2 The Invitation

Lady Elise opened the white and bronze-coated door as she arrived at the dining room.

...

Lady Elise was now Michael and she had no idea where the dining room was. So she asked one of the maids as they brutally placed her dress on her snow-white body.

In the dining room was a marbled table, showing the lightning-like design of the marble, it led to the very end of it and saw a man. A man that wore fabricated-navy blue clothes. He had white hair and a white beard, an eye that was crimson red. He sat, waiting for Lady Elise to sit opposite of him.

"I am here, father."

Michael remembered a TV Show about a princess that greeted a prince and with the little knowledge he has on the current world, she bowed with grace.

"You may sit."

Her father said with a calm voice. Lady Elise followed and sat at the opposite end of where her father was sitting.

"Why have you asked of me, father?"

"Lady Melany has personally given me a letter of invitation to her party. She said that your utmost presence is required. Seeing as she personally gave it to me, a Duke, you can't refuse or our 'Le Leon' name will be tarnished."

Her father answered quite a long response as Lady Elise was surprised to know that she would be invited to a party at the very beginning of her arrival.

She slowly lowered her head as she smirked hiddenly. A place where there are abundant people, no one would ever notice who killed who. She was excited and inside her, her need to kill was reaching its limit.

"When will this party begin, father?

"It will be by the end of this month, Elise."

Her smirk turned into a smile as she has two weeks to prepare and binge the common sense of this world.

"As you wish, father."

Since now, she's been acting like a princess in cartoon movies. She concealed and acted like a proper lady, as not to be suspicious of the sudden change of personality. From what she observed, this place is like those said movies. Everything is so proper and she also realized that people were speaking English.

She really thought she had to learn a language but the maid that called her earlier cleared out all suspicion. Does this also mean there are people out there who speak Chinese or Arabic?

If it does, then that makes Lady Elise an unparalleled genius. In order to survive, Michael has to illegally cross countries and continents to run from authorities. He learned their culture and their language as a disguise. The only lead that the government can catch is his killing spree, he can never stop killing, and that was the government's only hope.

A killer that knows to disguise properly, except for his face. A killer that knows how to kill in every way possible, although there are people she personally favors to kill.

...

After the meeting with her father, there was only food. So she ate in the most delicate method possible, as to avoid suspicion. Following that, her father excused himself, and so she was left alone.

Lady Elise had nothing else to do, so she left and returned back to her room. She can't believe she had to go through all the trouble to be properly dressed so she can have a talk with her father and have a silent meal.

"The etiquette of this world is too extreme, it reminds me of a certain country back at Earth."

Lady Elise murmured to herself as she held her hand at the table, looking at the beauty reflected in the mirror in front of her.

"But seriously though, this girl is a real beauty. I wonder what happened to the real her?"

She asked herself as she rubbed her red-blushed cheeks, then to her v-shaped chin. A perfect body that it was unnatural not to be surgically enhanced. Although she is still questioning the medical technology of this world.

"Now then..."

Lady Elise stood up straight as she went to a bookshelf that was in front of her king-sized bed. Now that you think about it, it's a really spacious room.

The desk that stood in front of the window for a clear view of outside. The wide collection of books spreading in her bedroom wall. She can tell the previous Elise must've been really intellectual.

Lady Elise had no time to waste as she browsed through the bookshelf. There was an abundance of topics neatly placed as similar topics are separated from each vertical line of the bookshelf.

There were Mathematics, Science, Philosophy, Art, and Miscellaneous books that do not fit any of the categories of books.

Although while browsing through the bookshelf, she noticed there was a weirdly placed picture frame of a woman at the side of the bookshelf. I mean, for some it will look normal, but for Lady Elise, it was weird.

She tried to sway it, only for it to sway so easily like it can be easily pulled out. So she tried to take it off only to find a small storage box.

"Jackpot!"

She smirked as the storage box does not even have any locks of any sort. She opened it only to find a book laying down, filled with webs and dust like it hasn't been touch for years.

She took it out of curiosity to see that the book has a crimson-colored color although it was like an old book with ripped pieces and a little bit of moss sticking at the side of the book.

She saw the title of the book and it reminded her of what he once did in the past, and it was simply named...

"Play Time"

She murmured the title of the book as she expressed a big smile. She opened it to see that even though the outside part of the book was damaged, the inside was really clean and looked like it was fresh out of the box.

While the first page was empty, she flipped it to see the next page to see some sort of message.

"Dear current Elise..."
