13 12: Celestial Continent
"Well, before I explain this world to you, why don't I impart the language of this continent to you." Zarg said while he walked over to Edward and placed his thumb on Edward's forehead. Edward felt strange sensation in his head.
[WARNING! WARNING! Large amounts of radiation is attempting to enter hosts brain! The radiation seems to be harmless, does the host want to let the radiation enter? YES / NO]
"Yes!" Edward thought. Suddenly, he felt a little nauseous and had a slight headache.
[ATTENTION! A wave of information has entered the hosts brain. Does host want to store the information or integrate it?]
"Integrate the information!" Edward was amazed. Usually, when transferring information back on Earth, you would have to send the file from your personal AI to another AI, before the AI integrates or stores the information. Just like sending an e-mail except when you integrate, the information is already embedded into ones memory. However, Zarg somehow magically made information and sent it directly to Edwards brain.
After a few seconds, Edwards brain has began to integrate with the new information.
"ca# #$% @%#@stand me n$@?" Zarg spoke out loud.
"What?" Edward couldn't quite make out what he said.
" I said can you understand me now?" Zarg repeated. This time, it was actually clear.
"Oh, wow, yes I can." Edward spoke at the same language as Zarg now. It seems that the information Zarg sent him was about the local language and pronunciation. The language has some Norwegian characteristics. It was quite easy for Edward to adapt to the new language.
"Oh good. We can now communicate through words. Telepathy was quite tiring after all. Anyways, what do you want to know about this world?" Zarg sat down at the opposite chair.
"Well, why don't you start with general knowledge"
"Alright. Well, this planet is called Ethon, which is the 6th of the 12 planets in the Calgian Galaxy. Ethon and the 7th planet, Axion are the only two planets that are habitable in the Calgian Galaxy, although Axion only have low intelligence creatures.
This planet has 6 major continents and the rest are small countries. We are located at the farthest continent from the rest, called the Celestial Continent. Here only celestial beings like me resides. The other continents are the Dark Continent, Dreadland Continent, Terrania Continent, and Marsara Continent." Zarg said. Edward didn't forget to tell Core to record all the things Zarg was saying.
"The Celestial Continent we are in is divided into four territories. The north is controlled by us, the Hessen people. The east is controlled by the Pytheriuns, the south is controlled by the Jugnars, and the west is controlled by the Berians. We are not exactly friendly with the Pytheriuns of the east." Zarg continued. "Anyways, what else would you like to know."
"Well, there are a lot, but I think the most important is the radiation around us and how you can manipulate that. Tell me about that." Edward asked
"Ray-dee-yay-shoon? What is that?" Zarg asked. It seems that the word "radiation" did not exist in their vocabulary.
"Well, it's the strong energy floating around in the air." Edward replied.
"Do you mean the Ethion" Zarg was a little surprised. "Can you see the Ethion in the air?"
"No I don't see it, but I can sense the fluctuations through my brain. Actually, my brain grew a strange tumor when I was first exposed to the radiat- I mean, Ethion in the air." Edward said. When he looked at Zarg, he saw that Zarg looked absolutely shocked.
"M-May I inspect your brain for a second?" Zarg asked, his voice slightly shaking.
"Umm, okay?" Edward agreed. Edward stood up and sat next to Zarg, while Zarg touched Edward's head. Edward felt the same strange sensation in his head when Zarg touched him. After a while, Zarg suddenly sprung up from his seat and shouted.
"WHAT THE HELL?!?! AN LEVEL 7 CLEAR ETHION STONE?!?!" It looked like Zarg was almost going to faint.
"Do you know what the tumor is?" Edward asked, slightly shocked by Zarg's sudden reaction.
"W-w-well, let me explain it to you. In this world, the air is full of this energy called Ethion. It is a strange phenomenon, however, just think of it as something of a blank canvas. You can control the Ethion in the air through a special method, and you can will it to do certain things." Zarg explained.
'Wait a minute… this sounds like Mana from those old Japanese novels…' Edward thought to himself. 'It cant possibly be Mana. that's against Physics! If says he can summon a fireball from thin air, I am going to be shitting myself'
Zarg continued his explanation. "Not all people can control the Ethion in the air. You must have what is called an Ethion Stone. It is found in the brain and is controlled through the nervous system. Think of it as a biological gemstone in your brain, controlling the Ethion in the air. You could turn the Ethion into almost any form of energy thinkable…"
'OOOOH, is he going to say it????' Edward thought to himself.
"You could even make fire…" Zarg said.
"JESUS CHRIST, THIS IS AN ANIME FANTASY WORLD!!!!!" Edward couldn't stop himself from shouting.
"What?" Zarg was slightly surprised by Edward's sudden outburst.
"Nothing! Nothing! Please continue." Edward coughed.
"O-oh okay? Well, there are different types and levels of the Ethion Stones. There are 13 levels of Ethion stone. The higher the level of the Ethion Stone, the more Ethion from the air you can manipulate, and the stronger the result. The weakest is the first level and thirteen is the strongest.
There are also different types of Ethion Stones. There are 7 types of Ethion Stones. There is Fire, Land, Water, Wind, Electricity, Light, Dark, and Clear. If a person has a Water Ethion stone, then he can easily manipulate Ethion and turn it into water. However, they would have difficulty controlling other elements, especially polar opposite elements. Each type of stone would have the same principle, except the Clear Ethion Stone.
Those with Clear Ethion Stones can control any element that they want, very easily, with little to no restrictions whatsoever. These people are very rare and is very powerful."
At this point, Edward thought to himself 'Controlling Fire, water, earth and air? This is unbelievable. Is this some cliché fantasy anime? Wait a minute, he said that I have a level 7 clear ethion stone, so that would mean that I could control all the elements...….
