3 Maybe Just Maybe...

While growing up Gal respected Sheryl, she was loved her like a mother. After all, Sheryl was her godmother, but after what happened she wished she never knew the woman, she wished her mother had another beta. Standing there she was wishing a lot of things, but none was going to happen. Her parents were dead, and Sheryl was still alive.

"You can't talk to me like that." The woman said back to her, Gal thought of slapping the light out of the woman's face but couldn't. After all that yelling the only thing, the woman could think of was how she wasn't supposed to be talked to.

"Oh, I can. I am your Alpha!" Gal didn't know where that came from, but she was happy she said that. The woman looked scared, she apologized and started saying how sorry she was and why she was there. She explained how she had been searching for her and Jordan, "Now you are the alpha, and the pack you are staying with don't even know you. They are coming Gal; I have to take you to where the rest of Ryder Pack is, they are ready and waiting for you. Technically Gia is the Alpha."

Sheryl was being cocky, and she was good at that. Gia, oh Gia. Gal didn't want to remember anything about Gia, her twin sister, her heartbeat. Not after the woman has just ruined her morning by saying that Michael Patrick was her mother Alpha Mia Ryder's lover. Her mother was the Alpha and the woman standing next to Gal was the beta, and even if the Alpha and the Beta are always close Gal knew Sheryl was lying.

Did Sheryl just say Ryder Pack? Gal thought she was going crazy, the Ryder Pack which was ruled by her mother ended as soon as her parents passed away. Gal wanted to use her Alpha's voice on her but she knew her mother would crawl from whenever she was and scold her, it would be disrespectful to use her Alpha's voice to anyone older than her more especially Sheryl.

Gal felt a sharp jolt of pain below her left ear and she knew a headache was coming, she didn't want to worry about a headache throughout the day, it was too early for that. She asked the woman to make sure Jordan wasn't on the swimming team anymore.

"I can't do that Gal, let Jordan be what he wants to be," Sheryl told her.

"Now you want Jordan to be what he wants to be? Was it not you who kept on telling me to learn how to fight when I was young while mom was busy encouraging me to follow my dreams? You could have stood your ground back then and made sure I learned how to fight not to swim. Why do you want Jordan to continue swimming? Is he going to fight using his swimming skills when whoever you keep saying is coming comes?" Gal shouted at the woman, she remembered how the woman would always ask her to join the fighting team and learn fighting combats skills, and not to swim when she was young.

Sheryl tried to beg Gal to allow her to speak to Jordan but she wasn't having that. "Don't talk to my brother, make a plan to make him kicked out of the team. You are good with screwing people over anyways." She told the woman and walked away, the woman didn't try to follow or call her and Gal didn't was sure it was because she reminded her that she was the Alpha, either way, she didn't care.

Ryder Pack was her pack, well it used to be. Her mother Alpha Mia Ryder was the best. Gal didn't even know the Ryder Pack still exists.

Michael Patrick who no one knew back then was a wolf had crawled his way into their lives. Judy, her daughter was Gal's best friend. Everyone knew Sheryl was having an affair with Michael, Judy had no problem with that because of the non-existence of her mother. Michael earned people's trust through his sob story of how her wife had died a terrible death. Whenever asked, he would look down and avoid answering the questions.

Michael became so close to her parents that he was asked to move in and stay with them, looking back now Gal thought Michael was too close to her mother Alpha Mia Ryder than he was close to her father. Maybe just maybe Sherly wasn't lying, maybe they were having a secret affair. But no, Gal pushed that thought back to her head she knew her mother won't do that to her father.

No one in town knew wolves were living amongst them, they didn't even believe in the existence of the supernatural. However, Michael knew because he was a wolf. He didn't tell anyone, how he hid it so well from Gal's parents and Sheryl was something Gal couldn't understand.

Gal doesn't know how her parents allowed someone they thought was human to stay with them, it was a pack house after all and the pack house belonged to werewolves only. His staying with them made things easy for him, he could ask questions around, learn their routine and even join the pack's fighters. He learned everything; from the innocent questions, he asked the kids to the pack's stories Gal's uncle loved to tell.

Just remembering his name made Gal cringe.

"Ouch! That hurts." Somebody pinched her.

"Gal you and your thoughts, I have been telling you. Someone is getting a promotion." Gal was at work and as always, she lost time just thinking of how Michael Patrick destroyed her family. It was Michaela who had pinched her, Michaela was the best gossiper Gal knew. Nothing could ever pass her; she was also talkative and always hated how Gal would stay quiet instead of gossiping with her. Gal knew the moon goddess was out there targeting her how could she have gotten herself a best friend by the name Michaela, of all the people with other names she got herself a best friend by the name Michaela Johns.

Gal didn't love what she was doing at her workplace, she was always answering emails and receiving calls. But that provided her with the best cover to stay hidden. It was a boring job which of course Michaela didn't see as a problem, she loved it because she had free time to listen to all the gossip and later on tell Gal.

Michaela didn't know Gal had already heard on whatever was going on in the office, with her wolf hearing most of the time she found herself listening to what people were talking about and they were mostly gossip anyways. Her boss keeps on asking her to go to the field but Gal is always ready with the same answer, "I will go next time." She wasn't sure there was ever going to be next time, but she felt lucky to have a boss who didn't force things, there was freedom at the office.

Michaela was busy babbling about someone getting a promotion and how she wished it was her and all Gal would think of was how the day wouldn't go any slower. She wanted it to be over so that she can go home and listen to Jordan crying and telling her how the world was unfair to him because he has been kicked out of the swimming team.

Oh, wishes!
