11 The beginning

"What just happened to you?" Jastria asks. "You looked like you fell asleep just now."

"I'll be fine, just wait a moment." I say.

I walk off to the couch and try to rest while Jastria snoops around. Klotic joins me along with Jalia and continue to show me what I was seeing. I started to see Talia again and a flash of light, similar to what I experienced, brought me to see the same trees as before. Although, there were people next to each tree with staffs. 'It seemed that Talia was summoned by mages, but how are you showing me this?'

My thoughts wander as it shows one of the mages getting angry that Talia still looked like a human. This was the eldest of the mages, he blasted a concentrated spell at her, turning Talia into a mythical creature. The mages all began to run as the eldest collapses to the ground, pronounced dead by a spirit that Talia sees sprinting off to the distant sky. Talia is then seen jumping away in fear of what had happened. Though out of nowhere, an arrow is shot that scrapes her body, leaving her to fall and lay in pain. Then, from the direction of the trees, I see myself appear in a flash of blue light, with my back laying on the ground. In that moment I realized that the bunny I picked up was my past manager, Talia, who I now call Jalia.

Then my eyes opened to Jalia sleeping on my lap and Klotic following Jastria around. I lightly pet Jalia and stay still where I am. Klotic sees that I am awake and comes over to me, forgetting about Jastria.

"It seems that you had fallen asleep during the memory transfer." Klotic says. "The probability was quite low, although, you did survive."

"The probability of what?" I ask.

"The cause of one's death for the stress of fast transferring of memory, as the body is attempting a sleep stasis." Klotic says. "On most occasions, one may die to this cause, I am to guess you are still here, because you are an immortal being."

"Well, it does help in times of need." I say. "Though, Klotic."

"Yes, Al." Klotic says concentrated.

"I'll need to find a way I can reverse the spell that was cast on Jalia." I say. "So, I need you to take care of Jalia again. This is going to be while Jastria and I find something that can help her."

"This is outrageous, I was not told of this before." Jastria exclaims.

"Well, this can be payment for you living with us, if you don't then you can leave." I say.

Jastria says nothing else and furiously walks away to the table. Klotic follows her and his presence still scared her. I look down at Jalia who is waking up and stretching. Jalia then jumps away to the glittering water, sitting in awe of the sparkles that surprisingly appear out of thin air. I slowly walk over to join, but Jalia looks back at me and jumps to my feet.

"What is it now?" I crouch to see her better.

Jalia tries to crawl on top of me, so I pick her up and sit down at the table. 'This is one heck of a way to live, Talia.' I pet Jalia as I hear her squeak a little. 'It almost bothers me that I can't understand her even if I have an extra immortal trait.' Jastria looks at me in confusion.

"Is something the matter?" I ask. "You seem confused for some reason."

"I am wondering why you and the bunny are so attached to each other." Jastria says.

"Well, I just figured out that Jalia was someone I knew in my past life." I respond.

"I see." Jastria says.

"Jastria, I'm now wondering how old you are." I say.

"Oh, well, I um." Jastria staggers her words. "How much do you know about this world…?"

"I've been able to get most information needed from Flinda and Greffosh." I say. "Why do you ask though? You aren't hiding anything from me, are you now?"

"No!" Jastria yells.

In shock of herself, Jastria quickly shuts her mouth.

"Um, okay then." I stand up. "I'll be on the other side of the water."

"The other side?" Jastria starts to follow me. "What do you mean by that?"

"On the other side of the water here is a whole different part of the cave." I say.

I walk over to the glimmering water and start to go in. I feel Jalia beginning to hold her breath as I pull her down with me. I don't see Jastria get in after I do, I just try my best to swim quickly to the other side. Once I finally get out, I'm not wet but I'm instantly dry.

"Okay, wow." I say in surprise.

I hear a muffled and bubbly scream behind me, and Jalia jumps from my arms to the floor. I then look behind me and see Jastria going full force towards me. I back away a bit, but she quickly gets pushed out by the water, making her fly and tumble into me, forcing us both to fall over together. 'Oh gosh, what the heck.' I grunt and try to move but Jastria is on top of me.

"Oh!" Jastria yells. "I'm not dead!"

"Could you pipe down and get off of me already?" I say. "I'm not going to lie, you're heavy."

"How dare you!" Jastria slaps me and gets up. "You are such a rude man!"

"How am I rude if I was being honest." I stand and look at Jalia. "Do you think I'm rude too?"

Jalia quickly looks away in disappointment. Then I frown and notice how great it looks in the room. Jastria is walking around looking at things, I join her as Jalia jumps around. Peeking over her shoulder, I see that she's in deep thought looking at things.

"What are you finding here?" I ask. "Anything you're interested in?"

"Well, everything here looks like it's been made by ancient elves." Jastria responds. "How did you find this cave?"

"Um, Klotic tracked down a safe place to live and this cave was found." I say.

"I would not have expected that, only if he would not have followed me here." Jastria says.

Klotic stands behind us blankly. I look and almost burst into laughter as Jastria's face starts steaming up.

"Why can't you just stay away from me?!" Jastria yells. "Can't you just go follow someone else?!"

"I am sorry to disappoint you, Jastria." Klotic says. "Although, I am not very familiar with your presence, so I have no choice but to do so."

Jastria grunts and walks somewhere else as Klotic continues to follow. I look over to Jalia who is next to a bright yellow stone. In curiosity I walk over to Jalia and look at the stone with her.

"It's really pretty." I say.

Jalia looks at me and makes cute squeaking noises. I giggle and lightly pet her, then I hear something from the stone. I look at the stone and instantly, memories flood into my brain. Like a tide in an ocean storm, my head was getting overflowed with visions and ideas of all sorts. I tumble to the floor in all the stress, with this, every noise around me starts to become static. My vision starts to go blurry, and I am unable to keep my eyes open. Then my breathing shortens, and my head begins to throb. Everything starts to go black, and I open my eyes to a vast green field.

"Zachary?" A woman says.

I look behind me and I see, Talia, standing in a long white dress. I try to walk over to her, though instead, I collapse to the ground. I feel the warmth of soft hands touching my cheeks and I see Talia's smile before going back to reality.
