Chapter 1Home Sweet Home, They Said

"Speech"

'Thoughts'

.....

"Hey mom, it's me again; Anna, your super duper adorable baby girl! How are you doing up there. I'm sure that you are having a blast making god wonder why he brought you to heaven when you party that hard, ey?," She glided her finger over the petite face of her beloved, a lady with a beautiful, blinding smile, her dimples carved deep showing how ecstatic she felt at the time the picture was taken.

"I'm doing extremely great, Dad is taking a good care of me, he loves me to bits that the others are getting jealous. He calls me, his little princess, can you believe that ma?! To call me that at my age, I'm dying from embarrassment over here! Even bro is obsessing over my wellbeing, Kinda annoying how they dote on me if I'm being honest, but don't worry about me, I'm suffocating from the overwhelming happiness." Her smile grew brighter, "Also, you know, my friends are as kind as always, we hang out all the time. Gosh, you should hear what they gossip about, doesn't make me proud that I'm participating in it, but it is funny as heck!" A chuckle escaped her as she reminisced the time she spends at school, sitting back on her bed. Hugging the pillow to her chest, "I can't believe that I'm only months away from graduating, I even managed to score a scholarship, can you believe it?! I mean what can I say, the brains run in the family!"

"Oh, and I saved enough from my part-time jobs to... move out. You were not really fond of the idea of me living alone, but I can finally be independent like I always wanted." She saluted her, and started packing her school bag, "And don't worry, this place will always be home to me!"

____________________________________________________________________________________

"Good Morning," She greeted her family who were seated at the dining table, "Would you look at that, the freeloader is finally up. Shame on you, to think that we provided you with the best accommodations, but you don't even do anything in return!" The haughty glare her step brother shot made her grit her teeth, "Uhh, I made sure to cook the breakfast before going back to the the room to get ready,"

The star of the football team rose his finely done eyebrow and pointed at the plate, "You mean this," Long fingers curled around the expensive looking fork, poked through the scrambled egg. The boy's round eyes narrowed, and he picked the plate up and spilled the content on the marbled floor. "Even the dog food looks better than this," His eyes twinkled with mirth as a marvelous idea struck him, "Dad, I know a way we could do to avoid wasting whatever this is! "

The middle aged man in his elegant suit, took his cold eyes from the newspaper, and regarded his son with an amused look. His plate was also left untouched.

"Enlighten me, boy."

The younger male reached for the other plate and spilled the food again, making a huge mess in the dining room. Standing up, he stepped over the food repeatedly, making the finely made food in a cluster of goo. "You," He pointed at Anna, then directed his index towards the wasted food. "Eat it,"

The girl paled at the command, balling her hands into fist, "P-Pardon?"

Her brother groaned in annoyance, but his cocky smirk was still there, "What, so now you are deaf? I'm saying eat it like the ungrateful mutt you are."

Rage was rattling the rusty cage within her, fighting against her rational side, 'Just smile it off'

'That brat should not speak to me like this!'

'Endure it like you always did.'

She took a deep breath, cooling down her inner beast. If she can just lay a hand on the brat and teach him a lesson, that'd be great. A forced smile strained her lips as she left to fetch a broom.

"What do you think you are doing?" His silky adored voice made her gut churn in hate.

In a kneeling position, her smile never falling off face, "I'm sorry?"

"I never said to clean it." He folded his bulging forearm. Oh, how she wished to stab a fork on the enlarged muscle which weirdly looked like one huge bubble, steroids she mused inwardly.

'Anna, focus' She reminded her self.

"E.A.T I.T," He repeated himself, and before she could sputter her rejection. Heavy hands pushed her head downwards with force she was surprised that the sissy brat had. It seems that those arms were not only for decoration, but they seriously looked so revolting.

The goo which was previously known as 'breakfast' was now smothering her face.

'Endure it,' She reminded herself, 'No use in raising over such taunting. Wearing an indifferent expression which irked the boy to no end, 'Small victories.'

Her hands were not as soft as the girls her age, she had blisters and broken nails. Skin was dry as a shriveled plant under the scorching sun, but they function the best. Anna cleaned the goo of her face with upmost ease, used to such...unrefined behaviour.

It took her a minute before she crouched down again and cleaned up the mess, she could feel them drilling a hole at the side of her head with their heated glares, "What a disgraceful creature ."

She can't disagree with that, she is after all a creature called: Homosapien. The older man huffed in annoyance resting in ignoring her, tormenting the little girl doesn't serve as an entertainment if she never reacted to it.

Her stepbrother on the other hand was hell-bent in prolonging the game, he threw his leather dress shoes over her head. "Clean them up, they smell like puke!"

'WHO THE HELL WEARS DRESS SHOES FOR SCHOOL?!'

Her hand tightened around the wooden handle, Anna swept the floor till she can see her reflection against it.

___________________________________________________________________________

She nodded her head to the 'family' and headed to school, not wanting to break her perfect attendance. It was also a secret that she lived in the same house as them because her dumb little brother was ashamed that she had a connection with them.

Defy The Alpha(s)

Two centuries after the Great War, peace between humans and werewolves was finally achieved, or so everyone believes. Werewolves reign like gods, and humans remain blissfully unaware of their true place in the new world order. To maintain this fragile balance, each year, a handful of "lucky" humans are selected from various districts to attend Lunaris Academy, a prestigious institution that promises glory, status, and a chance to mingle with the elite. Those chosen are hailed as the lucky few, destined to marry powerful alphas and rise as luna. This year, Violet Purple is among the chosen, much to everyone's surprise. For an orphaned girl adopted by a disgraced prostitute, this is a golden ticket to a better life or so she's told. But Lunaris Academy isn’t the paradise it’s painted to be. Everything Violet and her fellow humans have been taught is a lie. Humans are far from equal; they're pawns in a much larger game. The academy is nothing but a gilded cage, and the students are lambs led to slaughter, playthings for the alphas to toy with in their ruthless games. To make matters worse, Violet catches the attention of the most dangerous players in this game, the Terror Four: the Alpha of the North, Alpha of the South, Alpha of the East, and Alpha of the West. Each one is more dangerous, more twisted, and more powerful than the last. But even among themselves, the alphas are divided, each with their own deadly ambitions. Yet, they all have their eyes on her. They expect Violet to play along, to fall in line like the others who worship at their feet, to break under their games. But Violet isn’t like the others. She refuses to bow. She’ll defy them all.

"Really? Or is it because last night affected you so much that you couldn't stand being around me?" "Don't flatter yourself, Snow. You didn't affect me at all." He smirked, stepping closer. "Is that so?" His fingers brushed my chin, tilting my face up. My pulse quickened. "We're at work," I snapped, swatting his hand away. "This isn't professional." "You're my wife," he murmured. "You're supposed to obey me at all times." I bit back a retort, a hint of rebellion flaring within. Slowly, I stepped closer, letting my fingers graze his chest. His smirk wavered for a second when his wolf reacted and Snow bit his lips. "Careful, Boss," I purred seductively. "Don't hurt those lips. I'm sure plenty of girls would love to kiss them." Snow leaned down, his lips brushing my ear. "And you? Are you dying for a taste?" Caught off guard, I hesitated, then regained my composure as I looked him in the eyes. "Unlike other girls, I have strong resistance against—" I didn't get a chance to finish when Snow's lips crashed onto mine with a fierce kiss that left me breathless. *************** MATURE CONTENT Participating in the Viral Book Call Contest.
