Chapter Nineteen:

All at once Jinta, Ururu, and the old man released strong attacks on any remaining hollows in the area; something that Izumi had predicted would happen. In a way she was thankful, now both Ichigo and Ishida could regroup and come up with a proper plan of action.

"So strong! The amount of hollows in the area are disappearing fast!" Ishida looked at the groups assaults amazed while Ichigo stared on at Kisuke in shock; he knew Izumi's family was strong, but he hadn't expected them to be this strong. It blew his mind, if he were honest with himself he would admit that it slightly scared him. It seemed this man was always somewhere in his life, maybe that was because he was so close to Izumi, or maybe that was because he was just some creep? Ichigo honestly didn't know.

"Why are you here?" he questioned more to himself then it was directed towards the sandal wearing man. Ichigo stared on as the man raised a fan to cover half of his face while the children protected him from behind. The man seemed completely unbothered by their actions, like they had done this before; which Ichigo guessed they most likely did.

"As I said before, we've come to the rescue!-" he paused and dragged his eyes over to the duel blade wielding woman who had yet to turn around; he knew Izumi was still upset with him, but at the moment he was just happy to see her with his own eyes. "We'll take care of the surrounding small fry, in order for you, Kurosaki, to concentrate on fighting that one." he pointed up towards the giant hollow in the sky which was looking around slowly.

Both boys followed to where he was pointing and saw the large beast before gulping loudly; the action made Kisuke glare slightly at them. If they were man enough to start this battle, then they should be man enough to face anything that came out of it. Without saying anything for a moment he looked over at Izumi and decided to reach out to her; he knew she would have an extremely difficult time with the upcoming battle; whether she participated or not.

"And you too Izumi. It's time to stop acting like a child, this isn't the time for idle chit-chat." At that the large beast began ripping at the slit it had made in the sky more, it was trying to escape through it.

"What is that thing!" Ishida called out not expecting a response, though he wasn't surprised when Izumi turned towards them with her eyes closed and her arms out in front of her, her hands forming the symbol of the boar. She was concentrating on masking everyone's spiritual pressures all at once, but she decided to answer the young Quincy's question; hoping to ease his mind.

"It's known as a Menos Grande." she paused as the incredible spiritual pressure of the beast poured out more since the opening in the sky got wider. "This giant thing, is created when multiple hollows combine together, by multiple I mean hundreds. A normal soul reaper most likely would have never seen one of these other than when they go through the academia; therefore most would think that battling something so large would be impossible." she paused when she stretched out to mask over Rukia's spiritual pressure as well as the others; personally Izumi had never dreamed of showing that little girl any kindness, but in her current state she knew that Rukia wouldn't even be able to scratch the beast. Just that little extra effort made her job a thousand times harder than what it normally was.

"Continue?" Ishida demanded more than asked, everyone in earshot glared heatedly at the boy but Izumi nodded her head and sucked in a breath; she didn't blame him for being scared.

"Usually these creators are under a special jurisdiction of elite forces; since normal inexperienced soul reapers weren't expected to take on such foes."

The remaining hollows screamed loudly towards the large beast when it completely emerged from the hole in the sky; Izumi continued to stand with her eyes closed and attempting to keep complete control over everyone's pressures so they wouldn't be it's first target. The boys were completely unprepared for when it's large disgusting tongue darted out and captured some of the smaller hollows before pulling them into it's mouth. Blood splattered everywhere, dripping down through it's large monstrous teeth; the crunching of their bodies was the only thing that made Izumi open her eyes once and for all.

She had made her preparations, as long as no one over stepped her boundaries, or killed her of course, then everyone she cared about would be safe from exposing their true spiritual pressures which would gather unwanted attention that they didn't need; she had an especially tight grip on Ichigo's pressure.

"It's eating them, it's eating it's fellow hollows!" The dark haired boy exclaimed, completely amazed and surprised that the large beast would do such a thing. The only thing that drew his attention away from the sight was the sound of nervous chuckling coming from Ichigo.

"What's so funny Kurosaki?" the Quincy thought the orange haired boy had finally lost his mind.

"There's no way we can figure out how to fight that sort of monster-" he paused while watching the beast continue to devour it's own kind. "With this sort of guy, all we have to do is cut, cut, and cut with all of our might! That's the only way to take him down!" Izumi turned towards her friend quickly realizing that he was most likely about to do something stupid; that's how he always was when he was intimidated; he never showed it, but he was always scared.

"Hold on Ichi-" before she could finish her sentence he was already rushing off with his sword swinging above his head like a mad man. Both Izumi and Ishida stood calling after him but he simply ignored them and continued to run like a mad man towards danger. Izumi shrugged her shoulders at the dark haired boy when he gave her a tired and questioning look; his is how their friendships all were. After she shrugged both of them took off after Ichigo in a panic; they completely forgot about the others who they had left to finish off the small fry.

During his running Ichigo came into the veiw of Rukia who tried to call out to him, to stop him before he got himself hurt; she couldn't see the others chasing the teen yet. Her calls were silenced by Kisuke.

"Urahara! What is the meaning of this? Do you wish for Ichigo to die!" Rukia glared heavily at the older man but stopped when Izumi's chuckles could be heard from the distance; looking back in that direction, the young dark haired girl watched as Izumi and Ishida both chased after him quickly; he wasn't alone.

"Of course not." At his voice Rukia jumped forwards.

"Then move aside! If you don't stop them, they won't know that it's not an opponent Ichigo or Izumi can win against!" As quick as lightening Kisuki shoved her backwards before casting a binding spell on her body.

"That's no good, I can't do that Kuchiki; please watch quietly. This battle is crucial to Ichigo. However don't you worry, Izumi won't let things get out of hand; she after all, was the one to first defeat one of these monsters."

Rukia's eyes widened as she watched Izumi run without really seeming to try. Only one thought ran through her mind; this girl was a monster, and she was most certainly exactly who she says she is.
