Two Genos' don't make a right.

"What the hell… This kid just crashed through the window and took a nap," Saitama huffed as he lifted the strange boy's unconscious body from the glass, "Genos. Come give me a ha-"

Genos stood frozen in front of the kitchen sink. His arms were sitting in the water while he held a glass and a rag, unwilling to resume his activity. His pale artificial skin somehow looked even paler as he said nothing, making Saitama believe he had just malfunctioned.

"Genos," Saitama said, a little bit louder this time.

Genos continued to stare at the boy in the bald man's arms as if the kid were some never-before-seen specimen.

Saitama decided that he would leave Genos to his thoughts until he became responsive again. In the meantime, he went to the bathroom and dumped kid into the bathtub then walked right back out to try and clean up the mess that had just been made. Genos was now standing in the living room shaking out the glass from the one futon that Saitama had previously been resting on. Saitama joined his student's side with a broom and dustpan.

"You okay now, dude?"

Genos didn't reply, only continued to fumble around with the futon.

"GENOS!" Saitama practically yelled this time as he grabbed the cyborgs shoulder making him face him. Saitama was feeling pretty uneasy by then. He usually couldn't get the guy to shut up but, now he wouldn't say anything.

"I do not know what that thing is," Genos said in a low voice that was almost inaudible.

"What? You're not making any sense, man."

Genos gathered more strength in his voice, "Do not trust the creature in the bathroom."

Saitama narrowed his eyes. He had no idea what the other was rambling on about.

"I do not know how, Sensei, but the thing in the bathroom is... me." Genos's voice was shaking. He was panicking and Saitama could hear it in his voice.

"You?" Saitama finally processed what this disciple was saying. Genos was in the bathroom? No, that kid was in the bathroom. Who was that kid anyway? Saitama didn't even look at his face. He stopped his sweeping, leaned the broom against the wall and ventured back into the bathroom to investigate.

The kid was lying in the tub just as Saitama had left him, limbs casually hanging off the edge. 'Another blondie,' Saitama thought to himself. He knelt down next to the tub to examine the boy closer then let out a little gasp. This face. He had seen this sleeping face far too often to not recognize it immediately. Except this face was younger and not as pale as his current friend's.

"…Genos?" Saitama asked quietly. He didn't get a response and that worried him. He realized that the Genos in front of him was covered in cuts and scrapes. He was in a school uniform but, instead of it being clean and pressed it was covered in holes, singe marks and various patches of what looked like blood. Saitama placed a hand over the boy's chest, looking for a heartbeat. He found one but, it was very slow and the kid's breathing wasn't much better. "G- Genos!"

"Sensei? What happened?" Genos questioned frantically, matching the worry in his teacher's tone. Genos quickly went into defense mode when he saw his younger self in Saitama's arms. "Please step away from it, Sensei. We do not know what it is. It could be some kind of shapeshifter." The young cyborg growled as he started to fire up his body.

"GENOS! He needs help! And even if he is a monster, I'll be damned if I let you burn down my house," Saitama shielded the teen, even if it wasn't really Genos he still wanted to protect him (and his bathroom), "We have to take him to the hospital." And just as quickly as Saitama finished talking, he had hoisted the boy up, put on his shoes and was already out the door.

Genos stood for a second in the solitude of the small bathroom. He felt weird all of a sudden like his systems weren't working correctly. His body wavered and he caught himself just before he could fall to the ground. A message appeared in his head for a split second then went away, too quick for Genos to read. He assumed the problem had fixed itself seeing how he started feeling normal again. He assessed himself for a bit just for safety measure before he left the house in pursuit of his teacher.

---------------------------------------------------------------

When Genkei finally opened his eyes, he was in a white hospital room. The lights were off, but a big window provided enough light for the boy to see just fine. He was attached to an IV and was laying in a bed while wearing a hospital gown. There was a single balloon attached to the bed railing with the words 'it's a boy' written on it, Genkei found it rather out of place, but didn't actually care enough to question it. His eyes felt puffy and itchy so, he reached up to rub them.

"You're awake now, huh?"

Genkei turned his head to the seat that was beside the bed. The bald man from before was sitting there, arms crossed and a blank stare on his face.

"I hope you like the balloon. I picked it out... Of course, you could be a girl too... But wow! You really look like him. I mean minus all the robot parts…" Saitama laughed and Genkei just watched, "so I guess your shapeshifting isn't too good."

"What are you talking about?" Genkei asked flatly, his voice a rough from sleep.

"You tried to copy Genos, no? Well, you only look a little bit like him. Like, if he was all flesh and bones."

'Who is Genos?' He thought. "What are you talking about, baldie?" He said instead.

"WHO ARE YOU CALLING BALD!?"

"I don't have time for this. I need to get ho-"Genkei's mind stopped as his memory came rushing back to him. He remembered the glowing red eyes. His parents as they were brutally murdered in front of him. His town. The flames. The smell. Everything was gone. Yet, no one seemed concerned. The heart monitor he was attached to started beeping loudly and he put a hand over his mouth and grabbed his stomach.

Saitama practically jumped at the sudden beeping. He noticed the boy's position and immediately grabbed the bedpan that was sitting on the small table near the chair he was just in and placed it in front of the other's face. He turned the other way as soon as he heard the kid vomit knowing that if he didn't, he'd need a bucket of his own.

A nurse came in moments later to check up on him. She heard the heart monitor spike so, she wanted to make sure the boy wasn't having a seizure or anything. Saitama explained what had just happened as the nurse nodded and checked the teen's vitals again just in case. Once she saw that everything was relatively okay, she took the pan from Genkei, placed it in the biohazard bin, gave him a new one then saw herself out. A few silent moments passed until Genkei decided to break the silence.

"Who are you anyway?" He asked his voice coming out raspy so, he cleared his throat.

"Saitama. I'm a hero as a hobby… Ah... And payment now, I guess."

"Yeah right. Hero's don't exist." Genkei spat out coldly.

Saitama frowned. 'Did this kid live under a rock? Then again, if he was really a shapeshifter the idea wasn't too farfetched' He thought to himself.

"…And why did that nurse call me 'Genos'? That's not my name."

"It's not?"

"No…" Genos answers as he opens the door to join the two in the room, the swiftly closing it behind him. He looks back and forth between the two.

"Oh, Genos," Saitama said acknowledging his friend. Immediately Saitama noticed Genos was acting weird. He notices that he looked shaken. He's never seen the other unnerved by anything and it made Saitama on guard. Maybe the kid really was some kind of danger, if he was it would be best to eliminate him now while he was weak, right?

The heart monitor started to go off again and Saitama's gaze moved to the kid again. He grabbed the new bedpan but before he could get any further Genos had unplugged the device connected to the boy and had a hand firmly pressed to the younger one's mouth. He got in the boys face, and for a second Saitama thought Genos was gonna smash him to bits.

Genkei looked up a Genos, his eyes filled with tears and burning with hatred. He was helpless against this cyborg, just like the one that… As he thought about everything once again, Genkei started to whimper out muffled sobs. He closed his eyes as he weakly tried to pull the silicone and metal and away.

"Genkei…" the name slipped out of Genos's mouth before he could even stop it and Genkei practically jumped out of his skin, but made a noise in acknowledgment. The cyborg looked to Saitama who had just watched the whole ordeal and was actually pretty shocked, "Sensei… I think he is feeling better, we shouldn't waste any more time in the hospital."

"What? Genos are you insane? You said so yourself, he might be dangerous."

"Sensei… It's fine. I will explain once we get home. Please, trust me." Genos' signature stoicism displayed on his face would assure anyone but, Saitama knew better. Anytime Genos told him to trust him, his disciple would always almost end up dead. But, just like any other time, Saitama gave Genos the benefit of the doubt and let him lead the way.

The bald hero nodded and the two took action. Saitama took the remaining wires off of Genkei and hoisted the blonde teen into his arms bridal style. Genos crashed through the window first and Saitama followed shortly after. Like before Genkei's initial reaction was to freeze up, making it hard for Saitama to get a good grip on him. Then frantic arms followed after, eager to latch onto something stable.

Saitama's grip on the boy tightened to try and reassure him. 'This is oddly familiar…' The older hero thought to himself as they made their way back home. Saitama's mind drifted to all the times he had to carry Genos like this because he'd been torn apart. He held the boy close feeling his warm body against his and wondered if this is what Genos would feel like if still had a human body. He coughed and quickly pushed that thought aside. What the hell was he thinking?

"I am sure the hospital will have some complaints about us taking him," Genos pointed to Genkei, "I will have the Hero Association take care of that. In the meantime, I hope it is okay that he stays with us, Sensei."

"Huh? Well, I guess it's no big deal but, it's already kind of cramped in there with just the two of us." As reluctant as Saitama was, it kind of felt like Genos just wanted him to follow along with whatever plan he had in store.

"NO! I HAVE TO GET HOME!" Genkei screamed and tried to break out if Saitama's hold to no avail, "I don't want to be anywhere near a killing machine like YOU! MONSTER! FREAK! MURDERER!" Genkei was sobbing again but, his words came out like fire. He yelled at Genos more and more, continuing to degrade him.

"AND WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WHEN YOU GET THERE? NOTHING IS LEFT! EVERYONE IS DEAD!" Genos screamed back, his body heating up and his face growing dark. His shouting silenced the teen quickly.

"Hey, brat. Watch what you're saying. Genos is clearly trying to help you out, show some respect." Saitama added after a bit. He really couldn't offer anything else.

The silence that followed after was deafening. Genkei clung to Saitama and the bald man kept his eye on the young cyborg. Genos was looking at the ground now, brows furrowed and fists clenched tight. He didn't say anything for the rest of their journey home.

------

The three sat around the low table in silence. Saitama sat cross-legged and had his head resting on his hand, Genos sat seiza with his hands on his knees, and Genkei sat with his legs to his chest slightly embarrassed by the hospital gown that revealed his entire backside.

"Sensei… I would like to speak to you in private." Genos whispered but, was clearly heard by the other two.

"Uh, sure? But, what about Junior over here? Won't he run away?"

Genkei's heart thumped at the nickname his friend used to call him and he buried his face in his knees, squeezing his eyes shut. A wave of emotion rolled over him. He didn't feel like throwing up or yelling, he just wanted to lay down and cry. He figured if he let those two talk, he would be alone and would be able to do just that. "I won't run. I promise," his small voice cracked at the end and Saitama and Genos looked at each other then nodded. The heroes got up and left the apartment, standing just outside the door.

"So what's up?" Saitama asked in a whisper, resting his back against the door.

Genos looked nervously to the ground deciding his words, "Sensei… I don't know how but, that child is definitely me. I made a miscalculation but, in the hospital, I was able to confirm that he is me."

Saitama stood with his arms crossed and head tilted to the side. He wasn't sure how much he believed that but, he didn't have a reason not to believe either. "So, like, did he come from the past or something," Saitama joked, shrugging his shoulders.

"That is the only logical explanation but, at the same time…"

"Yeah… Wait. How'd you even confirm? Time travel is kind of, ya' know," Saitama rolled his hand trying to find his words, "hard to prove."

Genos made a face like he'd eaten something gross, "My name is not Genos, Sensei…" Saitama raised his eyebrows in surprise and Genos continued before he could reply, " Or rather it wasn't before I became a cyborg. That version of me is named Genkei. Back when I decided to become a cyborg to avenge my family, I figured that I would call myself something else since I would no longer really be myself. 'Genos' is a derivative of 'Genomics' which is the branch of molecular biology concerned with the structure, function, evolution, and mapping of genomes. I figured it was rather fitting with me pretty much changing everything about my body." The demon cyborg closes his eyes as he smiled sadly at his memories.

Saitama wanted to say something encouraging but, he was at a loss for words. His heart ached at the sight of his student looking so defeated. He'd never seen Genos smile in such a heart-wrenching way and he felt like an idiot for not being able to console the younger hero.

"But how does that prove that he's you?" Saitama crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow, showing his skepticism.

"Ah… What I am saying is that no one should know that name. Dr. Kuseno and I had decided that I would use 'Genos' as my new identity in order to keep me safe and the press off of my tail. When I called him that name, he responded, and unless Dr. Kuseno has told someone, although I doubt that possibility, no one should know his name anymore. To be honest, I almost forgot about that name. So the only way he would know is if he were really me."

"So, I'm the only other person who knows your real name?" Saitama said absentmindedly and Genos blinked as his eyes darkened and then gave him a small nod. This made the baldy's heart skip. He now knew one of Genos' secrets and he wasn't sure if he was excited or, dare he say, scared. He knew this wasn't the time to get sentimental but, he had been yearning to know more and more about Genos. He just never really knew how to go about asking so, these little moments of Genos being honest with him made Saitama giddy. Saitama cleared his throat, "Um… Well… If he's you, I can't just get rid of him can I? Plus we should probably ask Dr. Stench if he can help us out because I'm not really sure what we should do now."

Genos nodded again meeting Saitama's eyes with his own now, "That would be best, Sensei. And one last thing… I think it would be best to refrain from telling Genkei that he and I are the same person."

Saitama nodded once and waited for the other to clarify. When he didn't Saitama raised an eyebrow but, didn't try to get anything else from him. If Genos wanted to tell him anything, he would. Saitama figured the conversation had finished and decided to head back inside of the small apartment.

"Oookay, kid. Looks like you're staying with us for a while!" Saitama exclaimed clapping his hands together and smiled when he saw how high Genkei had just jumped in the air from surprise.

The teen in return, sent a scowl to Saitama, his eyes red from obviously crying, "I don't want to stay here." Was all Genkei said in response.

"I believe you do not have a choice," Genos chimed in behind his teacher, "You have nowhere else to go, your family is dead, and you are in an unfamiliar city. You really do not have any other options." Genos's words were cold and unforgiving like they always were but, hearing him talk like that to himself made Saitama feel uneasy. Sure Genos wasn't one to sugarcoat things but, you'd think he would soften the blow a little especially since we were talking to his kid equivalent.

"Don't fucking talk to me, you piece of shit robot." Genkei spat at his cyborg equivalent. He looked ready to tear the other apart or, at least try to since his thin human hands wouldn't have much (if any) effect on the metal parts.

Genos heated up, his eyes glowing a bright yellow. He was trembling and for the second time, Saitama thought he would attack the boy. Genkei thought the same and flinched, putting his arm up in front of himself for defense.

"Genos," Saitama turned and put both hands on Genos' shoulders, "Maybe you should get started on dinner?" He gave Genos a wary smile and ushered him into the kitchen. He figured that while Genos was busy, he'd have a little man to man talk with Genkei.

"Hey, you. Genkei, right?"

"How did that thing know all that stuff about me?"

Saitama would have punched this kid if he were anyone else. "First off, he is not a 'thing' so stop saying that. And he's… Ya' know… Cyborgs can just do that kind of stuff." Saitama said. That was the best cover explanation he could come up with.

Genkei sat silently, grabbing at his hospital gown. Saitama thought he looked even smaller just sitting there. No doubt the kid was scared, he just ended up in a random city that was probably way far from his home and now he had to stay with two complete strangers (technically speaking, they weren't really strangers but, whatever) until they could figure this whole mess out.

"Did you bring my clothes?" Genkei finally asked as he fidgeted.

Saitama groaned as he smacked himself in the face. He completely forgot all of that at the hospital. "How, about you borrow some of my clothes? I'm sure I still have my high school uniform here, give me a sec."

Saitama crawled over to the wardrobe in the corner of the room. He opened it up, pushed some stuff here, moved other things there, threw out a shirt or two until he finally went 'ah'. He made his way back to the table and spread out a white shirt and blues shorts with white stripes on the side.

"Well I couldn't find my uniform but, my old P.E. clothes pretty much works the same for now, right?" Saitama opted to ignore the small huff of disappointment that came from the kitchen. "We'll have to go shopping for anything else you'll need tomorrow."

Genkei pulled the outfit closer to him then took the clothing in his arms. He bowed his head and whispered a 'thank you' before trying to get up. Then shifting a bit and trying again. And again.

Panic flooded into the boy, tears swelling in his eyes, "S- Saitama-san? Is it okay if you help me? My legs are a little weak…" His voice wavering as he spoke.

Saitama practically turned to jelly as the boy asked for his help so innocently. And that 'Saitama-san' was the icing on the cake. He nodded, got to his feet, and lifted the boy to his feet to help him into the bathroom while Genos stood in the kitchen and watched them disappear.

So much for that 'man to man' talk.
