34 Unrevealed Marriage

Hou Wei Yan came in early the next morning as she had slept early and peacefully yesterday, which is quite the opposite of the even strict-looking Fang Tao beside her.

She looked at him before entering her office and smiled. "Why don't you stay inside this time? I'm sure none of them would dare do something after yesterday"

"They are not allowed to take a single step inside" he firmly said and proceeded to stand still in his spot yesterday. Hou Wei Yan can only sigh at his stubbornness.

"Suit yourself. I have surgery later so you can stay inside my office while I'm out" she said and entered the office.

Shortly after, Xie Na came running in with a big smile plastered on her face. Of course, before getting in, she greeted the stone man by the door with a smile. Fang Tao simply glanced at her when she entered the room and proceeded to his job.

"Wei Wei~"

She suddenly shuddered as she heard her tone because she knew...she knew it was trouble. The half-signed paper on her desk was left unattended as she took a glance at her best friend who already had a huge smile on her face. "What is it this time?"

A pout escaped Xie Na as she heard this. Without warning, she grabbed Wei Yan by the hand and lead her to the sofa. "Wei Wei, you still didn't share anything about your mini-vacation with me. I was waiting, really really really waiting yesterday"

This time, Wei Yan sighed. She wasn't allowed to reveal their marriage! She was forbidden to reveal it and she knew it was better to keep it hidden from Xie Na as well. Of course, she's her best friend and she's good at keeping secrets but she's a blabbermouth when they are together that people eavesdropping might find out in an instant. Yes, Xie Na is dangerous for the secret!

She hugged Wei Yan's arms and rubbed her face on her shoulders. "Come on, Wei Wei~. Xie Na wants to know~"

"Xie Na, something did happen on my vacation" Hou Wei Yan said with all honesty. The little girl beside her looked up and let go of her hand. "But its a part of my secrets even you cannot know"

The room fell into utter silence after Hou Wei Yan said this. Xie Na and her are the best of best friends but even though their relationship was at its best, they still have secrets that must be kept from each other.

She understood Wei Yan. When asked to keep a secret, she knows how to weigh whether it's best a secret or not for Xie Na. She must have thought it was dangerous to talk about it so it's best if she doesn't know.

For this, Xie Na kept silent not because she felt offended but rather proud of her best friend. She knew the arrangements of Ji Li Zhao and she feels great that Hou Wei Yan knew its best nobody knows.

"Okay, if that's what you think is best" she said with a smile. "By the way, what time will you finish today?"

"I only have one operation today, so I'll be done by 4 pm at most. Why?"

Xie Na stood up from her seat after hearing this. The wicked smile she had earlier was back making Wei Yan sweat. "What are you planning again you witch!"

She shrugged with her smile. "Nothing much. Some of our high school classmates are gathering for drinks later, of course, I cannot go alone considering my ex is there" she said without restraint.

Hou Wei Yan helplessly looked at her. "You broke up ages ago, why can't you go alone? Besides don't you have a boyfriend. Him being there doesn't matter anymore"

"Oh come on. Wei Wei, it matters. Even if it was ages ago, he's still my ex. And when you meet your ex there will always be a battle" she defended while pointing at herself.

Yes, it's always a battle. Even if she feels nothing for him it's a matter of pride for a woman like her. She cannot allow him to brag about his love life nor can she be absent or they will make rumors of her avoiding him and linking it to something they call bitterness.

In her ex's case, she knew everything about humiliating her is possible.

"You just want me to go and defend you" she said with a sigh.

Xie Na looked at her with her puppy eyes and pout. "Wei Wei~ Don't abandon me. Besides, both of us haven't gone out since your return. Luckily I'm not on night shift today"

A sigh once more escaped from her lips as she stood up and headed back to her desk. "Okay, but I'm bringing Fang with me. I'm not allowed to go anywhere without him"

"No problem" she answered without delay. Besides, it's best if Fang is there so no one would dare lay a finger on both of them.

"So, is our great lady still single?" a question was asked all of a sudden as soon as Hou Wei Yan and Xie Na settled in their seat.

Fang who heard this suddenly turned alert. [ What are these guys after for asking such a question? ]

They were currently in the Pavilion, the music loud and somehow annoying to Fang's ears. The light was a bit dim replaced by the colorful color blast of the disco ball. Although everything was slightly off, Fang's vision was clear and he was focused on watching Hou Wei Yan. In case someone dares put up a trick or touch her a tiny bit, his backup Makio who was closely monitoring things would inform him.

Hou Wei Yan who was under her classmates' interrogation smiled before taking a sip of the drink Xie Na poured into her glass. "It's complicated"

Her classmates howled when she answered this. Most of them were already married. Those that remained single were the jerks of their class, their well-known playboys along with some innocent and busy professionals.

Ao Cheng who used to be Hou Wei Yan's suitor suddenly smirked when he heard this. "Then does that mean I can seduce you to break up?"

Her classmates all looked at her after he said this for they know just how much this man was obsessing over her. In the past, Ao Cheng was Hou Wei Yan's closest friend but the jerk took it as an opportunity to pursue her and shamelessly used their friendship as leverage. Of course, he was rejected by her but he was a persistent fellow who used the knowledge he gained from his friendship with her to the best of his abilities.

Hou Wei Yan merely smiled as she looked at Xie Na.

She was brought here to defend Xie Na but instead, she was thrown to the pack of wolves for them to feast on. If she knew Ao Cheng would come back from Manhattan she wouldn't have dared come!

For Pete's Sake! She's married and her husband's man is just there standing and observing them. She'll surely get in trouble if things go out of hand so she needs to think fast and avoid any commotion or any interaction with any man. Their marriage may be hidden and her husband's identity still a mystery, but she had promised loyalty and devotion to him. It may or may not anger him so it's better to be safe than sorry.

Of course, the perpetrator who brought her in was also panicking for a bit. She wasn't informed of this as well! Ji Li Zhao obviously will know about this which means she's doomed!

Now she has to block them to the best of her abilities since Fang cannot barge in considering Hou Wei Yan asked him to let her have this time with her classmates. She drank the substance in her glass before laughing at Ao Cheng. "You can't possibly seduce her. With that look of yours, you better stop dreaming. Besides whoever her man is, I think you won't compare"

Hou Wei Yan looked at her best friend and sighed. If only her marriage could be revealed she won't have to deal with such problems.

Lai Jinghua who heard Xie Na suddenly raised her brows. "You don't know him? You're her best friend, right? "

"That doesn't mean I know everything. Wei Wei deserves privacy as well" she said as she gulped down another shot. Afterward, she took a look at her ex who was staring down at her since earlier. "I respect her privacy unlike someone"

Her ex suddenly frowned at this but he said nothing and continued looking at her like a hyena. She smiled sweetly at him. "What's wrong Yao He? Seeing something good?"

Hou Wei Yan who was under their eyes earlier was freed when Xie Na said this. She doesn't know if she did it to divert their attention or she was just simply annoyed and ready for battle.
