never interacted with humans other than feeding on them.

She looked at the group with disdain in her eyes. A flaw that human hunters - those that tracked down and killed vampires relied on.

Vampires disdained humans, how could they possibly see humans as their equal?

They sometimes fell prey to their arrogance, however most vampires looked down on humans.

"Move." She sat coldly with her eyes narrowed.

To her, her appearance and voice was normal, but to humans it was a ignited a bundle of desire and lust.

Not only was her voice perfect, her body and face was as well, not a flaw could be found.

"Pressing down a cold beauty such as yourself will certainly be enjoyable, even if you look young, you aren't that young." One strode out and said while licking his lips.

If Daniel were here, he'd have punched this guy to hell while saying, 'You dare have designs on my cute little sister?'

Just as she was about to deal with these fools, a voice came from the entrance of the mall.

"Oliver, are you picking on people again with your useless lackeys?" The voice was beautiful, not quite at the level of Eliane, or any of her family members, but for a human it would be considerably pleasant.

A girl dressed in designer clothes pushed her way through and grasped Eliane's hand.

Her hand wasn't to much bigger but the warmth entranced Eliane a bit.

She allowed herself to be lead out, better to get through it without violence after all.

As Alexander drilled into her, "Vampires are prone to violence as we are more brutal and savage than humans, take care with your interactions with them."

They stopped at the entrance with the girl releasing her hand.

She give a polite smile and thanked her in a small voice.

"No need for thanks, they always try to bully people, that car you drove is expensive don't you have bodyguards?" She asked while looking at the shops they passed for clothes.

"I do, but they aren't here right now, I snuck out." She stuffed the keys into her pocket and looked around for clothes as well.

"I'm Jessica, and you?" Her eyes swept across her face before darting somewhere else.

"Eliane... Eliane Reeves." Eliane looked up at the dark sky from the skylight above without an expression.

"Nice to meet you Eliane." Jessica smiled while Eliane just nodded.
