1 Chapter One - But I Like That One!

Hi, I'm Alex. You probably don't know who I am, but I'm a very picky eleven year old. I want what I want and when I want it. Now before you say " Ughh, here's another one of those brats" , I'm a princess, and my whole life I've been raised to have what I want and need. Three years ago my great grandmother's spirit roamed the castle. I know this might not make much sense, but I'll explain. My family is, strange, but that's sort of besides the point. The month that you died, every year, during the time of that month, your spirit would be free to roam, and everybody would be able to see and contact you as if you were a normal person. But once the month is over, you may no longer be visible or free to roam the land. On that month, my great grandmother gave me the most beautiful gift, it was a wonderful dress! Since that month, my great grandmother has never been around. Not on the month that she passed away, neither on the days that we go feel her presence. It is very worrying but it has been three years and no one knows what to do at this point. It's my first actual ball. I've had other ones, but those were just for fun. This one is for real. This is the one where I hope I'm going to find my actual first true love. I completely forgot what the dress, that my great grandmother gave me, looked like, but my mother definitely didn't forget. My mother didn't want me to where a certain dress and I didn't know why. But the bad part was that the dress I wanted to wear was the one that she didn't want me to wear. I asked why she so desperately needed to say no to me about wearing that dress, and she said it was because my great grandmother gave it to me and that it doesn't fit me. I told my mother that if she wanted me to go to the ball, I was only going to wear that dress. She wanted me to go to the ball, so she agreed to let me wear the dress. I was very excited to try on the dress for it was the first time I would have worn it, it fit perfectly! Well, for the first minute or so. Then, out of nowhere, the dress became so big, that it seemed it was for someone more than double my size! I didn't understand! Why didn't it fit? Why did it become so big all of a sudden? I have so many questions, that at this point, seem to be questions that will never be answered!
