1 Chapter 1: Engagement

Once upon a time or say they say in fictional stories. Hello my name is Rhylie. I am an Elf princess. I have dark pink eyes which were rare in the kingdom so I always got picked on. I also have light pink hair. I also have a unicorn named sparkles who is white with two shades of Pink hair it used to be purple. I have fair skin. I have a gift to be able to hear what animals say. I have 2 baby brothers Tyson and Leo they are twins. I am 20 years old now but I would like to tell you how my life was before then. It all started when I was 5 years old.

"Mommy. Daddy. I'm going to go play, ok?" "OK but don't go too far, ok? Take Sparkles with you." "OK mommy." I went out to play in the forest with my animal friends. When I played for a while, I realized I was lost. Every time I turned around; I was going in circles in with Sparkles. "Sparkles I Scared." "Its going to be ok Rhylie I'm here with you. You will be fine." Then out a nowhere I see a little boy maybe a year or two older than me. He has two shades of blue hair and different color eyes. Blue right eye and purple left. He was headed towards me but I hid behind Sparkles. Once he got close to me Sparkles stepped in front of me. "Woah easy there. I won't hurt you. I promise. I came to see if you were ok." "She is fine thank you." Said Sparkles with the prince not knowing what she is saying. "It ok Sparkles. I ok. Who are you?" "My name is Liam. Prince Liam." "I am Princess Rhylie. I like your eyes." Then I blushed. "Why thank you your highness." "Pretty birdie." "Oh thanks. Her name is Cyra. She is a Phoenix." "Phoenix." "Yes, that's right. Are you lost by any chance?" "Yes, I went playing with my animal friends and got lost. I can't find my way home." I started crying. "Waaah.' "Its ok. Can you tell me what your kingdom is?" He looked up and saw the unicorn's collar and figured where she was from. "Oh, I see you're from the Elfian Palace. Would you like me to show you the way?" "Yes please." So, he walked me home. When I turned around, he was gone. "Oh, he's gone." Then I ran inside and hugged my mom. 'Mommy!" "Oh Rhylie! Where have you been! We were worried sick!" "I got lost. A boy names prince Liam helped me find my way home." "Oh, is that so?" Said dad. "Daddy?" "Nothing honey don't worry about it." My dad had Green hair and eyes and mommy had purple hair and green eyes. They both had fair skin.

"Hey mommy? Where my brothers?" "Oh, they are sleeping now honey. Let's let them sleep, ok?" "OK."

I am now 8 years old at this time. This is the time my unicorn's hair changed. I remember it clearly. "Mom. I'm going to go riding on Sparkles now ok!" "Don't get yourself lost again!" Said dad. "Ok later!" We were forest Elves I forgot to mention. There are other elves as well. Like jungle Elves Earth Elves and so on.

I had been riding for about 15 minutes and I heard something. I got off sparkles, there was an arrow headed towards me but Sparkles shielded me and it hit her. "NO Sparkles!" I looked for the men they shot her with the arrow. I got my own arrows and shot all 4 of them down. I didn't kill them they ran off. I ran back to Sparkles and she was weak. I noticed her hair changed to 2 shades of pink. "Sparkles." "I'll be ok if you take the arrow out and heal me. Luckily they hit a spot that isn't serious." "Ok." I had healing powers. I started having them when I was 6. I took the arrow out and it was bleeding pretty good. I put my hand on her wound and a green light showed and it healed her wound perfectly. I walked back with her back to the house.

"Mom! Dad! Emergency!" They rushed over to see what was wrong. "What's wrong honey?" "I had to heal Sparkles. There were men after me. She protected me and her hair changes because of me. Here I still have the arrow. I also shot all 4 of them. I know I didn't kill them but they ran off." I said in tears. Mom and dad hugged me and so did my little brothers. "Thanks, little ones. Big sis is ok. Mom? Dad? Do you know who they are?" "It was told that somewhere in the woods is a villainess and her daughter. She is around your age." "What do they want?" "They want you. I am sure they are after that prince Liam as well." Said Dad. "What can I do mom and dad?" "You are not to go playing around or riding for the time being just to be safe. You stay close to the house and stay in our yard, ok?" said Mom. "But mom." "No buts its for your protection Rhylie." "Fine." Little did they know I would sneak out and head towards the forest anyway in the night.

Night finally came and I finally snuck out. This time without Sparkles for her safety. I had gotten pretty far into the forest now then I heard a sound. It sounded like a Trumpet. I followed the sound and found the little boy Liam again. "Hello Liam." "Oh, Princess good to see you again. Did my trumpet bring you to me?" "Yeah, sort of. I snuck out of my house. Mom and dad told me not to leave so I had too. The Villainess' henchmen almost killed me. Luckily Sparkles was with me. I had to heal her but her hair changed to two shades of pink." "I figured she would be after you too. I think she is after us because of how rare of a child we are. Our eyes and hair are not common these days I guess." "Yeah, I have been picked on my whole life from these eyes and hair." "So now that we are here? What do you want to do?" Said Liam. Well, I haven't told you yet but I can talk to animals. I also have healing powers as I told you when Sparkles was hit today." "Oh, that was today huh?" "Yeah." "Well after today, I won't be able to see you for quite a while. I don't know how long. Will you wait for me?" "I-I'll try." Little did I know we would be teenagers by then. "Ok well why don't you meet some of my animal friends with me? Then after watch the stars." I said excitedly "That would be nice." Said Liam.

So, we played with my night friends for a few minutes then we decided to lay down and watch the stars. "Hey Liam?" "Yeah?" "Do you remember when you found me in the woods" "Yeah you were crying because you were lost." "Yeah, and when we got home you disappeared. I wanted to thank you but you were gone." "Yeah, I had to go home. My phoenix Cyra can grow to where I can ride on her. So, I flew off in a hurry." "Oh. I'm going to miss you. You are the only friend I really have I can talk to. Even when I am in town and at home, I hardly have any because of the way I am. I at least got my brothers. Mom and dad for now I guess." I Held ' hand and we talked for about an hour then he said, "I should head back now. I will walk you home then I will fly off myself." "Ok I will miss you Liam." "Yeah, same here." So, he walked me back and he flew home. I snuck back through my window and went to sleep.

I am 16 now. MY parents have been nagging me to get engaged. Ever since my 14th birthday which is young enough to get engaged, they have doing it. I keep telling them I already have Liam. They keep saying he hasn't seen you in years. Whose to say he is not engaged right now? I don't care I told him I would wait so I'm going to wait. My brothers are 11 years old now. They still keep following me like my fox friends used to. Tyson and Leo have dad's hair. Tyson has moms color yes Leo has dads. That's the only way I can tell them apart is their eyes. There personality isn't that far off. My brother Tyson has a pet. Leo just hasn't found the right one yet. He keeps saying. My brother Tyson had a Raiju which is a big fox you can ride on with 6 legs fangs two horns and a diamond spot on the head. Leo goes tell mom all of us are going to the forest. We will bring our pets with us." "Ok Rhylie." After he did that he ran back. "Mom said ok. To protect us." "OK good. Do you want to ride with me or ride with Tyson?" "I'll ride with Tyson." "Ok let me know when you two are ready ok?" "Yeah ok."

We rode our animals into the forest and I hear Tyson Raiju say something. "What is it Ash do you sense danger?" "What is it sister?" "I don't know shh for a minute. What is it?" "Someone is coming. I don't know if its good or bad. We should hide." "Brothers lets hide. It could be nothing but to be sure." So, Ash took the boys and I hid with Sparkles somewhere. I got off of Sparkles to check it out. "Boys stay here. Sparkles and Ash will protect you, ok?" "Ok Rhylie be careful." Said Tyson.

I saw a man who looked a lot like the prince but I wasn't sure. "Excuse me." The man looked up at me and knew for sure it was Liam. "Do you remember who I am?" I asked. "Of course, I do. I can't forget those pretty eyes and hair. Rhylie." I sighed in relief. "Good. Its ok everyone. Its only the prince you can come out now." They all came out to meet me. "Your brothers have gotten bigger I see." "Yeah, they have. This is Ash. He's a Raiju. Leo is still looking for pet himself. Oh, they wanted to meet Cyra." "Oh yeah sure. Cyra! Here girl!" She flew down and landed on his shoulder. "Leo said cool! Can I pet her?" "Sure, go ahead." "Is it ok Cyra?" I asked. "Of course, it is. I don't see the harm." "Wow its not hot at all! It feels solid right now." "Yeah, she only turns to fire when in battle." "Are you going to go running off again and have me wait some more?" "Actually know. Your parents are expecting me." "Oh, is that so. Let's go back home together." "Ok boys I'm sorry to cut the visit short but the prince has business with mom and dad so we have to head back too." "Aww ok Fine." Said Leon. So, we walked back.

"Mom. Dad. We are home. Prince Liam is here as well." "Your majesties nice to meet you finally." "Nice to meet the man who my daughter has been talking about for years." Said Dad. "You three go play outside. I need to talk to the prince alone, ok?" "Ok dad.: I said. "Come on boys lets go play the pets I'm sure they are bored." So, we went out.

"What is it you want to talk about your majesty?" "Its about my daughter. Ever suitor that comes for her hand in marriage she turns down saying that she will wait for you. That is something you two agreed on when you were children." "yes, your majesty. She was 8 years old. I was 10." "I have a couple questions for you. Prince Liam. Were you also bullied as a child?" "Yes, sir I was for my different colored eyes and my 2 shades of blue hair." "Your father and I talked about you being a suitor for my daughter. Will you protect her not matter what? Will you make her happy?" "I will do it at the best of my ability. I will protect her with my life. That is my resolve." The king saw how serious he was and had someone go get Rhylie.

"Rhylie. My beautiful daughter." Said father. "Prince Liam's father and I made an agreement. If its ok with you, would you like to be engaged to Prince Liam?" "Father I thought you would never ask. Eek." I ran over to him excited and hugged him. I forgot my elegance. Father cleared his throat. "Sorry father. My apologies." "Yes well. In a few days you will be visiting his palace and introducing yourself to his family. Until then. Maxwell go the boys." "Yes, your majesty."

The boys came running out. "Slow down boys. Would you?" I said. "You have already met my boys Tyson and Leo. Boys your sister is now engaged to Liam." "Really?" Said Tyson. "About time." "Hey what is that supposed to mean Tyson. Jeeze." "Haha nothing Sister don't worry about it." "We will have a ball to announce your engagement. You both will need to help prepare for it." "Yes father. Where do we go from here?" "Maxwell brings the woman here please." "Yes, your majesty." "Sorry boys looks like I can't play for with you for a while." "Aww man!" They both said. "When I have time, I will ok?" They nodded.

We have now been preparing for a few hours now and it was finally break time. We sat and had tea. "You know Rhylie. When I first saw you, I was shocked at how beautiful you were. I knew how rare your eye and hair color were." "You did? Why didn't you say anything?" "It just never came up. Also, I have been picked on because of my hair and eyes as well." "So, we have something in common already. By the way I don't play anything but I sing. It's not in the story books where the animals come and sing. Well, some might its only because I can talk to them. Also, when I sing strange things happen so I have to be careful where I do it. I will be able to do it in your palace, I can't do it here anymore because of the Villainess' daughter Nina. I heard her mom passed away 2 years ago." "My mom died a year ago. So, I know how she feels." "Oh, I'm sorry Liam." "She got sick and never recovered. I've got dad, my older sisters and little brother through." We were able to have some snuggle time after Tea then went back to working.

We had finally got mostly everything done when my main maid called me. "Princes Rhylie." "Yes Maia." "Your father has called for you." "Excuse me Liam." "Yeah sure."

"Yes father?" "Your cousins are here. You and your cousins are to go shopping for your dress and other stuff for the ball. I will tell Liam where you are headed." "Yes your majesty." I had a cart already waiting with my two cousins Daisy who is the oldest and Hazel who is around my age. We were headed to town for my dress first.
