1 The Beauty is a Beast!

The match between Ace High's and X Academy's all girl baseball team was a tie. No one could believe it. Who could have guessed that the rumored "goddess" of X Academy would join the baseball team during her senior year? Who would have guessed the trash team would suddenly fare well underneath her guidance?

Speaking of said goddess. . .

A girl about the age of eighteen stepped out onto the field with a bat, her team screaming louder than usual.

"Go Fei Guiying!"

"Sister Fei, it's up to you now!"

"You have to settle this!"

"Settle it!"

Fei Guiying? Wasn't that the rumored goddess' real name? All of a sudden the males in the crowd became lively, they whistled and cat-called, all eyes were on her.

The girl was slender, embedded in her curvy hips was a feminine swagger that boasted self-assurance. With her long ponytail poking out from her baseball cap, swishing with each step, everyone craned their necks for a peek underneath. After all, rumor was it that the goddess was a great beauty.

But alas, as if sensing everyone's gazes she tugged down on her cap as she wrapped her navy blue polished fingernails over her neon pink baseball bat. The only thing exposed was her wine-red lips that pursed in disapproval at the baseball pitcher who just stood there and gawked.

What were they all staring at?

The pitcher was distracted for many reasons, nail polish, pink baseball bats, long hair, and lipstick- did she even take baseball seriously?

And why was her boyfriend one of the idiots in the crowd cheering her on when he can't even see her face? Traitor! Everything was grating on her nerves.

During this time, Fei Guiying took the time to leisurely chew and blow a bubble of black licorice gum. When her patience finally reached its end, popped it.

"Oi! What're you waiting for? New Years?"

Fei Guiying wasn't the only one who had lost patience. The pitch's delayed response resulted in the audience to start chanting.

"Throw the ball! Throw the ball!"

The pitcher humphed.

"She's just a girly, girl, pretty face but no skill, what's all the fuss about?!"

The pitcher's team mates cheered her on.

"Show her how a real ball is pitched!"

"Make her piss her pants!"

"Let her know this is a real match not a fashion shoot!"

The pitcher sneered. A vicious light flickered in her eyes as she readied herself, she threw up a leg and pitched the ball, which was thrown so fast no one could see that it was heading right for Fei Guiying's face.

In that split second, Fei Guiying looked up a dormant fire exploding in her clear black eyes.

Want to harm me?! Hmph! Such tricks won't work on me!

The sweet sound of the bat connecting with the ball clearly rang out but once again it was too fast to see. No one had noticed the ball whizzing right back, centimeters away from the pitcher's face.

CRACK!

The ball crashed into one of the trees outside the field, the ball should have fallen or bounced off but it didn't.

Everyone gave it a second but it didn't budge.

Was it stuck? How much force could she have hit it with for the ball to be stuck? What the hell?!

The pitcher felt weak in the knees, what if that was her face?

"M-m-monster!. . ."

While the opposing team was caught off guard, Fei Guiying and her other teammates made a home run.

It was X Academy's win!

Fei Guiying was lifted up by her teammates who were overjoyed at their first win in history.

Farther off the bleacher's a man wearing sunglasses spoke into a walkie-talkie.

"There's your shot, take it!"

Farther away on the rooftop of Ace High, a sniper who had been waiting in position, didn't waste any more time and fired.

In seconds, Fei Guiying was seeing red. Her teammates screamed but instead of dropping her from sheer fright, sought shelter behind their school bus.

"S-sister Fei-someone quickly call the ambulance!"

Fei Guiying weakly held up a hand as if to say "No need." The bullet had lodged itself in her throat. She couldn't speak. She closed her eyes.

She hadn't expected her older brother to make his move this quickly, she always figured it would be on graduation day, not a week before.

She had never yearned to be the company executive of her Grandfather's architecture firm, why couldn't he understand that?

The only reason her Grandfather doted on her even though her older brother was more experienced was because of the resemblance to his late daughter, Fei Guiying's mother.

He disowned her after her first marriage ended scandalously, she eloped with another man, and later got in a car accident with her and her husband. So after discovering her existence he naturally wanted to make atonements but he ended up neglecting her older brother's talents and competence in the process.

Fei Guiying let out a long sigh. She had always lived her life freely without any restraints knowing that it would somehow end like this one day. She had no regrets and she didn't have the will to carry on living anyway. To begin with, she should have died back then in the arms of her late mother.

On her last breath, her teammates sobbed and cried out her name. Their wails ascended up into the sky.

Somewhere up in the clouds in a galaxy far away, the luscious black lips of a woman smiled.

"This one will do."
