"You do know today is the family annual meeting and this is all you could come up with," she said looking disgusted 😖by the whole idea of it.

"I..." he wanted to explain but was interrupted " when we get there you sit in the corner and don't talk or walk around I don't want to be embarrassed by you," she said with enough disdain in her voice. He smiled and nodded being immune😐 to all sarcasm thrown at him by both his wife and inlaws.

"You have been in my family for two years and you can't come up with anything reasonable to do. Even if you're a pig and want to rely on us what can you do?" she asked. "Well I don't have any talent neither do I know how to make money but I do know how to cook and clean", he said with an indifferent tone and face and she gritted her teeth with frustration😤.

Yutong didn't understand why her grandfather made her marry this rubbish 👀 with the title of the IDIOT 🤣 round the city. Was her grandfather confused?🤨. What's more puzzling was that he asked her not to look down on him but to treat him with much respect and courtesy. If it wasn't to avoid making her family look like fools to the world she would have divorced him.

SiCheng who understands her anger towards him for the past two years, for being an embodiment of embarrassment and also with his title in the city is very happy that she hasn't thrown him out of the house yet 🤣.

As they reached the family villa, the courtyard is already filled with people chatting on two's and three's, "Yutong" one of the clansmen called "you're here, I have been waiting for you " they come to greet her one by one and knowingly ignored the existence of SiCheng of which man's already used to. Better to be ignored than to be taken as a joke, he thought. He went directly to the corner and sat down under the tree and drank fruit juice since it's all they would let him take not wanting to waste their good wine on him. Li Yang, Yutong's cousin will always take every opportunity to make life seem meaningless for him saying he is worthless. "SiCheng what gift did you bring to this year's annual meeting?" asked Yang, smiling knowing the man is flat broke and has nothing on his name still wanted to make a fool of him so that he will be happy.

Now the Li family has always had a strong sense of honour and he (SiCheng) joining the family has tarnished the family's image and lowered their reputation in their society.

"I DIDN'T BRING ANY GIFT" he answered, "Then why do you have the face to sir here and drink juice" yang sneered. "Is there a law that stipulates that we must bring gifts to the meeting?" SiCheng asked🤨. Ha! "last year you bought a silver necklace for a low price which turned out to be fake, are you that poor that you can't afford it this year?" Yang asked as he smiled wittily. "well I can't afford it as you've said and apparently, you don't like fake things and I don't like to waste money" SiCheng answered with a clear mind which caused everyone to laugh at him

Yutong who was discussing with her friends what famous brands of cosmetics are good, of which she indicated she was going to buy a set, heard what SiCheng said and was embarrassed at such remarks and hid her face for she was ashamed😥. He was asked to keep a low profile throughout the meeting but made a mess a few minutes into the occasion.

"You love vanity Yutong! your family isn't buoyant and your still here talking about buying expensive things with us", her relations sneered at her and laughed. " he is he and I am me, we haven't been as husband and wife since we got married and sides the economy is fair" she gets to play calm and hide her ignominy whilst explaining the situation and not leading the topic to herself.

Li Yang takes out a beautifully packaged box and looks at SiCheng and said " look at the present I brought, it's a 2800 gramme statue of GUANYIN, do you know how much it's worth?" he held out the 30cm high AVALOKITESVARA in his hands and said " 1.22 million yuan" he boasted.

The sparkles on the host of the statue shine with much allure and misty lustre which is worthy of a golden GUANYIN. "It's beautiful," SiCheng said trying as much as possible to adhere to the warnings of his wife before they left the house. Yang didn't want to stop there so he said "scrapping some gold of it, am afraid it can cover your family's expenses for the year!", the whole villa laughed 🤣🤣

Although Yutong doesn't want to get involved as her husband was maltreated, even though she hasn't let him touch her since they got married, she has to take his side seeing he was insulted in front of the family she was very embarrassed at this. "Li Yang that's enough, you don't have to show off it's your business to give what you want," she said coldly

Wei SiCheng was surprised at this because since he joined the family this is the first time his dearly beloved has spoken up for him.
