5 Time to wake up, my blood

In front of a dangerous creature, their memories begin to show who they really are, and what they will become…

*Tum Tum* Someone's heartbeats could be heard, *Tum Tum Tum* that person is someone i'm really familiar with.

*Tum Tum* That person lived for a long time in solitude, trying to find a reason to live, but that's not what that person's destiny has in reserve to him *Tum Tum Tum*.

It just happened too fast for he to understand what was going on *Tum Tum*, and even after that, he, *Tum Tum Tum* still hoped that the curse wouldn't bring harm.

"I hope I can do it." He thought, but how many times has he put the blame on the curse? How many times has he given up just because the curse is there?

"But I don't know." He said out loud.

Perhaps that person's "Hope" was starting to lose to his own "Despair", and over the 20 years, after he lost the hometown that he sworn to protect, having to flee with the tails between the legs.

He endured all those years getting stronger, "But it was all in vain," he thought after seeing an enemy that even his strength could not defeat yet. If he is given dozens of years or more to get stronger, it was possible for him to win.

But that is not possible, not because of the actual situation, but because it would be boring.

If you asked me: "Boring to who?" I would proudly answer with a smile, "To the gods."

The god, Grandzi, who recorded on his book, each person lives, and used it to entertain the other gods, would always prioritize those who survived hardships and mortal battles to get stronger, than the people who leisurely trained themselves each day but with low battle experience.

As he remembered this, the heartbeat sounds could be heard once again.

*Tum Tum* "Ah, I get it now." Canie stood up while holding his sword with the left-hand, "Turns out that person is me" against two creatures who blew his right arm away in the blink of an eye.

"Boy… Faestus, you can go home first, I'll be right behind you" Canie said as he saw the big creature moving around cheerfully, "Just run towards home, and look forward a nice dinner today. Hahaha." letting out a laugh even with a painful expression on his face.

Even if Faes answered, he couldn't hear, because his consciousness was fading away from all the pain and blood loss.

"I know I told you to not do that but" Saying out loud he pointed at it, "It's your chance to show me how much you've grown." After saying all that he glared at the creatures.

Then Faes memories started to come back when he heard Canie words.

Faestus was an orphan, both his parents were murdered by humans, they were both hybrid races and that just made it harder for him to survive, but he didn't harbor any resentment against humans.

When he reached one year old, the orphanage that adopted him, forced him to work, clean the rooms along with other orphans and carry heavy boxes around the place.

If one included the experiments they did to the kids, it would be called an inhuman place, but for some reason, the food didn't taste bad, and the kids had some time to play and full night's rest.

Day by day his sad expression was getting worse and the adults weren't happy with it, "Why do you look so tired? The one who is letting you live so comfortable is me." One told him with an angry tone, "You don't see me doing sad and tired expressions right? So I won't allow you to do."

With his usual obedient behavior, Faes started to make an expressionless face all the time, even when hit for doing something wrong or when he got sick with high fever, his expressionless face didn't change at all.

That is, until that day one year later...

"That's not how I told you to do it, you useless chimp!" An adult got angry with a kid, that kid is a girl from the Fire Monkey race, her parents were caught by slave traders and she was the only able to flee, here they were using her for the fire needed in their alchemy products, so if she failed to heat the exact amount they want she would suffer a severe punishment.

Her body was already full of bruises, and when the adult tried to pierce one of her ears to put a tag on her, Faes got in the way, for some time he got hit by the adult until he blacked out, and when he woke up the girl was already marked, with blood dripping from her ear.

It was just an act of compassion but what happens next is just terror, a horrible show of revenge, that no one would be able to tell how or why did this happen.

And when he noticed it, the entire orphanage was already destroyed.

And the girl was, dead.

After days walking through the forest while starving, he was saved by an adventurer who was only passing by.

"What was this boy doing here of all places?" The adventurer asked himself, looking at the gray long-haired boy, with a blue left eye and a black right-eye.

The adventurer was going home, his home at a run-down village.

Coming back to his senses, Faestus, who saw their last ray of hope, heard Canie words and understood right away what he has to do now.

He rushed to it without looking back, bared his fangs and bit it, it was the Toburi's corpse that they killed a long time ago, it's blood was already stopping to flow but what remains was enough to make Faestus change.

His both black eyes turned into a Blue and Black pair, then his gray short hair started to grow a reddish color from the root.

Back then, while he was walking in the forest in search for help Faes noticed that the reason behind the destruction of the orphanage was his own blood, his parents were a Dhampyr and a Half-Titan, both were races influenced by the Blood-Moon. Which means that a child born from these two would grow faster than his age and drinking blood will make him stronger as well.

Faes in special had a talent for Blood skills since his birth, obtaining the unique skill.

[Blood Essence]

After Canie checked Faestus's status through an old device in the village he decided to seal it.

Now that Faes drank blood again, the seal has been broken and his status could be seen, he had already been taught how to see them, but it was his first time doing it.

"Status," Faes thought as a small floating white square appeared showing his information.

Without looking back, Faes ran with all his might, he knew everything from the Torubi memories and the only choice is running away from this place.

If he is lucky enough, they might give up on chasing him and go away from this place, then he will be able to find Canie.

Believing in this he went home as fast as possible.

When he got home, exhausted and breathing really hard, he sits at his favorite place in the floor, waiting for Canie, the only who could of know this place, to come back.

Then as he fell asleep right there, and the night quickly passed by.

Next day he waited, leaving his place only once to get the books on a shelf and spent all day reading them.

While reading he fell asleep and woke up the next day just to see that Canie had not come back.

Yet he waited, and several hours passed.

*Gruuh* A sound that resembles a growl could be heard, but it was just Faestus stomach grumbling.

"Muh, Hungry..." Faes who is lying in a pile of books said to himself.

He had tried to eat the food that they left in the storage but his stomach didn't accept it and he ended up vomiting it all, so it was very clear that the effect of[Blood Addict]is acting up.

There is no blood for him to drink in the house neither he has the energy nor courage to go out and hunt.

While he was thinking about how to deal with this predicament, maybe by reflex or just because he couldn't think by himself, he said to himself.

"I don't want to be alone anymore."

"You must be having it hard, ki?" Suddenly a girl sits next to him.

〖Race Explanation〗

〖Titans〗

They are one of the races who lived in the world before the gods appeared, after losing their place to the Real Humans they started to live in the south of Szerar, as it was the most dangerous place of the continent this race had a hard time surviving.

While some of them went to other continents by sea, the others tried to live with the humans but they were caught and turned into slaves.

This race can roughly live for 400 years before dying of old age, their physical appearance stops aging when they reach twenty years.

Even a titan's kid is at least one meter tall, and an adult is four to five meters, sincerely, human's walls could be easily climbed by them, the reason the lost their place was that their magic aptitude is too low to use magic properly, and against Real Humans who can use magic very well, the chances were thin.

Titans benefit from the Blood Moon instead of the Blood Sun, and like any other moon race, they are born with the [Dark Vision]skill.

〖Fire Monkeys〗

They are a Blood Sun race, who lived in Soldrin before the Sun Elves took over the place, after they were hunted down and some were sold as slaves, the Elves let them live in the forest as workers and have their own small villages.

Those who tried to flee were treated as criminals and sold as slaves, because of their appearance, the males had a robust body that resembled normal gorillas, while the females had more human-like bodies if one ignored their red hair and tail.

They were intelligent enough to learn more about thing around them and seemed to have a good magic aptitude for Fire-Attribute, from birth they're given the [Fire-Attribute Resistance] and [Fire Breath] skills.

Fire Monkeys can live up to 50 years, and their physical appearance stop aging at 14 years old, it is said that after giving birth the females can extend their lives to 80 years, and for that reason most of their leaders are women.
