"What did you find, My Lord?"

Maxieno gripped Edna's wrist tighter, hiding the dragon tattoo in the girl's arm, so Otis wouldn't see it. He watched the old man who was waiting for his answer. Maxieno just smiled and shook his head.

"It's nothing. Just an answer from my assumption so far. I have confirmed something extraordinary."

"Would you mind sharing it with me?"

"No, not yet. Just treat the wound on Edna's back for now."

Otis didn't push his luck. He was used to his master's attitude. Not once or twice the man had said something ambiguous. Otis walked closer and saw the numerous bruises on Edna's back.

"My Lord, please… discipline the other dragons. If it continues, Edna might lose her limbs."

Otis rubbed Edna's back gently, trying not to press too hard so as not to hurt her. After wiping the girl's back, he dried it with a clean cloth.
