Unexpected End

The voice came closer but I reckoned with my life.

I felt how it would become hotter and hotter... I knew his rod was already close to my body.

It was as hot as hell itself.

I had no hope of surviving.

Father... were you ever proud of me? I never made it as far as he did... I hope you can forgive me father.

Hopefully we will meet again soon.

"Don't give up yet" I couldn't tell if it was the voice inside me or the voice running towards me and the hooded person.

And all of a sudden it became cold... very cold...

"And that's how fast it ends with you Musashi Akiyame!" The hooded person lashed out and struck.

"YOU DIDN'T EXPECT THAT!" a girl screamed and kicked the hooded person in the face.

The man fell to the ground. He was startled, as he didn't expect anyone to break through his barrier.

He doesn't even know how this... wait a minute. It's a girl? A girl managed to break through such a magical barrier? It can't be. Who is she?!

Rione took Musashi and ran away with him as fast as she could.

The hooded man created a new layer of his magical barrier. She couldn't make it through.

"Shit!" she said in despair.

"A little girl like you will never make it through this double barrier!" the hooded man shouted from far away. He slowly approached Rione.

"I have to do it... I just have to do it for him. He stood up for me, so I stand up for him!"

Rione carefully put her hand on the barrier. It hurt as if one thousand hot flames were disintegrating her hand. She endured the pain and concentrated.

She concentrated on the origin of this magic and was able to find out what the original structure of the barrier was.

"Decomposition of the origin" she whispered with closed eyes. The barrier dissolved into its original form. In magic particles.

"WHAT?! HOW CAN A GIRL LIKE YOU DESTROY A BARRIER OF THAT QUALITY?!" screamed the hooded man in despair.

Rione said nothing and ran off with Musashi on her back. The man did not run after him, as he would cause too much of a stir in the city.

"Just made it," said Rione with relief.

"Now we just have to get Musashi home... wait a minute. Where does he live anyway?" Said Rione thoughtfully

"I'll have to bring him to my place first," she said, blushing.

"Rione please don't think about that" she said to herself.

Rione went home with Musashi.

Luckily she lived alone. She put Musashi on her bed and waited. It was already late night. and he was still not awake... she would have to sleep next to him.

She has only this one bed. Well, the next day is school. So she fell asleep next to him.

3 o'clock in the morning...

Rione woke up because she noticed Musashi's fever. He was sweating all over his body.

He looked like he was having a nightmare.

I have to cool him down somehow or something like that... right I still have towels in the bathroom!

I could wet them and cool him down with them.

So Rione went and got her towels. She wet the towels and went back to her bed. Musashi's condition was worsening. She had to undress him so the towels touched his skin directly.

That was the only way to cool him down properly.

"But... you can't... I mean... we're 16... and ehm well... he's a boy and ehm... I-I'm a girl... well. But I have to do it. Come on Rione you can do it!"

She slowly undressed him. She lifted his arms so she could take off his hoodie... when the hoodie was off, she saw his well-toned torso. Muscles as hard as steel.

But he had a huge scar on his chest.

"Where did this scar come from?" Rione asked herself.

"I wonder if it's from the fight with that man? From the fight with this man?

No, it can't be. No wound heals that quickly into a scar," Rione stated.

"Well, his pants are still missing" said Rione and turned red.

She slowly took off his pants as well.

"His legs look pretty bad."

She put wet towels all over his body.

She noticed that his temperature was dropping and he was sleeping more peacefully again.

She was relieved.

"I thought he was going to die right before my eyes..." She sighed.

"I think I'll sign us both out for tomorrow.... we're way too exhausted... we'll go see the doctor first," Rione said.

The next morning she shook him and hoped that he would wake up.

"Get up already! It's already 10 o'clock in the morning!!!" cried Rione.

,,Huh? What is it...." said Musashi sleepily, slowly opening his eyes.

,,I signed you out because I wanted to go to the doctor with you today. You got hit pretty hard" she said worriedly.

"What do you mean, yesterday?"

"Doesn't he remember?" Rione wondered.

"It doesn't matter for now. Let's just go to the doctor, okay?" asked Rione, confused.

"We can do it. But I feel really fit. What happened yesterday anyway?" He broke off in the middle of the sentence.

His memories of the night before slowly came back. He remembered that a hooded person defeated him and he was about to die.

Suddenly he felt a stabbing in his chest. He winced and groaned in pain.

"AH!" he cried out in pain.

"What's wrong?" Rione asked worriedly.

"I don't know...it-it hurts so much in my chest." Rione pulled the covers down a little and noticed that his skin was changing at his heart. It turned blue with a red tinge.

"What is this?" asked Musashi worriedly.

It was spreading. A couple of "webs" were coming from his heart, which were turning blue and red.

"We need to see a doctor as soon as possible!" Rione shouted anxiously.

We started walking. I wondered why Rione was so worried.

I mean... it was just a short stinging and. I don't know... I think my father had it too, so maybe it's a hereditary trait or something like that.

Well I will see what the doctor says.

After much back and forth discussion with Rione that I was fine and we could turn around we arrived at the doctor's office.

I sat down together with Rione in the waiting room and waited. It felt like years passed until it was my turn.

"Musashi Akiyame please go to room 4" said the receptionist.

Me and Rione went to room 4 and sat down. But somehow the doctor was not there yet.

I looked out the window and watched the birds outside sitting in the trees and building a nest. I saw two birds. It looked like a couple.

"I wonder if I will have a family of my own one day. Will I be able to rebuild my clan?"

I imagined myself rebuilding the old Akiyame village and training the next generation of fighters. An imagination which is completely useless.

I don't know any woman who could revive the clan together with me.

Well, surely there will be a bond at some point.

"So you are Akiyame-san?" asked a man standing behind me.

It was the doctor. I realized

"Yes, I am"

"Good, then please take off your top. I need to take a look at your chest and do a little examination" he said as if he had said this sentence a thousand times before.

So I took off my hoodie and showed him this strange discoloration.

He looked quite skeptical. Suddenly he left the room quickly and I heard him communicating with someone in the next room.

But it sounded more like he was being forced.

"We found him. He is here," was the only thing I understood.

"I don't feel safe here, Rione. Please let us go quickly."

"But wha-" I interrupted her.

Let's just get out of here quickly.

I grabbed her arm and opened the back door, which was made of glass.

I just had to get Rione to safety as soon as possible and get out. Something is going on here that has nothing to do with medical examination.

"Get him!" shouted the doctor. Many of his employees ran after us.

I can't use my power against ordinary citizens.

I just have to run faster.
