1 Chapter One

Roselyn waked up with her eyes widened and filled with tears, dry mouth, shaking, and scared. It was just another night filled with terrible nightmares.

Her mom reached her room running and was staring at the scene of Rose waking up sweating. She caressed her cheek and whispered: "again?"

Roselyn nodded to her, resigned. She slammed her eyes shut as meanwhile her father reached them. His footsteps were echoing in her room.

Both her adoptive parents were looking at each other, puzzled.

Roselyn was having the same nightmare repeatedly like a vicious circle for years now which made them seriously concerned. However, their solution to this problem was moving from city to city, preventing her to build significant connections with people, consequently making her feel even more lonely than she usually felt.

Her dreams were representing a group of people, all wearing a blue cloak which covered all their bodies, revealing just their eyes in a mysterious yet scary way. They were reaching her, whispering her name.

She let out an angry scream as she punched her pillow to realise her anger, that whole situation was driving her crazy. The length of her sleeping was decreasing night by night at the point that she was trying to keep herself awake as much as possible just not to have those dreams.

"We need to move." Her mom says looking at her dad. "Barcelona maybe?" He suggests, while a line appeared between his brows.

"No! Why? It's just a dre.." Roselyn murmured with all the strength left in her body.

Roselyn was confused, and even if she hated having nightmares, she couldn't indulge in the idea of moving again. Although she knew that there was something weird about her; she used to cry herself to sleep every night until she accepted the fact that she was probably insane.

Suddenly, the door opened up and an ancient man, very short with golden curly hair, appeared. He walked into the house, a gust of wind followed him making everything fall down on the floor. It seemed like a storm broke into their house. Roselyn's parents screamed in fear and rushed to hug her.

His frizzy gold hair was giving his appearance a comical look, but his gaze was serious. He looked around the room as if she was looking for someone in particular. When his gaze fell on Roselyn, he pointed at her.

Roselyn's eyes widened in fear. Was she still dreaming?

Her parents seemed, rather than surprised, scared and concerned.

They knew that time would have come before or later. Their constant moving to other countries couldn't keep Roselyn away from her destiny anymore.

It was time for her to follow her path.

"Good morning, Enchantress. Nice to meet you." The old man, with the appearance of a gnome, smiled lightly, staring at Roselyn.

'Enchantress? That isn't my name. I'm still probably having nightmares again, i should wake up.' Roselyn thought and quickly tried to close her eyes and force herself to fall asleep.

Her relatives went to hold her hand and were crying, whispering things to each other. But Roselyn's intent was to focus on trying to wake up from that terrifying nightmare, so wasn't paying much attention to them. In addition, the chaos that weird man caused was making the whispers inaudible.

"You just need to wake up Rose." she told to herself. Maybe by scratching her palm she could finally wake up.

The old man laughed, making fun of her "Oh, Rose. It's not a dream. Your parents didn't tell you? So I guess I have to do all the dirty work." He gazed at her parents with a reproachful, judgmental stare.

She kept clenching her first and closing her eyes, trying her best to wake up from that awful nightmare. However, once again her effort was completely in vain.

She squeezed her eyes and kept focusing her energies. It usually worked. She would wake up in a few seconds, but this time it seemed impossible.

Her rational mind couldn't accept or even consider the possibility that it may be all real.

Furnishings were trembling, things were precipitating down on the floor noisily. The wind broke in the house, bursting the door. Roselyn's relatives screamed in terror at the blow. Windows opened up, slamming. She was the one causing all that.

"Enchantress stop!" The old man yelled at her.

"Rose, stop! Please stop!" Her mom, Anne, cried, making Roselyn open her eyes immediately. Anne rarely cried, she just had cried on two occasions, when Roselyn found out she was adopted and when used to cope with her problems by developing alcohol problems.

"I'm so sorry," Anne kept crying, holding Roselyn's hand tight.

"For not having told you before, I was trying to protect you, love. I've done all this to keep you safe." She murmured in a low voice. Roselyn glanced up to her mom nervously.

"It's not a dream" Roselyn's dad finally spoken but his voice broke as soon as words left his mouth. She's never heard him sound that miserable before.

"What are you both talking about.." Roselyn murmured. She couldn't understand what was happening. What did they keep from her this time? They swore they would be fully honest with her when they confessed she was adopted.

The wind slowly stopped, leaving her room in destruction. All her childhood toys were in pieces on the floor. Insects and leaves were thrown by the wind everywhere.

"You will see your parents soon. I promise." The man said, his mouth curved into a plastic smile.

Before she can say anything the gnome moved his hands circularly and suddenly, they appeared in a lecture hall.

It looked like a vast library. But the books were floating, every book had a different size and color, and the titles were indecipherable.

"Hello, miss Rose" An old lady appeared in the center of the room followed by two younger boys. Because of their flawless smooth skin, she could easily deduce they couldn't be much older than her.

One of them looked at Roselyn from head to toe. He had red hair, blue eyes and was very tall. The other one was emanating a charming look. He was still tall, but not as tall as the other guy. He had beautiful long black hair that laid on his muscled shoulders. His eyes were of an intense blue, and they seemed to be capable of looking through her like if her skin was as delicate as a mirror.

His breathtaking appearance impressed Rose, making her feel slightly attracted to him.

The lady had grey curly hair, small green eyes and a huge shining smile.

"Is she even English?" The guy with ginger hair said, rolling his eyes, bothered by Rose's quietness.

"I am," She replied, looking at them and folding her arms.

"but I don't even know who you all are. Not that I care. I just want to go home and sleep, right now." She continued in an annoyed, brusque tone of voice. She wasn't good at being kind, if she had a talent that would be act defensive and keep people away in order not to get hurt.

"Nice to meet you, Rose. I'm Margareth." The lady smiled to her, friendly. Her hand went to touch Roselyn's long dark hair, causing her pajamas to turn into a uniform.

Rose backed off, scared, looking at the old woman uneasily.

'If she could change her clothes, what other worse things could she do?', she thought, creasing her browns.

The blue-eyed guy chuckled at her reaction.

Roselyn's major concern was about Mark, her boyfriend. She had all their anniversary planned perfectly for months, she couldn't oversleep much longer.

"Mark can wait." The guy who was laughing, said.

"Is she thinking of her boring boyfriend now?" The ginger guy jabbered, rolling his eyes. "She's insane."

"How many times do I have to remind you that this is not a dream?" The old man who brought her there, whispered to her ear.

"Okay, so sleepy girl. Let's go. I don't have time to waste." The blue-eyed boy ordered and headed toward the door, making a gesture to follow him.
