1 A New Start

"Mia Carson! Come here right now!" That was Mia's mother shouting for the fifth time. Well, nobody can blame Mrs. Carson, Mia has been sulking in her room without helping for the past two days. At the same time, no one can blame Mia either, she is a 15-year-old teen high schooler who had to leave her friends, her sister, and her beloved art behind.

"Okay! Okay! I'm coming. Stop nagging ma!" replies Mia, striding over the stairs, skipping two at a time with a frowning face that has an "urghhhhhh" clearly written over it.

Mia was a tall, and cute girl with long dark brown hair and blond highlights. She is a very talented artsy person whose dream is to become a professional artist. Her father got a new job at the headquarters of the company he works at. The whole Carson family had to move from New York to Canada, except her sister who has a job in New York, into a three-storied house.

Mrs. Carson was waiting in front of a cabinet in the storeroom. "Get out all your art supplies from your room and organize them in this cabinet. There is no more room in your closet." says Mrs. Carson while Mia was listening with sparkly eyes. "And also," Mrs. Carson continues..." u can use the storeroom as your art studio. Your dad cleared it all out. It is too spacious to be a storeroom anyway." Then, she glances at Mia, who is in a completely different world, drooling over the large cabinet big enough to fit a mini art supply store and the art studio, AKA, cleaned storeroom which was spacious enough to have a three-person art class. Mia started shouting with joy, "I love this place! Thank you so much, ma!" With a grin on her face, Mrs. Carson whispers in Mia's ears, "If you are that grateful then finish unpacking and come down for dinner."

That night Mia went to bed early because the next day was the first day of school. It was her first time experiencing a "first day of school", so, was nerve-wracking for her. At the same time, she was excited to see what is ahead of her. "It's a new start, let's rule it!" That's what she was thinking as she slowly dozed off.

"Crackle...Crackle..." it suddenly starts to rain with a clap of thunder. Mia wakes up with a jolt. She slowly opens the window. It was raining heavily. Then the dogs in the neighbourhood start whining. Suddenly she hears, "aaooooo...." and then a crash. After a long silence, she walked to the door and held the doorknob. After a moment of thinking, she knew that she was too curious to go back to sleep. So, she went out. She went into the garden, then she realized that it was raining and that she doesn't have an umbrella. But she was too curious about the all sounds she heard to care about these trival things.

She started wandering in the garden, with a torchlight in one hand and a baseball ball bat she picked up on the way down to the garden in another. She starts searching for something without even knowing what she is searching for.

When she was about to give up, she finds a door to the wall at the back of the house. The door looked like it was a part of the wall. She tried to open it but it wasn't budging because it had no knob. She even tried to break it down with the baseball bat she had. but no use.

It was a cold night, the rain was getting heavier and she started feeling dizzy, so, she decided to go back home and come back here tomorrow. As she turned back towards the house, she tripped and fell onto the wall. there she hit her head onto a brick and it went in... and the door opened.

"hahahahahahahahahaha…ha…ha…hah. That scared the hell out of me. What kind of a prank is this?!" she laughed. Then she gets up. "Do people still fall for these kinds of pranks? hah!" she said as she was walking towards the opened door. As she looks into the door with her flashlight, she sees nothing but darkness. It was pitch black...

"grab"...
