2 Chapter Two

The next day Shannon went to school and saw her friends and her friends asked her what happened after everything "Well, Dad was looking at the newspaper and saw that another had gone missing." "And then what happened?" Asked Layton. "Then he showed me the picture and it was Liz." Shannon shivered remembering her eyes. "Lizzy Stonly?" Asked Rachell. "Yeah, and I freaked cause I saw her in the house. So I told Mom and Dad, and Dad called the police and I was asked to come in and answer some questions." "Dude, at least you didn't get an arrested." Said Joey. Just as Tabatha walked by. "Oh shut upJoey." Rachell said. The bell rang "OK you guys get to class." Said Ms.Tabete "k Ms. T." Said Layton.

During Science they were dissecting frogs and the boys were messing around. Tabatha went around and said in a sarcastic voice, "I heard that you got arrested." "Well, I heard that your mouth is going to fall off." Shannon said as she looked at her. Tabatha said, "What ever loser." "Whatever, you." Shannon shrugged. Then out of nowhere a frog was thrown at Tabatha. She screamed and looked Shannon, "You! You! Ahh! I'm going to kill you! Look at my hair!" Across the room Joey was copying her and then everyone looked and started to laugh. She looked at everyone and screamed, "Stop laughing at me!" Just then the teacher came in.

"All right you guys, what is wrong?" "Sir, that girl threw a frog at me." Tabatha cried. "No I didn't." Shannon said standing up pointing at Joey. "Yes she said." Tabatha whined, acting like a two-year-old. "You two, detention after school for 30 minutes." Mr. Alvord told the both of them. They said, "Yes sir." They both sat down. After class, Mr. Alvord said. "Okay class, remember pages 133 to 140. Study the heart for the test tomorrow." "Oh man!" Said Joey while getting his books and leaving. Pretending to be Tabatha, "I got to go and fix my hair." Mr. Stansberry, don't make me give you detention." "No sir." Said Joey while smirking walking behind Tabatha.

It was lunch time and they were looking at their lunch hoping it wouldn't come alive and Josh said "Shannon, are you sure you are OK? Cause you don't look like it." "I'm Alright, I'm just going to have to get over it." "No Shannon, how about you go into the house?" Asked Joey. "Are you flippen crazy?" Said Rachell. "Maybe I am. You wanna check?" Asked Joey. "Get away from me." Rachell said. "That will probably work" said Shannon. "Shannon are you crazy? You know he likes me and I'm checking if he is crazy or not." Rachell said rolling her eyes. "No, not like that. I should go back to the house. I have to find out what happened to Elizabeth." Shannon said while picking at her potatoes.

They where in the library and the librarian said "Shannon Johnson?" "Yes?" "You are being checked out." "OK?" Shannon looked at her friend wondering what was going on. "Bye Shann." Landon waved. "See ya Landon." Shannon went down to the office and then she saw Detective Gomez and her parents. "What's wrong?" She asked. "Nothing. Mr. Churry just wants to meet you," said Marie (her mother). "Who is Mr. Churry?" Asked Shannon. "Mr. Churry is the old man who lives across the street from us, sweety." Said Marie. "OK. Well can I bring Rachell with?" "Well, it should be OK." Said Gomez. "I will have the secretary call her and her Mother." Said Tom.

So everyone was on their way to Mr. Churry's house. When they got to the front door, Tom knocked. "Hello? Oh hello Mr. and Mrs. Johnson and Detective Gomez." Said Mr. Churry. "Hello Mr. Churry. Said Tom. "This is my daughter, Shannon and her friend Rachell." "Very pretty girls they are too." Mr. Churry said looking at the girls from head to toe. "So you are the nice child who made this nice officer come and look around my house, hmmm?" Shannon shivered involuntarily. "Yes Sir." Shannon said looking at the ground. Her Mother nudged her. "Sorry Mr. Churry."

"That's OK Miss. everyone thinks I am creepy as you youngsters say." He smiled showing yellow teeth with some missing. Rachell grabbed Shannon's arm and hid behind her. "I would invite you in but I have some cleaning to do and it just wouldn't be nice." Detective Gomez took a deep breath and chocked. Everyone looked at him and Tom patted his back. "It's OK. Wrong tube." Gomez laughed and looked at Shannon with a strange look in his eyes. Shannon stared back at him smelling the same thing. It was a sickening smell. Waxy and a chemical that Shannon couldn't name. "Well, thank you for your time and I am sure that my daughter will not cause the same troubles again." Shannon's Mother said. She was guiding the girls off the porch. "Yes, thank you Mr. Churry." Officer Gomez contributed as he tried to glance in the door without being obvious.

Later on that night after taken Rachell home, Shannon tried to get an eerie feeling away from her. The look in his eyes as he looked at her and Rachell was creepy as he put it. She wouldn't use the word creepy , the word, physic was more like it. She was sure that Gomez knew something was going on. She was sure that he smelled the same thing. It smelled like the dead frogs at school. She felt something was going to happen but she couldn't figure what it was. She got herself ready for bed and brushed her teeth. Then she went downstairs and kissed her parent's goodnight. She got her homework and sat down at her desk. She glanced at her window and saw Mr. Churry standing out on his porch looking at her window.

Shannon got up and ran downstairs. "Mom Dad! Mr. Churry was starring at my window." "Calm down, Shannon." Her Dad said grabbing her. "Tell me what happened. Were you watching his house?" "No. I was at my desk doing my homework and I glanced over and saw him. He looked straight at my window. Straight at me. You got to look!" "OK, OK. I will. Just stay here with your Mom and don't go anywhere." Tom got up and went to the front door. He looked out the front window and then he went outside. He stood out there for about 5 minutes then came back in. "Well, baby cakes, I didn't see anything. Maybe you were seeing things." Marie added, "Go on to bed dear and get some sleep. I will make you a note stating why you didn't get your work done." Shannon looked at her mom with the look of "You are going to tell them?" "No dear. I will tell them of the stressful things, not what just happened." "OK Mom. Thanks Dad. Sorry I bothered you. Love ya." Shannon kissed her parents again and went to her bed. She looked out her window and saw nothing. She closed her window and locked it and closed the curtains.

Later on that night, she heard some strange noises outside her window. Afraid, she hid under her blankets and started praying. She finally got to sleep just when the alarm went off. She went downstairs and asked her Mom if she could stay home. Her Mom looked at her daughter and put her straight to bed. Then she went downstairs and talked with her husband. "Tom, I am worried about Shannon. She doesn't look well at all. I don't think she got much sleep last night." Marie sat down with a cup of coffee and looked at her husband. Tom agreed and told her to make an appointment with the Doctor later on that day.

As Tom left he felt something that made him look across the street and he saw Mr. Churry on the porch. It was strange cause he never stood outside in the morning. Then he looked at his daughter's window and then looked down and saw something. He went inside like he forgot something. "Marie calls Detective Gomez and tells him to come over. I found something that was not there yesterday in front of the living room window." Marie got to the phone and called Gomez. She repeated the message as she hung up. "Tom, Gomez would be coming in an hour or two. We are to leave the front of the house alone. Do not disturb whatever it is. "What is it that you found?" She asked sitting down. "I am not sure but it doesn't look like anything that belongs in the front yard." Tom looked towards the stairway like he was trying to see Shannon. "Whatever it is, Shannon might be right about what's going on."
