2 2. the Dining Hall

On the way there Ameria's mind was elsewhere, she once again wondered what it would be like outside her tribe walls. Suddenly a hand appeared apparently out of nowhere and touched her sides. Ameria, who was stuck in her own little world jumped with fright and in reflex, her hand shot out to her boots, grabbing a small pocketknife.

"Mana happened? Mana's raica? Did qua happen?" (what happened? what's wrong? did something happen?) Ameria asked, confused when she saw no danger. Drannor shook his head, amused at his daughter's antics. Taeyna on the other hand, looked at her knife. "where did you get that?" She asked, curious why her daughter had a knife. "self-defence..?" Ameria said slowly.

Taeyna looked at her suspiciously, but let it go. Ameria sighed in relief, a small smirk graced her face. She uses that pocketknife like a throwing knife and practises using it, almost every day. Drannor was the first one to have their sights on the Dining Hall. It looked like a palace of some sorts, loads of windows, three stories high, a beautiful garden filled with flowers and trees.

On the edge of the garden is a fence like the bush, giving it another reason to call the Diner pretty. There is a path you can take, it leads you through the 25 yards of the garden. You can spot a couple of polished and cleaned chairs around the place.

There is even a small staircase you have to climb up to get the front porch. The Front porch had thick stone poles holding up the roof that had vines hanging down, some of the rooms upstairs had a small veranda for the Elves who like to enjoy the outside. Ameria could never get enough of its beauty.

Ameria's chestnut coloured hair that had blue strands, fanned her face as she looked down at all the flowers. Her hair was inches from touching the ground, refusing to get it cut. Her piercing amber eyes studied the way they blew in the wind, the shades of colours.

She was called strange for the fact that she had blue in her hair, how her mind could drift off at the simple sight of flowers, animals and houses. Ameria never once swooned over any of the male Elves in her tribe as the rest did.

Ameria wondered what was so special about the men. yeah, they were good looking, strong, had the best jobs. The thing they lack is; compassion. They only want a pretty Elf, with a good body and a good-ish role as their wife, they don't want someone with the lowest role, slightly fewer curves or isn't as pretty as they want them to be.

She loved her parents just for the fact that they actually fell in love with each other, not because of their appearance or job. They made it to the stairs, Ameria noticed the little swirls of design in them as she walked up to them.

Ameria heard a small cough, looking up she spotted her best friend, Theodemar Wysaberos. She had known Theodemar since they were toddlers, they grew up together and they both wanted to be a Brave. Sadly, Theodemar's birthday isn't till 7 moons after the trial.

Ameria smiled, running up the stairs and giving him a tight hug. Theodemar, well Theo for short chuckled, hugging her back. "two moons till your birthday!" He cheered, Theo was always slightly jealous at the fact that she was older and would be able to try for the Braves before him. He loved her nonetheless, in a friendly way, or so Ameria thought.

Ameria grinned. "I know, I'm so excited!" Ameria smirked, shaking her head. "Tye still have cainen moons till your birthdaime, méra tye could trime eth -esse i trial as me" (you still have ten moons till your birthday, wish you could try out in the trial with me) She frowned at the end, sad that he couldn't participate with her.

Theo smirked "well, I will have more practise to do better for it next year," He said, punching her shoulder lightly. Theodemar wasn't like the rest. He didn't care what a girl looked like or what job they had. It was all about their personality.

Ameria grabbed Theo's wrist, pulling him inside the magnificent building. The room was like a ball, it had so much space on the bottom floor, a golden chandelier that Ameria spotted had flower designs on it and had white walls with swirl patterns. The tables were made out of Stone.

The second floor had a sparkly theme, it had faded pink walls, a candle chandelier and had wooden tables and chairs. The designs were slightly more detailed here, only cause the slightly rich ones go there. That's where Ameria's family go since Taeyna gets paid quite well.

The third floor is meant to be magical, platinum Chandeliers hanging from the roof, delicate utensils and markings all over the place made with care. That is where the King, Queen and their family go. Their balcony was the best, you could see the whole tribe from there, even past the walls.

Ameria loved to sit on the balcony with Theo on the second floor, joking around about everything and anything. Ameria gazed down at the garden, her hands on the balcony's poles. they also had a slight design on them. It amazed her that her great, great grandfather made this and still looking like it just got built yesterday not 400 years ago.

She jumped, hearing the door open, turning she saw Theo, sighing in relief, she waved and smiled. Theodemar thought Ameria was perfect, she was kind, nice, caring, she notices the tiniest thing whether it would be a design on a building or a ladybug, she was fierce and determined when she wanted to be, she stood up for herself and so much more.

Theo would never admit that to her though, as she sees him nothing more than a friend. He walked over to her, noticing the way her hair, blew away from her face slightly, showing her amber eyes, her small button nose, perfect jawline, plump lips and a heart-shaped face.

Ameria smiled softly, she sat down on one of the chairs, looking at Theo. She studied his strong jawline, it looked sharp enough to cut yourself with, his long-ish black hair, he likes to cut it short but not too short. His chiselled face, chocolate brown eyes and how they sparkle when he finds something funny or is talking about something he loves. How about his nose, he scrunches it up when he sees something he dislikes.

Amelia shook her head, getting rid of her thoughts. She watched a waitress walk over to their table, smiling she grinned. "Elanil its mára ana cen- tye en-" (Elanil it's good to see you again) Ameria began in Elvish.

Elanil laughed, shaking her head "Hello, Amelia. Order the same?" she asked Ameria who nodded. Elanil turned to Theo, smirking. "can I have-" Theo was cut off "Steak, as i side dish -o salad" (steak, with the side dish of salad) the girls both spoke " we know" Ameria said, laughing.

Theo smiled partially daydreaming about Ameria. "of course you guys do" He mumbled playfully. Elanil smiled one more time before she disappeared behind the doors once again. Ameria reached over, touching his hair lightly. "you cut it?" she asked, he nodded happy that she noticed.

Theo glanced at her hair, smirking "and I can see you haven't" he teased. Ameria grabbed her hair, pulling it close to her. "excuse me, you have your own hair to look at" she joked. Theo laughed, smiling to himself. "I know, I like yours better though" he grinned. "Whime? Marty- -yes has vindya strands ar yours doesn't?" (why? cause it has blue strands and yours doesn't?) Ameria teased playfully.

"nooo" Theodemar joked back, amused. Drannor could faintly hear their playful banter, smirking. "Little Theo boy has a crush on our daughter" he informed Taeyna who smiled. "good, at least it's him and no one else" She smirked.

Drannor nodded, his lips curled up into a grin. "I wonder when our dear, dear Ameria will notice" He chuckled, biting his lip. "she better notice soon," Taeyna said, half serious, half joking. Taeyna turned her head slightly to the door that leads to the balcony, humming. "they are seated furthest away from the door"

Meanwhile, Ameria and Theodemar were having a little argument over what food is better. Steak or Fish. Ameria huffed "Fish is better, they taste better" she informed. Theo shook his head "Steak tastes way better." Theo argued.

Ameria shook her head, crossing her arms across her chest. "no it's not" She argued. They both glared at each other, waiting for their food to arrive and show which one is better. Theo smirked confidently knowing his Steak would be better. Ameria grinned, knowing her's was better. They continued waiting, their faces never breaking from their grin or smirk.
