Prologue

Before time began, the world or otherwise called, Feral, was as peaceful as can be. There was no such thing as wars or political quarrels. In fact, the true system of politics did not even exist. Quarrels would be settled with a mediator with an unbiased opinion. Everything would be settled peacefully for everyone trusted and believed that what they owned did not belong to them, but belonged to the greater good of humanity.

This is not the world that one knows of today. This is the blissful life of those living in the Sa Rang Era or defined as the Love Era.

Love abounded during these times, hence the reason for peace and cheerful living. However, a particular birth was the death of this delightful era and the start of a terrible age.

The creation of life as one knows it to be is too beautiful to be described. The unity of two people who harbor an overflowing amount of love for each other is a great blessing. Once these two individuals commit themselves to each other, they may express their love in many ways. One way is to continue the cycle of the creation of life, which is what this couple did months after being married.

SPLISH

The sound of water is heard with an agonizing scream accompanying it.

"Honey!" The woman's scream is resounded throughout the giant Minka. In an instant, a man of great stature runs towards the calling voice. Drips of cold sweat run down his forehead as he believes it is time to meet his unborn child.

"Love, what's wrong?" He asks as he finally reaches her.

However, due to the substantial pain, the woman scolds the man. "What does it look like? Your child is ready to be born."

Thoughts run through his mind, 'I can't leave her alone and we only have one maidservant in the minka right now...unpleasant circumstances indeed.'

"Sho!" The man shouts. "Come here right now!"

Faster than ever, a young-looking girl rushes towards her lord. "Master, what can I do for you?" She questions without examining the situation. "My lady!" She shouts in realization. "Master, please place her on the futon."

The man eyes the young servant like she's crazy. "You know how to conduct childbirth?" She nods hastily and rushes out of the room to get her materials.

"Honey..." The woman calls, "It hurts so much!"

The man soothes his wife and whispers reassuring words to her as he waits for the maidservant.

"Master, I'm ready."

The man looks up and motions for the servant to begin. However, the servant is hesitant. "Master, it's best if you wait outside. The procedure is too..."

"As if the gore of childbirth would scare a man like me. Carry on with the procedure," he scoffs and crosses his arms.

The maidservant spreads the woman's legs open and begins the procedure of childbirth. Things seem to be going as planned. The woman has dilated ten centimeters and now is waiting for the baby to position their head correctly. When the position was assumed the maidservant instructed the woman to push. However, the contractions would not permit her to do so.

"Isn't there any herbal concoction that you can give her?" The man questions, clearly distraught with the screams of his wife. The maidservant shakes her head, "In this new age, the herb collectors prioritize the Valites than us villagers. If we wanted herbs we would have to collect them beforehand."

Hearing this, the woman began to cry. Each contraction became a pain that dominated her entire being. In those moments, for those seconds that stretched into infinity, there was nothing else. When the pain passed it was only for a minute or so and she breathed with closed eyes, unwilling to re-engage with life outside of her own body. The room might as well have been empty because when they did talk, touch, or try to gain her attention she found it so hard to reply. The maidservant continues to urge her to push. With a guttural grunt, she did so and was told to stop, one was enough. She felt the baby crowning, the hot stretching of flesh, and held her breath. Without any further effort, the baby slid into the hands of the maidservant.

Astonishment took over the man as he saw a creature full of blood and other substances, but was overjoyed when he heard the baby's first cry.

"Master, do you want to cut the Sa Rang cord?"

However, the man was too overjoyed to hear the maid servant's question.

"AHH!"

All focus is directed to the woman. "M'lady, congratu--"

"It still hurts!"

Quickly, the maidservant severs the Sa Rang cord and wraps the newborn in a cotton cloth and gives the babe to her master.

She examines the woman and gasps. "What is it? My wife better survive or--"

"Master, there's another one!!" The maidservant exclaims. "Push, M'lady, push!"

The same process is executed for the second child except the man severs the Sa Rang cord.

The maidservant rises from her stance and presents a fine smile to the new parents. "Congratulations on the beautiful gift of two sons. May prosperity be filled in your clan." She bows and motions for the children, so that she could clean them.

"You did an amazing job, Love. You gave me not one but two sons, what a blessing this is."

"Hopefully, they will be men that change the aura of this new era," she responds and places her head on her husband's chest."Hmm," he hums in agreement.

"What shall we name them?" She questions.

"The firstborn shall be called, Lucian and his brother will be Aurelius."

"Sun Lucian and Sun Aurelius," the woman says, testing the sound of the names. "You chose honorable names for our sons. Thank you."
