4 A Mother’s Daughter (i)

"This is not going to be fun." Sheryl sighed as she thought of how Gal was angry at her, she was so furious that it made Sheryl remember her best friend alpha Mia Ryder and how she used to get when they were kids.

Their friendship started long before Alpha Mia became the Alpha, they were inseparable. Some people used to call them sisters.

Others thought they were going to be mates.

Their bond was a bond like no other in the pack, after the birth of Gal, Gia, and Jordan she didn't need to be asked to be their godmother. She saw the children like hers, she loved them so dearly.

She loved Gal mostly because of how active she was, and she would always ask her to come with her mother Alpha Mia to watch her swim. Gal was always calling them to the water if you asked anyone where Gal was it was always at the lake. She was known as "the baby who loved the water" The lake was hers; they had the swimming pool in their home but Gal preferred the lake, and whenever she was asked why she said she wanted to create a harmonious existence between them and the aquatic animals. No one said no to her, they let her be, she was a girl with a purpose.

But not now, things were different. And not that kind of, different good.

It was her worst nightmare.

She was no longer Gal's favorite person.

When they met two years ago, Gal made sure to tell her she hated her, and it broke her heart. It wasn't like she hasn't been told, "I hate you." But she despised hearing it from Gal. She had no problem with the world hating her, or with the other members of whatever number, Ryder Pack had left with. She didn't care at all; the world would have come to her and shouted its hatred and she would go on living her life. After all, whenever she was with the other pack members, they would always tell her how they hated her.

Sometimes it seemed funny to her, the pack members used to adore her but things changed after the death of Alpha Mia Ryder and Maxwell. The pack turned against her when she went back to search for whoever was willing to tell her if they knew the whereabouts of Gal and Jordan Ryder.

She was technically still their right beta but that didn't matter, the pack had lost their alpha and it was ruled by a new alpha, an arrogant alpha, she didn't even want to call that man alpha. There was no way she was going to name Michael the alpha, he had even changed Ryder Pack's name to a pack name she didn't care to know.

Even the humans she had met during her mission to find Gal and Jordan hated her, it amused her how much there was hatred going on, everyone was hating everyone for the sake of hating. Even if they didn't know each other.

She had been searching for Gal and Jordan, and after finding them Sheryl was very proud of how brilliant Gal was.

She wasn't that active swimmer who used to win every swimming competition, she was just a normal boring person.

She wasn't Gal Ryder anymore; she was Gal Maxwell.

She had picked a town where no one cared about anyone, a town where you could see someone speak to someone, laughing even kissing but when approached and asked who they were talking to they could swear they had no idea who that was.

She had watched them for a few months and even went to Jordan's school and asked to be given a job as a swimming coach for Jordan's swimming team. As much as she hated swimming and anything related to water, that was the only way she could get a chance to know stare at Jordan without being seen as "that creepy lady"

Jordan Ryder had taken everything from her parents, her mother's charisma to his father's kindness. She had watched him come to practice every day and she could only think of how Gal used to love to swim.

But not today, after a long time after watching Gal come and pick Jordan up from school while screaming and asking him to stop swimming, she had decided to meet and speak to her. She knew Gal wasn't going to greet her with hugs and cries but she didn't expect their meeting to be that full of hatred. And yelling.

Sheryl knew Gal too well, and the years they had been apart didn't bring any change. She knew she had to look for Gal, again, to speak to her. To tell her why she was there, the two times she met Gal, at Jordan's school swimming pool and speak to her on their way to Jordan's school Sheryl didn't get the chance to explain fully. Gal was furious and whenever the Ryder was furious you won't want to be near them and that's why Sheryl had moved a little bit.

"She is truly her mother's daughter," Sheryl remembered how her best friend alpha Mia Ryder used to be. She was someone you didn't want to be near whenever she was angry, and her wolf was another thing. An angry werewolf and an angry woman, the two of them being one. None of the pack members ever wanted to face that wrath.

But one thing made Sheryl sad, Gal looked lonely and depressed. She never saw her with anyone other than Jordan and Timothy or Michaela Johns who Sheryl had done her research on to know who she was. She didn't want any more surprise she made sure Michaela was Michaela.

"Where is Gal's mate?" Sheryl asked herself that question but knew no one else would have answered other than Gal herself, at such age Sheryl was sure Gal was supposed to have a mate already.

Or not?

She made a mental note to ask Gal where her mate was.
