CHAPTER 14: ANNA WHITE

It took a while for me to explain the whole thing with Sofia and the 'vision.' Noah and Sabastian listened to the whole thing very carefully till the end without interrupting me.

"So… it is true both of you are linked—" asked Sabastian.

"Yes" responded me and Noah at the same time.

"—and we need to find the box from the prophecy?"

At that comment, I nodded my head.

Sabastian looked at Noah for some time trying to calculate what next to say. Something may have clicked his mind, that's why he sighed next.

"What's the matter Sab?" asked I. I wanted to comfort him if something was disturbing him, but how could I, when I did not know what was wrong with him…

"Love, you know that we have to quest to find the box, don't you?" said he. Then it clicked. The last time Sabastian and I had left town, we had been betrayed.

Sab and I must have had the same thought as we both snapped our eyes to Noah. He must have understood what both of us meant as he snapped his head sideways and refused to meet our eyes.

"Not this time," said Noah. I looked at him quizzically as I did not know what he meant by that. "What do you mean?" asked I.

"This time it shall be you and my brother who venture forth. As much as I want to meet my sister, I can't leave my duties here. And also, someone has to keep watch on our beloved mother." Answered Noah.

"You are right brother; it should be only Anna and me."

I could not say anything, so I nodded my head. How could we leave Noah behind… in the last few weeks he had helped a lot, and he was Sab's brother.

"I shall go and pack, we have to leave by dawn tomorrow." Said Sabastian. He looked my way and smiled, and then walked out of the room.

After a few moments, Noah called my name. "Anna?" asked he.

"Yes?"

Before answering my question, Noah got up from his seat and took my hand in his. I was so shocked by this gesture that I stared at him for long.

"Anna, my brother loves you, please take care of him when you leave."

That comment surprised me even more…

"Umm... umm yes Noah, I will" answered I.

Wait…. He had said Sab loves me…

Loves

Before I could question any further, Noah came forth and hugged me. He wished me luck and sent me off to pack and rest for the upcoming trip.

That night, I could not rest well, my mind drifted to the short conversation Noah and I had. He said Sab loves me…

"Anna, you don't have time to think about this, rest, you shall need it," I murmured to myself and with that thought, I slept.

The next morning, well more at dawn, Sabastian and I met Noah at the same tunnels which had led us out the first time.

"Take care brother." Said Noah. He stepped forward and shook Sab's hand. Noah then looked my way and stepped in to hug me. "Take care, Anna."

I nodded my head and stepped back. I held Sabastian's hand as we started to walk into the tunnels once more.

"Wait, how will we explain this to the queen?" asked I.

"Don't worry about that, I will handle it, but not for long. She being a vessel to mine and my brother's powers, she will get to know when the pull becomes longer and my brother is gone." Answered Noah.

Ok, we had a head start, but not for long.

And with that, Sabastian and I walked into the dark tunnels once again, but this time, we were not hiding, we were going to find the hidden.

Sabastian and I did not have much trouble getting out of the palace and into the woods. We just walked and walked.

"Anna, are you sure we have to go this way?" asked Sabastian

We had been walking east for hours now. It was getting dark and almost very hard to see.

"Maybe, this is where my mind tells me to go." Declared I.

"Okay then, we have been at this for hours, lets rest for a few and then continue." Announced Sabastian. He stepped away from the path and looked around for a place of comfort.

"Here should be fine." Said he. He had selected a patch of dirty brown dry grass. The both of us sat down and picked out something to eat.

Sabastian moved closer to me and placed a hand on my face. He may have seen my worry all this while as he said, "We will do fine An, we will reach my sister—"

"—I don't even know if this is the right path." Complained I.

"Follow your gut Anna, it will not betray you, love." Said he. And with that, we shrunk back into silence.

For a few moments the both of us just nibbled at our food without talking, but what he had said did improve my mood a little. Finally, he broke the silence when he asked to decipher the prophecy.

"So, we have -The moon shines in the dark sky, dying to be down here, the sun sets in the orange hue of the atmosphere- as the first line, what do you understand of it?" Said he.

I thought for a few minutes. The moon shines in the dark sky, dying to be down here. The only place better than the vast dark sky would be the pearl blue ocean. The next line also matched with it. By dusk, the sun sets near the water bodies with a bright orange hue, so…

"Ocean or a lake of some kind, I think." Said I. I quickly told him what I thought and waited for his answer.

Sabastian smiled my way and said, "Very well love, that sounds about right."

That smile did something to my insides and I blushed. Thank god it was night, as my rose-pink cheeks would embarrass me a lot.

I mean it a lot…

The next few hours, Sabastian and I spent unrevealing each and every line. I slept off for a few hours, as Sab kept watch and then the reverse.

I waited for the journey to end before it even started. I had a feeling, something was coming soon.

And I mean it, soon…
