Chapter 7 Get out of my house

Hazel didn't get the time to process what actually happened. One moment Mr Rufus was standing infront of her and in the next moment, he had grabbed her waist and burried his face in the crook of her neck before pushing her towards the wall.

She struggled to push him away but his weight was heavy on her and she was left with no option but to scream. He covered her mouth in an attempt to stop her from screaming and she felt his lustful tongue lick the skin of her neck. Instinctively, she bit his fingers that he had used to cover her mouth so hard and he winced in pain, letting go of her. She then screamed on top of her lungs and attempted to run towards the door when he pulled her back by her hair making her yelp.

"Where do you think you're going bitch?!" he growled as he gripped both her hands at the front.

"Open the door right this moment!" she heard uncle Pius yell as he banged the door. "Let go of me! Please," she said as tears flowed from her eyes and he finally freed her.

Running towards the door, she unlocked it and opened it before running outside.

"What happened?" uncle Pius asked when he saw her dishevelled state.

Hazel looked at the three of them before turning her eyes towards the kitchen where Mr Rufus had come to stand at the entrance and she pointed at him saying," H-he tried to... violate me." Mr Milbrand's eyes turned to look in the direction of Mr Rufus but before he could say anything, the former said, "She's lying. I only came to get some water for drinking." Scarlett's eyes burned with anger as she looked at Hazel. "He is lying," she said as she shook her head and Pius looked at Rufus before asking," What were you doing here? You told me you were going outside."

"Yes but I decided to first come for a glass of water since I was here. Are you taking her word against mine?" he asked, pretending to be offended.

Hazel watched her aunt walk towards her and as she imagined, she landed a hot slap on her cheek. She clutched her cheek as tears fell from her eyes. "Ungrateful bastard! After everything we've done for you! You decide to go after your cousin's fiancee?! Just like your mother, you're a bitch!" she hissed, gritting her teeth.

"I will be taking my leave," announced Rufus and Lilith looked at him anxiously. "You don't have to go Mr Rufus. We can talk about this," said Scarlett as she walked following after him.

He turned to look at them and said," I will think about it if I still want to get a bride from this home." He walked outside and shortly, they heard a sound of carriage wheels and horse's hooves stamping on the ground before driving away.

Scarlett walked to stand in front of Hazel and glared at her before saying," Listen. I want you to pack everything that belongs to you and get out of my house." Hazel's lips hung open as her eyes widened and she immediately went down on her knees.,"Aunt Scarlett please believe me. I didn't do anything." "It is final," she deadpanned.

"I have no where to go! I don't know anyone else in this world," she said desperately. "You would have thought about it before seducing your cousin's fiancee." "I'm innocent I swear. He came to the kitchen- " "Shut up! We feed you and give you shelter. You're so ungrateful!" she hissed.

"Scarlett, you should listen to Hazel, for once," uncle Pius intervened. "This is none of your business. The issue is between my niece and I. You have no say in it," she said to her husband. "I have a say in it because this is my house too. She's not going anywhere," he declared. "Alright then. If she doesn't leave, Lilith and I will be the ones to leave this house instead," she announced.

Hazel's eyes widened at the turn of events.

"You don't have to act like that Scarlett- "

"That is what it is. It's either us or her," looking at Hazel, she said," Call me when you're done with packing your things."

With that, she walked away and Lilith followed after her mother.

Pius looked at Hazel and said," Get up I will talk to her. I'm sure she will change her mind."

She nodded before standing up and Pius said," Go and do your work." He left to find his wife so that they could talk.

Reaching the room, the first thing Hazel did was getting her money from where she had kept it.

She knew that although uncle Pius has promised to talk to her aunt, she should not rely on it so much. Once again, she thanked the person who gave her the money that was going to aid her in such a dire situation.

If her aunt refuses to change her mind, her plan was getting an inn to stay at as she searches for a job.

After packing her clothes in her satchel which were few to begin with, she sat down on the matress and she waited to see if she would get lucky at least for once in her life.

A few moments later, she heard a person's footsteps coming and she looked to see her cousin who entered her room and leaned against the wall before folding her arms and placed them in front of her chest.

"It's good to see that you're ready. Mother is waiting to see you out in the living room," she said.

Hazel got up and caught the straps of her satchel then began walking forward. When she came to stand in front of her, she said," Lilith, I swear I didn't do anything to seduce your fiancee. I was in the kitchen when - " "As if I would believe you. Just like mother says, you're a whore like your mother." She left after that and Hazel clutched her satchel straps before walking towards the living room.

Standing in front of her aunt who was sitting in the sofa cross legged, she said," Give me that bag. I have to make sure that everything you've taken belongs to you."
