19 Chapter 19 Comissioned by Wrath of Vajra

"Anyway, I imagine Beatrix will inevitably follow us anyway. So in terms of strength, we should be more than fine to deal with anything in the capital." I said as I felt Ereshkigal's essence pushing through my body with the sounds that were like the rattling of bones being shaken in a cage ringing out as Ereshekigal pulled herself into the physical world via a cage of bones and burnt bronze metal that she stepped outside of.

Ereshkigal of course took after her FGO counterpart as that's literally the only way I could see her and if Scathach's words about the gods taking after the way humanity looked at them were true. Then it made sense as Ereshkigal was a long almost forgotten goddess except for FGO bringing her to more modern relevance.

"Haaa! It's good to get out of Kur for a bit... And get away from Amaterasu and her stupid nonsense." Ereshkigal said joyfully as she looked outside and smiled at seeing the life filled surroundings.

Amaterasu had something of an extreme love/hate thing going on for Ereshkigal as for whatever reason the sun goddess saw her as an even more pitiful version of Izanami who she had a convoluted relationship, to say the least.

"So where is Tamamo and can we leave before she gets here?!" Ereshkigal asked quickly and looked around furtively like nearly speaking the fox woman's name would call upon the so-called blessing that Amaterasu gave me when she descended into my soul.

Amaterasu had on her arrival seen that I still had plenty of powers I still hadn't mastered and decided that as the leader of the Shinto Pantheon that she would give me the best gift and blessing she could... A mortal piece of herself in the form of the demigoddess that was ever so close to being a true goddess in Tamamo-No-Mae.

Yeah her blessing was a fox wife... And she was as clingy as I dreaded.

"Tamamo was busy in the kitchens cooking Jake a lasagna!" Delta volunteered eagerly and I eyed her as she giggled nervously.

"Delta..." I said slowly and Delta crouched and started screaming for forgiveness.

"Delta is sorry! She couldn't help it and ate all the yummy crunchy edges of the lasagna! Please don't leave Delta at home, Delta will be a good girl!" She cried out looking up at me with teary blue eyes and I took a deep breath to push down the desire to shoot her in the face with the squirt bottle I carried in my pocket dimension... Delta screamed as my hand twitched and with a whining noise, I sprayed her in the face with ice-cold water.

"Bad Delta." I said duly and then Ereshkigal groaned as the door to my office was dramatically thrown open.

"Tamamo the foxiest of foxes is here and what do I hear about my husband running off to the capital?" Tamamo asked as she strode into the room before her lips curled up at the sight of Ereshkigal and then she smiled like nothing was wrong as she spoke. "Oh dear are you going to the capital to actually get a fitting coffin to finally stick the stubborn walking skeleton into the ground where she belongs?" She said snidely.

Ereshkigal merely smiled as she eyed the fox woman and then looked at her large fluffy nine-tails as she spoke. "Oh no, we are actually taking you to the Vet to be spayed and neutered so you won't be howling in the middle of the night anymore."

Silently the sun's divine flames appeared in Tamamo's outstretched hand and likewise from Ereshkigal's shadow, haunting ghosts, skeletal dragons and other monsters rolled around as her connection to the land of Kur was pulled to the foreground.

"Enough both of you," I said harshly cutting through their bullshit as I flared my own magical power and seeing as they were all technically a part of myself I was able to suppress their power in the mortal world. "Haaaa..." I sighed shaking my head wryly. "In the mortal world, we have Zeta and Delta always fighting and in the divine world, the goddesses Ereshkigal and Amaterasu fight like bickering mortals just the same." I said disappointedly with Ereshkigal and Tamamo just rolling their eyes.

"Anyway let's get going. Alpha tell everyone that Epsilon is in charge while we are gone." I said as Epslion was the most mature and best at leading people en mass. Granted Beta was more intelligent but she wasn't much for crowds and was better for helping leaders instead of leading herself.

"I will meet you at the carriage." Alpha acknowledged as she strode out of the room and I myself left my office to get changed from my casual shorts and t-shirt that I wore to work in my office to my more formal church clothes adorned with jewels and other filagree.

While I was getting changed I was well aware of Tamamo just standing beside me as she helped straighten out my clothes and I had literally given up when it came to having my full privacy all the time when I lived in a mega compound stretching a few miles with around a thousand warrior women and girls who were trained to be sneaky if they wanted to be.

"So Husband, I have a question," Tamamo stated and I grunted as I slid my shoes on. "You have quite close to a thousand nubile young women who look up to you and worship the ground you walk on... To say nothing of myself, why haven't you taken any of us to bed yet?" She asked bluntly and I looked up at her with a flat face.

"I have a dozen voices in the back of my head... I don't need commentary from some degenerate gods and goddesses in the back of my head coaching me on how to sleep with a woman." I said honestly annoyed before I looked at Tamamo.

"How would you feel if your mother Amaterasu was watching and began coaching us both at the same time?" I questioned and Tamamo's face turned red at the scandalous thought.

Silence filled the room for a moment before one of the newer gods spoke up with a calm but mirth-filled voice "Bro all you had to do was ask for privacy, and you can shut the connected by putting a mental manifestation of a wall around your soul." The voice of Buddha spoke and I stilled as gods and goddesses rioted within me and began to fight Buddha within myself. But he was the strongest god within me so he was able to hold his own and was even booming with laughter as he fought Herakles, Scathach, Amaterasu, and more without giving ground.

"Fucking assholes. Gods are all dicks and Goddesses are all petty." I cursed as I did what Buddha said and just by imagining a brick wall surrounding the ball of light that was my soul, all the sounds of Buddha fighting Scathach ended... Giving me fucking pure mental silence for the first time since I got Herakles and Hecate within my soul.

"Jake... You alright?" Tamamo asked unsurely as I eyed my fox wife with new eyes knowing I didn't have literally a dozen people watching and judging my every moment.

"Yup I am fucking fantastic now," I said before leaning in and kissing Tamamo on her lips making her freeze before I literally skipped out of the room humming a jaunty tune.

-

But once I got into our magical carriage I calmed down knowing that just because I was able to put up a filter for the gods and goddesses that resided within me. I knew that doing something stupid was just that stupid, so I just enjoyed the lap pillow from Ereshkigal as Tamamo pouted on the other side of the carriage as Delta, and Alpha were on another padded bench.

"So whats the king's name anyway?" I asked and Alpha responded quickly as she flipped over a piece of paper.

"His name is Klaus Midgar, and although he isn't an enemy, he isn't an ally as he is silently capitulating to the Cult's actions in taking kids off the street to do whatever they are doing to them." Alpha explained and I hummed in thought as I considered the possibility of recruiting all those clones of the Elf Hero that was under the church of this worlds Goddess Beatrix and not that 'goddess' of war Beatrix that was still in the dog house after her carving out my heart.

"Hmm either way I bet we will be running into the princesses Iris and Alexia again... And if Claire hears, we are around she will come running I bet." I said wryly as Claire Kageno had seemingly instead of developing her would-be bro-con tendencies, she instead developed to being low-key Yandere for me due to me, you know making her not a misshapen flesh monster.

Either way, this capital visit was going to be interesting especially if the Cult decides to do its little game of kidnapping Alexia to test if her blood was useful for enhancing their Diabolos pills. 'Maybe I should see if Alexia would be interested in contracting the more martial gods I had within me now?' I wondered before my mind shuttered to a stop as Ereshkigal started brushing her hand through my hair and began massaging my scalp.
