Chapter 5: Kiryuin

"That's it for today." Sae said as she left the class.

'Time to go.' Hikaru thought as he got up from his seat.

"Hayasaka-san, will you come with us?" Kikyo asked Ai.

"Sorry, what were you saying? I wasn't paying attention."

"Jeez! Anyway, do you want to go to the convenience store with us? Mei and I need to buy some basic supplies."

"Ah sure, I'll come with you." Ai said as she glanced at Hikaru who had just walked out of the class.

"Orbit." Ai murmured as a small particle of light formed in her hand before vanishing.

"Let's go!" Ai said as she left the class followed by her friends.

"I would like a Bubble Tea and a strawberry tart, please." Hikaru said to the barista as he paid for his drink and tart.

Hikaru is currently inside Pallet, a popular cafe situated inside Keyaki Mall. It's a well-known cafe among the female students where one could buy sweets and beverages and can even meet up for whatever reason. Simply saying, it's a popular cafe and meeting place among the students.

"Enjoy your food." The barista said while smiling warmly.

"Thanks." Hikaru said as he searched for a seat.

"Do you mind if I sit here?" Hikaru said as he approached a girl

"Hmm? Sure." The girl said as she continued sipping on her drink in a carefree manner.

"It's nice to meet you senpai, my name is Hikaru Akiyama from Class 1-D."

"Ah, a freshman, but what's with the sudden introduction?" The girl asked.

"I was wondering if you might be interested in acquiring a few extra points."

"Heh? I see, my name is Fuka Kiryuin. it's nice to meet you Akiyama-san."

Fuka is a beautiful, charming young girl with crimson eyes and long platinum blonde hair.

"The pleasure is all mine Kiryuin-san."

"So what do you need?" Fuka asked.

"What can you tell me about the S-System?"

"What makes you think I am going to tell you anything about it?" Fuka said as she looked at Hikaru weirdly.

"My apologies, It seems I didn't phrase it correctly. What I meant is, what can you tell me about the S-System in exchange for 30,000 points."

"Not enough."

"It's the most I can afford to lose currently Kiruin-san. And we have known each other for only a few minutes and I can't trust you yet, it's just too risky for me."

"It still isn't enough, why don't you add 20,000 points on top of the previous 30,000? We will have a deal once you can do that."

"It's too much for me. Why don't you add the previous year mid-term question paper alongside the information about the S-System?"

"That'll be 60,000 points."

"52,000 points." Hikaru said as he stared at Fuka.

"Tch! Alright, but in exchange give me your contact information." Fuka said seriously.

"Sure." Hikaru said as he gave his student ID to Fuka through which she would send him the information regarding the S-System and the Mid-Term question paper.

"I hope that you mail them to me by tomorrow."

"Yeah yeah, it's not like I am going to cheat you." Fuka said, returning to her carefree attitude.

"So, why do you want to know about the S-System?"

"It just irks me when I don't know about something, that's the only reason I guess."

"Heh, that doesn't sound very convincing."

"It's the truth though."

"As if I'll believe that, anyway why did you come to this cafe?"

"I just wanted to eat some tarts." Hikaru said while eating his strawberry tart.

"You want some?"

"Well, it's not like I haven't tasted it yet, but who refuses freebies anyway." Fuka said as she opened her mouth.

"How is it?" Hikaru asked Fuka after he fed her a piece of his strawberry tart.

"Tastes like a strawberry tart. I like it."

"No wonder."

"Hey hey, wasn't it an indirect kiss?"

"That's simply childish."

"Tch! You aren't fun at all."

"Anyway, it was a pleasure meeting you senpai. I'll have to leave now though, see you later." Hikaru said as he walked out of the cafe but not before buying another strawberry tart for Ai.

'Hmm, quite an interesting guy. He is the third guy who charmed me apart from Horikita and Nagumo. Let's see how long he lasts.'

"Here is your strawberry tart dear customer." The barista said as he put a strawberry tart on the table.

"I didn't order it though?"

"The young man you were sitting with paid for it." The barista said before returning to his counter.

"Is that so." Fuka said as she ate her tart before laughing a little.

"I'll buy something from the convenience store for dinner I guess." Hikaru said as he started walking towards the Convenience Store using the mini-map in his ID.

As Hikaru walked towards the Convenience Store, he noticed that there weren't many people around, actually who would even be roaming around the campus on the first day of school? They are all probably chilling or sleeping in their room as the day's exhaustion gets to them.

"Hikaru!" A familiar feminine voice called Hikaru as he browsed through the shelves in the convenience store, searching for the perfect bento. [E/N- Bento is a Japanese lunch box.]

"Oh, it's you Ai. What are you doing here?"

"Well I was buying some daily necessities along with my friends but I forgot to buy my toothbrush, so I came back here to fetch one."

"I see."

"What are you doing here Hikaru?"

"Just choosing a bento for dinner."

"Ah! Let me choose it for you." Ai said as she crouched down and started examining the Bentos.

"It's okay, I can do it on my own!" Hikaru said.

"Well, if you say so." Ai said while pouting a little.

"Weren't your friends waiting for you? You should hurry."

"Oh damn! I forgot about that. See you later Hikaru!" Ai said as she darted out of the Convenience Store after paying for her items.
