155 Selfish!

"Hey, buddy! Let's trade Movement techniques, I will give you my Snappy feet technique in exchange for yours! I can even let you keep Loyd if you agree." Nick proposed while chasing.

Loyd nearly cried tears of blood. The Snappy feet technique was his, to begin with, but Nick was selling him with it, off for another technique?! Oh, the cruelty!

"No, don't do it Mr. Assassin sir! That Snappy technique is practically useless compared to your technique!" Loyd began advising Shadow One against this exchange. You've got to be kidding. On the off-chance Shadow One agreed to Nick's offer, then wouldn't he have to remain their captive?

"Shut up, Loyd!" Nick grew upset. He had come all the way over here trying to save the bastard, but what was the bastard doing?! He was actually trying to prevent Nick from getting nice things?! What a selfish and self-centered asshole! It seemed that everyone in this world was selfish except for him.

'Master, there are intruders at the Layer! It's Nick, we have got him. Please rush back as soon as you can! I am leading him to you so you can meet him on the way!' Shadow One tried to send Master Crow a message, but it seemed he was still out of range as there was no reply.

"It's pointless to send your Master a message! Your Master is someone in the Immortal Realm, and although it has only been about fifteen minutes since he rushed out, the distance he would cover in that time isn't something you can catch up with, in a short amount of time. And don't forget he is still traveling so your message will never get to him! Hehe!" Nick had the Shadow Radio turned on just in case Master Crow did reply to Shadow One. But when he heard the lack of reply, he felt relieved and his confidence got boosted.

"You! How did you know I was sending Master Crow a message?!" Shadow One stopped running and darted a glare at Nick. The reason he stopped running was because Nick's words made sense, he could never catch up to his Master. So, he decided that he might as well capture Nick himself and wait for his Master to return and deal with the rest of the matter!

"Finally stopped, huh? Do you know how stupid you look when you run while carrying another man like that?! You're utilizing the fireman carry, which means you are carrying him over your shoulder, and every time you move up and down Loyd's face keeps smacking your butt! Even if you are enjoying it you should at least understand how he might be feeling! Can't you just kill the man with his dignity intact?!" Nick couldn't help but feel sorry for Loyd. It was such an awkward position to be in as a person.

Loyd felt like he should one day take some time to teach Nick what it meant to have some sympathy. Shadow One did indeed put Loyd in a very awkward position when he carried him like that. But Loyd was too busy worrying about his life and being sold off to realize it. Yet as always, Nick was there to add to his already compromising position by reminding him.

"I asked you a question! And you should answer it!" Shadow One wasn't one for the games. He didn't care if Loyd was kissing his ass or licking it because, at the end of the day, his clothes were still on...

"Fine, no need to get so worked up. I knew you were trying to contact you Master because that would be what I would do in your situation. And since Shadow Two has already told me about the Shadow Radio skill your organization uses, it wasn't that hard to guess." Nick approached closer and closer as he spoke to Shadow One. He wasn't going to tell Shadow one that he could use the Shadow Radio as well, because keeping it a secret might come in handy.

"Shadow Two, that little brat!" Shadow One cursed.

"Wait, can I ask you something that's been bothering me?" Nick asked, but before Shadow One could refuse Nick continued, "Why do you keep covering for Shadow Two even after he betrayed you? Didn't you hear that message he sent you guys on Shadow Radio? About how he peed in your Master's canteen?!" Nick couldn't figure this out.

"Humph! Who hasn't peed in that goddamn canteen?! In fact, before Shadow Two came, we each took turns peeing in it to prove we were brave men. But Shadow Tow didn't get to be part of that since he joined us later on in life. I am pretty sure he heard us talking about it and peed in that canteen to feel like he belonged, sigh…" Shadow One looked a little sad as he thought about this.

If Shadow Two had heard all this, he would have bawled his eyes out. For years he had felt guilty and fearful that one day his dirty little secret would come out but it turns out it was something all his fellow brothers had done?! Heard you and did it to feel like I belonged?! What kind of fucking nonsense was that?! Shadow Two did it because he was desperate and he needed to pee! Not like these other perverts who enjoyed feeding their Master their pee! And they called him the traitor?

"Uhh…" Nick didn't say anything more. But he didn't judge. Who in this universe didn't have a messed-up family? He himself had two kids with one having an unhealthy addiction to chocolate, and the other one dreaming of being the Harem king when he didn't even know what to do with women after they accepted his proposals!

Deboning Fist!

Nick had gotten close enough to Shadow One while he was busy telling Nick his life story. So, without further ado, Nick pounced and threw a fist at the Shadow one's right shoulder, which was carrying Loyd. Nick chose to attack there because that was the only place. he felt certain he could land a hit one without being dodged. Loyd's weight would make any dodging actions difficult.

But…against Nick's expectations, Shadow One actually threw Loyd to the side as if he was a rag doll and then took Nick punch with a smile. And yet, the usual sound of bones being dislocated or broken didn't enter Nick's ears. Instead, there was a subtle thump! As if Nick's punch had landed on a pillow.

"Brother, this is a misunderstanding. How about we talk about this, huh? I think a man of your stature shouldn't dirty himself by dealing with a low-life like me!" Nick immediately changed his stance.

Bang!

Shadow One didn't say a word, and his facial expression was still as water. But the shoulder that Nick's fist was resting on moved slightly and gave the fist a little shove. But that little shove was enough to fling Nick violently into a large boulder by the side.

Pffft!

Nick spat a mouthful of blood and looked at Shadow One in shock. How could someone at the peak of the transcendence realm be so powerful?!

"Do you really think I was running because I was scared of you? Come on, you can't be that stupid, right? I just don't want you to harm by brothers, that's all. But since trading with you will anger Master, I can only torture you until you give them up!" Shadow One looked like a totally different person once he started to fight.

Nick felt like something was wrong. Why did this man seem like the main character all of a sudden?! This might really confuse the readers if this was a novel. But since when were cultivators at the transcendence realm so powerful?! He had fought with his share of transcendence experts but none of them could come close to this the power Shadow one was displaying.

"Stop right there! I will come to you. You just wait right there and prepare yourself for an ass whopping!" Nick saw Shadow one walking over and screamed in anxiousness. He needed time to come up with a way to deal with Shadow One.

Nick then darted a glance at Loyd, who laid sprawled on the ground. Loyd's cultivation seemed restricted by some weird talisman that was stuck on his chest.

Snap! Snap!

Nick began sprinting towards Loyd. He wanted to free him so they could face Shadow One together.

"Hmm." Shadow One didn't seem interested in stopping Nick and just watched him as he tore up the talisman on Loyd's chest.

"Prepare yourself, Loyd! We will fight him together!" Nick got into a boxing stance as soon as he finished speaking.

Snap! Snap! Snap!

Loyd was running away.

"…" Nick felt a little lost. Since when was everyone competing against him for the title of the biggest asshole?!

"Brother, run! He's a monster!" Loyd made sure he had the lead before he reminded Nick to run as well. You've got to be kidding. He remembered how easily Shadow One had subdued him when he got captured last time. Loyd didn't even get to land an attack and was smacked silly before he could see Shadow One's movements.

Nick knew that running now was pointless. Loyd could run away because he wasn't the main target but the same couldn't be said for him.
