Did you sleep well last night?

The next day morning, Amelia woke up early and changed her nightgown into casual attire as she headed towards the dining room to have breakfast before the demonic family could wake up. She neither liked Mrs Langstone nor her good-for-nothing son. However, she liked Elder Langstone since he was the only person who treated her nicely.

To Amelia's surprise, both Elder Langstone and Mrs Langstone were having their breakfast by the time she got there. She questioned in her mind, 'When did they wake up? It's still 7.00 AM!'

"Good morning!" She fake smiled as she sat down face to face.

Only Elder Langstone replied to her greeting. "Good morning, dear. Did you sleep well last night?"

This time, Amelia smiled for real. "Oh yeah." In reality, she barely got a blink of sleep.

Mrs Langstone gave her an upset look. "Who ruined the kitchen last night?" Her tone was filled with annoyance. "My servants took more than an hour just to clean it. At least, you should pour water into pots. But you are so lazy to do a simple thing like that."

Amelia wanted to say that it was her son nevertheless, she couldn't bring herself to do that. She was his partner in crime after all.

"That's enough," Old Langstone snapped at his daughter. "It's a fresh day. Let bygones be bygones."

"But father it's her first day at this house and she has already started messing around. How can I tolerate something like that?"

"We are moving out."

The trio subconsciously looked in the direction where the voice came from.

Wearing his business suit and taking his suitcase, Caleb gracefully climbed down the stairs and came to the dining room, sitting next to Amelia. His strong perfume filled Amelia's nostrils as she inhaled it a few times, pretending to be nonchalant. 'Mmm... I wonder what's the brand. It must be so expensive.'

"What do you mean?" Mrs Langstone's voice snapped Amelia back to reality.

Caleb shrugged his shoulders. "I'm bored here. I hope you won't mind if I'm about to return to my apartment with my wife." He winked at Amelia, making her blush. "We need our privacy. I don't like anyone meddling."

"Who meddled? Your room is a soundproof one. What do you want more?" Mrs Langstone's words made Amelia blush even more. Like mother like son. Why were they so shameless?

"You don't understand." Elder Langstone sighed. "They are a young couple. Newlyweds! Giving them a room isn't enough. Moreover, he used to live in his apartment all these years. Why are you bothering him to stay here now? It's his choice so let him do whatever he wants to."

"No way." Mrs Langstone huffed loudly. "I won't spoil my children!"

"Duh! I'm not a kid anymore." Caleb rolled his eyes.

Mrs Langstone glared at him. "Watch your mouth, little rascal."

"How can you speak to your mother like that?" Elder Langstone chimed in.

Caleb casually took a bite from a sandwich. "Sorry, Mom. I was wrong."

"I see... you are becoming more and more daring, my darling." Mrs Langstone smiled at her son, making Caleb's heart skip a beat. He almost choked on his sandwich.

Caleb immediately lowered his eyes to his lap. He felt embarrassed when he remembered that Amelia was sitting beside him. He didn't want anyone to know that he was afraid of his mother.

Amelia was puzzled. She didn't know why he wanted to move out so badly. What happened actually?

"Just to clarify. I am the one who ruined your kitchen. Sorry, Mom. I don't want to trouble you anymore. You can live here peacefully."

"You should have told me!" Mrs Langstone kicked his foot under the table. "No, no. You can use the kitchen to your liking. I don't mind. Really..."

Amelia could only shake her head mentally. She treated her so differently. Why were mothers-in-law so unfair and unreasonable? She couldn't understand.

"What about your daughter-in-law?" Caleb's question surprised both Amelia and Mrs Langstone. Elder Langstone surpassed a smile.

Amelia looked at Caleb without blinking. Strangely enough, her heart melted like an ice cream. She never thought that he would take her side. For the first time in her life, she found him pleasing to her eyes. He wasn't that bad, right?

Mrs Langstone squinted her eyes unhappily. Has her son already become a wife's slave? That thought made her restless. Maybe letting them get married wasn't a good decision. She should have thought of something else.

"She... She..." She stammered. "Okay fine. Both of you can use the kitchen freely. I won't scold you anymore. But clean the kitchen after using it. It's not that hard."

"Still... we won't stay here, Mom." Caleb's voice was firm. "This evening, we hope to return to my apartment."

"What is it this time?" Mrs Langstone tiredly massaged her temples.

"Your servants make problems between me and my wife."

Amelia's heart started pounding faster and faster. She didn't expect him to say that. Did it mean... he didn't want to sleep with Gasia? What a pleasant surprise!

Elder Langstone turned his hands into fists. "Who is she? Is it Lorein?" He sensed Lorein's gaze on his grandson a few times. But he didn't expose her because he knew she was a poor girl and her entire family depended on her job. So he didn't have the heart to fire her. However, he didn't know that she dared to cross her limits. What a wicked witch!

Amelia carefully examined Caleb's face. Thin red lips, square jaw, pointed nose, attractive amber eyes, sharp chin, thick eyebrows, defined cheekbones... He was truly so handsome. A definition of a Greek god. No wonder lots of girls stole glances at his dazzling appearance. Amelia could only sigh in her heart. Handsome, rich people could rule the world if they wanted to...

It was so unfair!

She only wanted to find true love. She didn't care about how that person looked. She only wanted to experience what unconditional love was. But fate was a joke. It made her marry a man who was devilishly handsome. He had a weakness though.

He was a player. He played with women's feelings. He broke their hearts. How come a person like him was capable of giving unconditional love to a girl? How? Wasn't it a pure joke? If she were to hold hopes on him, more likely... it would crash down one day, right? In reality, she knew she couldn't seek true love from a playboy. They weren't meant for each other! They were fated to separate themselves from each other after a year.

Then why... Why did it make her feel sad and desperate?

No way...

She should not fall in love with a playboy!

Her life would be miserable if she dared to fall for Caleb!

Amelia shook her head in order to get rid of the horrible thoughts she was having. The moment she stepped into reality, she was caught off guard.

Gasia knelt in front of Elder Langstone, begging him not to kick her out of the mansion.

"What should we do to her, wifey?" Caleb nudged Amelia's shoulder as he asked. "Yesterday you fought with me because of her."

Amelia glared at him. "Shh! Shut up! Do you want everyone to know that we fought on our wedding night?"

Caleb blinked his eyes, looking innocent. "Isn't it the truth?"

"Gosh!" Amelia almost hit her forehead out of frustration. Finally, her gaze fell on the woman who hugged the floor crying, appearing like a pitiful little creature.

Folding her arms over her chest, Amelia went up to her and stood in front of her.

Gasia gritted her teeth as she looked up, her nails digging deeply into her palms. But she didn't feel any pain. All she could feel was the hatred she had for Amelia. She didn't think that Amelia had so much power. She was the very first girl to control her stubborn young master. Did it mean... he fell for this bitch?!

No way...

No, the fricking way!

She would never let Amelia succeed! Caleb was hers and hers only. No matter what, no one would ever be able to snatch him away from her. Not in this lifetime!

Amelia deserved to die... a horrible death!

Gasia's eyes flashed with hostility towards her.

Amelia looked down at her as she spoke.

"Gasia! Did you sleep well last night?"
