Let's go

"I would like to redo our meeting if that's ok Paige. I'm Jaxson's and Axel's father Andrew and this is my wife Carol".

His dad is quite nice and friendly Paige thought.

"Please to meet you both".

Paige shook Andrew's hand and smiled over at Carol.

"Did you chase my son because he's rich"?

Paige was taken aback by Carol's abrupt question, she didn't know what to say back to her.

"Mum she's just moved here and we met by chance you know how these things usually work its fate".

Jaxson came to Paige's defence and gave her a wink.

The waiter comes in and it gives Paige a chance to breathe and calm herself. Her stomach is churning with all the questions and glares from Jaxson's mum. She knew this would be a bad idea but didn't think it would go so bad so quickly.

"So how did you both meet".

Jaxson's mum asks with a touch of loathing while she looks at Paige.

"I met cupcake first". Paige would be as honest as she could with Carol's questions.

"Cupcake?". Andrew asks a bit confused.

"Sorry Charlie, I call him cupcake. Anyway I met him first. He was being bullied by a bunch of other kids".

"Where was Natalie?". Andrew asks his eyebrows knitting together.

"She was talking to her friends in a different Isle. Cupcake was so adorable I sent those kids back to there parents and took him straight to Axel. Jaxson met after all that".

Paige looked at Jaxson and he smiles to reassure her.

"Son I hoped she was warned and fired". Andrew says.

"Yes, immediately and I asked her to leave the...".

"Good job son, she also had too many ideas in her head. She wanted more than just to look after my grandson and it seemed she didn't even do that well".

"Grandpa, pretty sister saved me. Natalie was always mean and never played with me. Pretty sister takes me everywhere and we make the best brownies".

Cupcake smiles up at Paige and she rubbed his little head thanking him for putting in a good word for her.

"So you orchestrated this using my grandson and got a reliable pack member fired". Carol said loudly slamming her hand down on the table, it could break with the amount of force.

"No.. wait pack member?". Paige looked at Jaxson and Axel but she got no response.

"Mum, Natalie as dad said had bigger ideas and had neglected to look after Charlie it was my mistake. She should have been fired ages ago but she's your friend's daughter so I didn't. Thankfully it leads my bro here to his Lu.. love".

Axel is very kind in defending Paige. All the boys and their dad are very kind it just seemed to be their mum. Paige knew it isn't gonna be easy to get her to like her. It'll take time so she can see the real Paige.

She smiled when she thought how Carol reminds her that's how her nanny will be towards Jaxson when the time came for them to meet.

She understood that parents want the best for their children and her nanny wanted the best for her also. So even though she will like him like Paige does she will warm him, probably just like Carol was doing now.

The waiter enters and sets down our food. There's another knock at the door and two women and a man enter they smile and shake hands with everyone except myself and cupcake. Then they take their seats.

"Shouldn't this lady take Charlie to another room so the matchmaking can begin?". The woman in a yellow dress says.

"Sorry, we didn't realise Jaxson has met his... has a girlfriend already, so tonight won't be happening". Says Andrew apologetically.

"Nothing set in stone yet. Please sit we can all get to know each other no harm".

Carol seemed determined to matchmake Jaxson with the young girl sat opposite me.

"Mum you enjoy your dinner with your friend's. Paige is my girlfriend she's not going anywhere".

Jaxson takes Paige's hand and pulls her to stand up with him.

"Sorry, dad". Jaxson nodded at his father and guided Paige out.

"No problem son I understand". They are walked out and cupcake runs to her and holds on to her thighs.

"If pretty sister is leaving I am too. She's family and no other lady can take her place".

He looks up at Paige with his puppy dog eyes. Axel also stands up walks to us and picks up cupcake.

"Let's go".

They all walk out and all the guilt of ruining a family dinner hits Paige. Jaxson pulls her into his warm embrace and kisses her forehead.

"Don't worry my mum will calm down and when she does it will be easier in the meantime food and me and your time".

He kisses her head again. They reach the car, he opens the door for Paige and she gets in.

Jaxson talks to Axel and then we leave to go home separately. Paige wanted to make it right, make him happy enough to smile again and to reassure him too.

"Chinese?". Jaxson's smiles at her.

"Perfect".

They drive to the restaurant. When they stop and unbuckle she reached over and held his face and kissed him on the lips. It felt like fireworks and butterfly's inside your stomach. We get a bit more hot, heavy and passionate. He licks her lips and before she knew it she was on his lap making out like she was 17 again, not that she ever did that.

"We should stop".

He says and she leaned her head on his chest to agree. They go and pick up a mega-size Chinese and bring it back home.
