"Do you read these GQ articles?"

"Which ones? The newest one?"

"No, this one, the ones on your table" Sigourney Weaver says as she hands over the magazine in her hands.

"Ah, yeah, I read all of them. This one is James Harper. I looked at it when it came out. He's even hotter right now. You know he started his own studio?"

"Yeah, I heard. But, why do you still have this? Didn't this come out ages ago?"

"Well, I mean, he's kind of a hottie. My clients love to look at that one when they stop by."

"Who?"

"Agh, I don't know, Sigourney. People. Women. Lonely broads who long for a young director to cast them in his next movie. Why? You interested?"

"...No, I was just wondering."

"Okay, well can you be interested while I do your hair? I have another appointment in an hour."

"Who's coming?"

"Jane Fonda."

"The dancer?"

"Yes, now sit. Please. C'mon. Chop chop."

"Hey, I'm a big star now. I can get this whole salon shut down, you know?"

"Okay, Ms. Hollywood, settle down. I just want to get you started."

They both laugh and start some more gossip a few seconds later.

----------------------

"James, James!"

"Yes?"

"You want this here?" A worker says as he wheels in some props for a set James is looking after.

"No, put it over there for now and I'll ask someone else to arrange it. Thank you."

James was currently very busy trying to get things in order, like the set and the overall production before filming started.

James was currently working with 20th Century Fox again. They had been the most willing to give him as many resources and control of the production.

James was worried that this might make it seem like he was associated with them, but their offer was the best out of all the ones he got.

This might be due to the fact that they knew his true value from having worked with him. They also had a base point or bottom line in terms of salary, from having worked with James previously.

When James talked to his financial team, they did not suggest revealing any of the benefits Fox gave to him to other studios.

The other studios would just have to learn how much James was worth for themselves and if they wanted his services then they would need to step up their game and their offers.

James was constantly having to correct the things that his team told the production staff.

He also has to call his team and tell them about the mistake they made, lest they repeat it.

But, it was also hard to explain to them what they did wrong when they'd never really done this job in the first place.

They were more or less supposed to be in a managerial position, but what James wanted them to do was more about taking creative approaches to their job.

For example, if James explained to them how each set is supposed to look, they need to be able to visualize it.

This requires some experience of actually being on set and being able to recognize how to set it up properly.

If they don't communicate this idea effectively, it makes it hard for the production studio to know what they are talking about.

So, after correcting their mistakes numerous times, he just opted to do it all himself.

It was just James' fault in the first place for trying to entrust his team with something they weren't prepared for.

Now, he had nothing to do and he gave himself a whole lot more work, taking much of his time away.

"Should I just not pay them?" James would think to himself.

James was half-joking when he thought this.

He assigned his management studio to just get in contact with as many of their ex-colleagues as possible. Anyone who could be somewhat useful to the business.

----------------

Now you may be wondering what movie James could be putting in so much effort to accomplish and why he would be so willing to go through so much effort to complete it.

But, in James' opinion, it was well worth it.

The movie James would be working on would be Ghostbusters.

Ghostbusters was a film with a cult following in his past life.

It had a long-standing history of people who enjoyed every aspect of the movie, even down to the actors' lives.

James remembered how engrossed people became in this movie.

It would also be helpful for him to make as many IPs as possible.

-------

The only issue with this was James having to invite Sigourney as an additional cast member.

He decided to just contact her agent, who vehemently agreed to the opportunity.

He and Sigourney hadn't really been talking too much.

But another issue that James was having was with the idea of getting another director to film the project.

With so much on his plate, James was beginning to feel reluctant to the idea of filming.

Filming was an arduous process that would take much of his time. James did not want to spend all day filming while his business stagnated.

James still had to hire more people as well as set up other opportunities for the company.

James had also been helping Nora write her new novel, which he was planning to turn into a series and later make a movie franchise.

It seemed best for James to find someone else to direct, but even that had some issues.

There were not many directors available and James wasn't sure he wanted to wait that long to get a director on board.

He would just have to ask the studio and 20th Century Fox to find someone adequate.

James would have to hold meetings and get them to inquire about finding a last-second replacement as well.

This would inevitably lead to some trouble and many of the execs would be dissatisfied that he springes this on them last second.

Thankfully, James had done most of the storyboard and production still had a ways to go.

But still, it would be difficult to both find a good director as well as convince Fox to agree.

James has to have a good proposal as to why he needs to do this and why it's a good idea. James might have to agree to film some more movies with them just to keep on their good side.

Hopefully, it all works out and James can spend some more time working on his company and developing his employees.

He might have to start poaching other employees...

Sorry for delay, I've been thinking alot on life (overthinking/procrastinating)

Ive also been reading alot of fan-fics. There are so many better writers on this site, as well as other sites. Hopefully, this story allows me to get better and I find some more inspiration for future chapters/novel ideas.

This story is never going to be perfect, either. Im still learning...
