8 The Donor: The Novel Version

Hi my sweet lovely readers,

Hope you are all well during these tough times. ^.^

I've got something to ask you. A friend of mine encouraged me to write "The Donor" into a full novel. It might be around 100 chapters or more, depending on where the story will take me.

I love the story and the only reason I wrote it only as a short story was that I didn't have time to write it into a full novel because I have to make ends meet. I work my day job and juggle 2 ongoing novels that are contracted by this platform so I can make extra money.

I cannot write the third novel seriously if it's going to take me more time but no extra money since I only have 24 hours a day. So, in order to make room for a new book, I have to reduce my workload in other areas. I am not a popular author, with hundreds of thousands or tens of thousands of people as my fanbase, that I could write a little and make a lot.

At least not yet. I hope someday I will.

So, basically, if I want to make writing a career, I have to write a lot. Every hour is precious to me.

I was actually thinking that The Donor is not going to sell well if I write it as a novel, so, I didn't see the reason to dedicate my time to write it. I don't have the luxury. I also have several other novels that I really love but I didn't write them (yet) simply because I don't think they will sell.

However, my friend insisted that The Donor WILL sell if I write it as a novel and she encouraged me to do it.

I am not convinced.

The novels I am working on right now have their readers who love them, but even they are not commercially successful either, so I'm really hesitant about writing this one.

Please let me know your thoughts. You've seen how I write, you know my style, and you already know the story. Please give me your honest opinion.

Do you think it will sell? Do you think I should write it as a full novel? Would you personally find it worth the effort and do you think it's a story that you are willing to pay for?

I personally plan to write something from the popular tropes for the future book, just so that I could get more fanbase. Think CEO or arranged marriage or reincarnation... hahaha.

I mean.. I honestly feel discouraged because of how few people read my books here. Maybe I should write the popular tropes just to get popularity and then hopefully the new readers can check my other books (which I'm more proud of than the tropes one).

Ahh.. anyway.. sorry for ranting. I am honestly confused and need your help to decide. With those considerations in mind, should I write the Donor as a novel or not?

Give me your honest feedback.

Thank you so much!!

PS: If I do write it in full, the story setting will be moved entirely into a fictional country so readers can relate more easily with the characters.
